Kumho Crugen Premium 

These replaced the OEM Michelin Cross Terrain SUV tires. Response and grip in dry and wet pavement is very good in 2wd mode and phenomenal in 4wd mode...in hard cornering in a good rain I could not get them to break loose (there is no traction control on this vehicle)! Also got the chance to use them in the snow during 'Snowpocalypse 2010'. They are very capable in the snow in 4wd mode, churning through deep snow and maintaining good grip up hills, cornering, and braking.



I have the XL load tires so the ride is a bit firmer, but good. And I like having it when I do occasional horse trailering. Fuel mileage does appear to suffer...I log a 1.5mpg drop in overall fuel efficiency. Finally, though these are mainly highway tires, the wide channels between the blocks does like to collect rocks during the occasional foray off road or when driving on a gravel driveway.



Overall, I am very pleased with the Grabber HTS performance. While I am dissapointed with the drop in MPG, I should have expected it when looking for an increase in grip over the OEM Michelins.

5,000 Miles

Bought these for my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (w/20" Overland Wheels) in late June after doing quite a bit of research. OEM Tires were Goodyear Fortera which lasted just over 60,000 miles but had lost most wet traction. I wanted to get a tire with a slightly aggressive tread pattern while not sacrificing noise. Through 5,000 and change, the most impressive thing about these tires is their handling and capability in wet conditions -- I've driven SUVs a good portion of my driving history (17 years) and can honestly say I haven't seen wet performance like these. Additionally my wife noticed an immediate drop in discernible noise overall after moving to the Grabber from the Goodyear Fortera, though she has said the tires feel more aggressive and lose some quietness when driving on cross-scored concrete (bridges and new sections of interstate). So far, tread wear has been as expected (no noticeable wear through 5,000 miles.) I plan on having the tires rotated in the coming weeks before the Winter weather arrives in Kansas City, and will update this review in mid-spring after the tires put a full winter behind them.

My trucks not my cruiser. I have a nice car for that. This is only the 3rd set of tires I've had on this truck as I bought it used. The Generals are my favorites. The other tires spun at the rear wheels at very mild acceleration from a stop. These haven't. Noise levels are a lot better too. Snow and wet traction is very good and the truck's handling is very predictable with these
tires. I've had Goodyear, Michelin, Yokohama, Hankook and B F Goodriches on various different vehicles. Most of the other brands have not impressed. These General Grabbers have done better than I expected and I am impressed with how they've improve my truck's behavior, handling and comfort. I look at tires this way. If they are good tires, I replace with the same. If they're not, I can't wait to replace them with something else and that's happened more than once with even the "premium" brands. I usually go with the less expensive choice, which these are. I don't want to spend big money to be disappointed. And I'm all the more happy when the less expensive do better than I expected!

Best tires hands down. I live in the Snowbelt of Ohio and this past winter these new tires were great in the heavy snow. Sometimes I did not even need 4WD.Would Recommend these tires to anyone.

The General are great tires for wet NW, performs great last week crossing I90 Snoqualmie Pass to I97 Blewett Pass, a 780 mile trek in ice snow blizzard condition, from Seattle to Wenatchee and back, across the Cascade Mountains. Highway 2 was completely closed due to avalanche and huge trees blocking. With 9" snow fall that night and 21F temp at mile 47 many cars and trucks could not traverse the road. Many 4x4 spinning all 4 going nowhere, trucks with chains spinning at 5-10 mph, many two wheel drivers going up skiing were in the ditch, but the General kept going without losing traction or use of chains at 25-35 mph. I easily drove around a group of 4x4 trucks and commercial trucks in chains spinning out in front of me on an off camber turn. The 07 Expedition has Electronic Active Stability Control RSC, 4x4 and General Grabber HTS . I can see the Skid control light up on my dash but could not feel the vehicle losing traction or sliding. When I got to Eastern Washington, I tested the car in an empty parking lot to determine how much traction I had before the vehicle spinout, it took a lot of ham fisted driving at over 30-35 mph in 2-3" snow and ice before the car spinout, at 15-20 mph the electronic skid control would kick in and prevent the car from skidding even in turning braking maneuver. Amazing Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer with 4x4, RSC Active Skid Control and General Grabber HTS. It took 8 hours to drive 158 miles each way over the pass, the ham-fisted testing in the snow covered parking lot was only done so I know how far I can push the car before losing control. That is not the way I drive with my wife and two girls. Very quiet tires, my girls complain when other car's tires are too noisy driving along side of our car on the freeway. Great traction in wet and dry conditions. Good feed back in my steering wheel for such a big vehicle. Gave it an 8 for rock because it picks up too many pebbles then toss them, pack with clay mud will lose traction.

Excellent tire! This is my second set of general tires. The first was the Grabber AT2 which were an excellent set of tires so I tried these and they have lived up to the first set. Would definitely buy another set of either General's. Great handling in all weather and great looking tire.

I have owned these tires for 3 years now and have never loved a tire so much. I've made it through a mild winter and a really bad winter 2 years ago that they did fantastic in. I replaced the factory continentals because the traction was horrible and the road noise was like a semi going by. I'm guessing I will get about 45000 miles out of these which is ok by me since its mostly in town driving. My parents also put a set on there grand Cherokee after I talked it up so much and they love them too. They live 15 miles out of town in the country and have had to drive on unplowed roads and said they felt great. They believe with the country miles they will get 60000 miles out of them. I've also never had trouble in the rain and the dry traction is also great. They are also very quiet which is nice since the factory tires were so noisy.

The best tires I have ever had on my 2005 Pathfinder. Ride great, great traction in wet or dry conditions. Have put 5,00 miles and have zero complaints about this tire. I will definitely buy another set. This is one of the best kept tire secrets today. What a buy.

These tires are a huge improvement over the original Goodyear Wrangler RTS tires. In comparison, the Generals are very quiet, having no hum, the ride feels softer with little vibration, and best of all, they grip wet roads. No more overstear and scratching off when trying to cross a wet highway. I don't think there is a better premium All Season tire for my truck and climate.

Bought 215/70R-16 General Grabber HTS to put on my 2006 Honda Element 2WD about 3 months ago. Comfort, noise level, ride quality, tread wear have all been outstanding. For a tire priced under $100 these have preformed extremely well. I would buy these again.

Finishing up my 5th set of General HTS's. Each set consistently bringing in 60k+ miles.
Tires do become a little noisy and rough riding towards end of life cycle, but considering treadware is down into harder rubber would explain this. Traction as expected is less towards end of life cycle and not much problem until last 5k miles. Otherwise, a great tire for all season weather. Tires rotated every 5k, alignment completed every 10k - no exceptions. 2 sets on 2007 RAV 4, getting ready for a 3rd.

OEM provided tire with vehicle purchase. Tire 3+ years old, tread depth still 4 after 60k miles. Heavy highway, heavy snow, moderate off road, and what's a speed limit? HTS passed all I threw at it! Upgrading to HTS60 for even longer tread life. Heat dissipation great on long haul and travel. Several 1000 mile trips, 2x 2500 mile trips ... couldn't ask for better tire then General made the HTS60 anyway. I'll review that tire after 7500 miles.

These tires worked great for me from the time I put them on until I replaced them @ 68K miles. They were every bit as good in all areas as the OEM Michelins they replaced. I live in warm climate, so can not vouch for snow or ice conditions, but in both wet & dry conditions, they performed flawlessly. Cornering, braking, ride comfort & noise were all up to par. No complaints at all, and they would have made 70K miles easy if I had not changed them when I did. Very happy with these tires; a great value.
You can feel comfortable that these tires will serve you well.
This time around I'm trying out the Sumitomo HTR Enhance C/X.... it's a new tire, but I was inspired by the HTR Z III tires I've been using on my S2000 for the past several years, so had to give them a shot. I'd go back to the General's in a heartbeat if these Sumi's don't work out. These General Grabber HTS are a great set and a great value to boot.
