The Assurance ComfortDrive is Goodyear's Grand Touring All-Season tire designed for drivers of sedans, coupes, crossovers, and SUVs looking for a sensibly luxurious tire that delivers a smooth ride and premium noise comfort. Assurance ComfortDrive tires are developed to provide a satisfying grip on dry and wet roads along with confidence in wintry weather conditions, including light snow.

Goodyear Assurance ComfortDrive Callouts

The Assurance ComfortDrive features an all-season tread compound that utilizes soybean oil for increased traction without sacrificing fuel economy and tread wear. The symmetric tread design employs Evolving Traction Grooves and TreadLock Technology that yields consistent grip and stability combined with responsive dry handling. The optimized tread pattern is engineered to reduce tread harmonics and airborne noise for a luxuriously quiet ride. Symmetrically balanced AquaChannel Grooves and large, lateral notches help evacuate water from the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance and enhanced wet performance. Large sipes built into the tread blocks increase the biting edges necessary for grip in snowy or icy conditions.

The tire's internal construction features Goodyear's ComfortFlex technology, designed to absorb impacts while providing ultra-refined handling and steering response. A two-ply casing supports twin steel belts, along with a reinforcement cap ply for increased high-speed capabilities.

...They have provided a smooth ride, excellent control, great wet traction, and surprisingly good performance in the snow...

As someone who has always preferred Michelin tires, I was hesitant to spend a fortune on tires for a vehicle I was leasing. However, after reading the reviews, tests, and ratings on Tire Rack, I decided to take a chance on these tires.

They have provided a smooth ride, excellent control, great wet traction, and surprisingly good performance in the snow.

It's true that sometimes you can find a good all-around tire for a lower price.

...These Goodyear Assurance tires do admirable in snowy conditions, for an all-season tire. Granted, they are not winter/snow tires, which would be better in the winter snow and ice, but, they do fine...

Best tire we have had on this older Honda Civic to date. Very comfortable tire with excellent handling and traction in both dry and wet conditions. These tires are holding up well for longevity, I expect to get at least the rated mileage out of them. I recommended these tires to two other friends with similar vehicles and they purchased them and love them as well. These Goodyear Assurance tires do admirable in snowy conditions, for an all-season tire. Granted, they are not winter/snow tires, which would be better in the winter snow and ice, but, they do fine. I recommend these tires.

...Just don't expect a quick turn-in or anything in the way of responsiveness...

These tires have met my expectations and have been a good fit for the car they're on. They have softer sidewalls, and while that does lead to a more comfortable ride, there's little to no "performance" in these tires. If you need a quiet, comfortable tire with good treadwear that performs well in both wet and dry conditions—and can handle a bit of light snow—this may be the tire for you. Just don't expect a quick turn-in or anything in the way of responsiveness. Again, for my Volvo XC70 wagon, they're a great fit.
