The Assurance ComfortDrive is Goodyear's Grand Touring All-Season tire designed for drivers of sedans, coupes, crossovers, and SUVs looking for a sensibly luxurious tire that delivers a smooth ride and premium noise comfort. Assurance ComfortDrive tires are developed to provide a satisfying grip on dry and wet roads along with confidence in wintry weather conditions, including light snow.

Goodyear Assurance ComfortDrive Callouts

The Assurance ComfortDrive features an all-season tread compound that utilizes soybean oil for increased traction without sacrificing fuel economy and tread wear. The symmetric tread design employs Evolving Traction Grooves and TreadLock Technology that yields consistent grip and stability combined with responsive dry handling. The optimized tread pattern is engineered to reduce tread harmonics and airborne noise for a luxuriously quiet ride. Symmetrically balanced AquaChannel Grooves and large, lateral notches help evacuate water from the contact patch for increased hydroplaning resistance and enhanced wet performance. Large sipes built into the tread blocks increase the biting edges necessary for grip in snowy or icy conditions.

The tire's internal construction features Goodyear's ComfortFlex technology, designed to absorb impacts while providing ultra-refined handling and steering response. A two-ply casing supports twin steel belts, along with a reinforcement cap ply for increased high-speed capabilities.

...Deep tread, excellent in wet traction and tight cornering...

Very impressed with this Goodyear tire! Deep tread, excellent in wet traction and tight cornering. Not any noisier than from any other top of the line brands. Would highly recommend. Too early to comment on tire wear. Also very happy with Tire Rack! They make it easy to select the correct tire and very informative on tire details and on manufacturer rebates.

...Good performance, good traction (dry/wet/snow)...

I really like these tires. Good performance, good traction (dry/wet/snow), and they're a little quieter road-noise wise than the Michelin's that came with the vehicle when new.

I like the traction on dry, wet, and light snow but I was expecting them to be quieter. They aren’t bad but with a name “comfort drive” I was expecting them to be a bit quieter.

...Winter traction is good, in the better half of all-season tires, with enough traction to get moving and stop adequately. As to be expected, ice traction is mediocre...

I've had good luck with high-end Goodyear tires on our sedans and crossovers, which led me to select these Goodyear Assurance ComfortDrive tires for the Murano. The Murano leans toward luxury rather than sport, and these tires work in tandem with that mission. It handles well, but it isn't overtly sporty. The ride is excellent, as the tires soak up many small imperfections, and steers accurately with adequate feedback. While new, I know these tires will be rather silent on most road surfaces, which has been my experience with this tire on other vehicles we've owned. Wet traction is a B+. Winter traction is good, in the better half of all-season tires., with enough traction to get moving and stop adequately. As to be expected, ice traction is mediocre. Really, though, these tires offer a smooth and quiet ride above all other characteristics.

...They were decent in light snow... This past winter (only the second one on these tires) our AWD SUV felt like a roller skate on even light snow...

At first these are comfortable and responsive with reasonable road noise. They were decent in light snow. But after only 23,000 miles they are down to 3/32 and LOUD, they won't make it but another couple thousand miles tread wise and the noise is horrible. This past winter (only the second one on these tires) our AWD SUV felt like a roller skate on even light snow. The soft rubber compounds make these quiet at first and seem great but as the sipes that aren't full depth wear away and more rubber is contacting the road they are just trash.

...These Goodyear Assurance tires do admirable in snowy conditions, for an all-season tire. Granted, they are not winter/snow tires, which would be better in the winter snow and ice, but, they do fine...

Best tire we have had on this older Honda Civic to date. Very comfortable tire with excellent handling and traction in both dry and wet conditions. These tires are holding up well for longevity, I expect to get at least the rated mileage out of them. I recommended these tires to two other friends with similar vehicles and they purchased them and love them as well. These Goodyear Assurance tires do admirable in snowy conditions, for an all-season tire. Granted, they are not winter/snow tires, which would be better in the winter snow and ice, but, they do fine. I recommend these tires.

...The tires perform very quickly on my Honda Accord 2.0T touring car... I can take curves just like the description says...

I have over 1800 miles on tires now. These tires are very quiet. I feel the tires sticking to the ground in wet weather. I can hear the tires evacuating water in a very quiet spray of water. The tires perform very quickly on my Honda Accord 2.0T touring car. I am very happy with these and glad that I took a chance knowing that Goodyear Assurance Comfort Drive tires do what the manufacturer says they do. These tires are new since September 2020 and worth every penny. They are amazing. I can take curves just like the description says

...They are quiet and provide a smooth ride...

These tires are far superior to the OEM tires they replaced. They are quiet and provide a smooth ride. I have had them for a year and about ten thousand miles. I have not had a lot of snow to deal with but when I have they performed as expected. Driving in heavy rain is very good and I have confidence in avoiding hydroplaning.

...Absorbs road imperfections and rides very smooth. A very quiet tire...

Just bought the tires. Had less than 100 miles. Absorbs road imperfections and rides very smooth. A very quiet tire. So far, if you are looking for something very sporty, this is not your tire. If your looking for a quiet, smooth, shock absorbing tire, this is it. These are my initial impressions. I am very happy that I decided to give this tire a go. Only time will tell if they hold up.

I was looking for something for comfort and these tires fit the bill quite well. The General AS-05s that came with my car performed well enough, but I hated the way I seemed to feel every crack and imperfection in the road. Just basically no cushioning at all between myself and the road. I wanted a smoother and quieter ride, more like I get with my Wintrac Pro tires I use for winter driving.

I can agree about someone saying these ComfortDrives need a break-in period of about 1,000 miles. I noticed the road noise specifically on severely weathered pavement where it has a lot of exposed rocks. I would say now they're quieter on those surfaces. The tires do absorb a lot of road imperfections and are much more comfortable to ride on. You won't notice every nook and cranny and ones you do notice will be more softened. They help a lot for long road trips and they easily hold their own changing lanes and maneuvering on highways and washed dirt roads, including a 15% grade stretch downhill I took in Colorado.

I dismounted them yesterday for winter so I did not drive them in any snow or ice but they were very good in rains, including at 75 mph highway.
