The Assurance CS featuring Fuel Max Technology is Goodyear's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season light truck tire developed for the drivers of crossover, sport utility vehicles and light duty pickup trucks looking for tires that offer long wear, wet traction and low rolling resistance as some of their top priorities. The Assurance CS Fuel Max is designed to provide year-round, all-season traction in dry, wet and wintry weather conditions, including light snow, as well as offer reduced rolling resistance to enhance vehicle fuel economy over the tire's lifetime.

The Assurance CS Fuel Max uses a fuel-saving tread compound that reduces the energy consumed as the tire rolls. Its tread design features inboard and outboard Dry Tread Zones featuring sturdy shoulder blocks to enhance handling in dry conditions. A central Wet Tread Zone with Dual Aquachannel grooves evacuate water to promote wet weather traction while engineered sipes increase the number of biting edges to enhance traction in snow. The tire's reinforced internal structure features twin steel belts for strength on top of a polyester casing that enhances ride quality.

*Specific sizes featuring Fuel Max technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Goodyear Assurance CS Fuel Max Reviews

Ratings highlight excellence in comfort and treadwear, with many customers scoring these categories 9-10 for a smooth, quiet ride and long-lasting performance. Winter traction earns praise (scores 7-9) for reliable handling in snow, though ice traction shows more variability (scores 3-8). Wet traction consistently impresses with 7-10 ratings for grip and hydroplaning resistance. Dry traction stands out as a top strength, with numerous perfect scores for responsive handling and stability. While most drivers report strong all-season capability, a few note reduced ice performance. The tire's balanced profile-combining durability, comfort, and confident dry/wet handling-makes it a compelling choice for crossover/SUV owners prioritizing year-round versatility.

...These tires never hydroplane which is usually what the roads in NewEngland have is water on them after the salt, slush or snow and they have performed great...

Bought these tire to get better gas mileage which really didn't change 22 mpg but the treadwear as been exceptional they have 73k and will go for another 15k at 6/32 right now. The tires tend to capture pebbles into the treads which may cause the tires to last longer and increase road noise. The original OEM Tire's lasted at 55k and had a blow out. These tires never hydroplane which is usually what the roads in NewEngland have is water on them after the salt, slush or snow and they have performed great. I will repurchase these tires again from dealer. Great value and great price. I also like the triple treads but these tires have been great.

...The handling of the tire on wet roads, light snow and dry conditions is good. The tires handle well on curves...

My car currently has the Goodyear cs Assurance Fuel Max. The handling of the tire on wet roads, light snow and dry conditions is good. The tires handle well on curves as well. 4,000 miles or so ago, I have noticed major wear. I had higher expectation of the wear of the tires, but instead the tires are a major disappointment as they wore out faster than expected. I just had my car serviced at a dealership and was told I will need new tires in a few thousand miles. I have never had tires wear out so quickly that I recall.
I would not recommend these tires, nor will I buy them again.

...I think they offer a good value for the money and they perform well in all types of weather (Cleveland Ohio Weather - Rain, Snow, Ice and 90 degree summers)...

This is my second set of Goodyear Assurance CS Fuel Max tires and I feel they are a good match for my Honda CRV. I think they offer a good value for the money and they perform well in all types of weather (Cleveland Ohio Weather - Rain, Snow, Ice and 90 degree summers). My only complaint is they only lasted for 53,000 miles with the last 10,000 miles showing signs of needing to be replaced ( I guess I pushed these tires a little longer than I should have). The last 10,000 miles the tires became a bit louder and the performance was down as the tread depth was down. If you understand that these tires will only last 45,000 miles or so, and that they performed very well up until that point then you should be fine with your purchase as I have been.

The Goodyear Assurance CS FuelMax keeps my Highlander attached to the freeways of Southern California much more than did the stock Toyo Open Country tires. I no longer experience land drift and the low rolling resistance of the Goodyear tires has increased my mpg by one mile per gallon.

...These tires are smooth riding as your going to get in a truck and are very quiet...

Bought these tires via the navy exchange in 2015 in corpus christi Texas. Since them i have thrown everything at them from deep powder sand, tons if highway and city miles as well as lots of rain, snow and ice ( and potholes) that michigan is known for in a heavy, all time 4x4 vehicle such as the jeep hemi wk.These tires are smooth riding as your going to get in a truck and are very quiet. At first I was hesitant because they are not all terrain tires for the 4x4 to fully take advNtage of but I have been thus far proven wrong on almost every occasion. These things eat up highway, city and undeveloped roads with ease, especially with a 4x4 system.I only ding them for ice and deep snow traction, which with a highway tire your not going to see performance anyways. Most notably is the 63,000 miles I have put on them without a single defect showing and i have tortured these things through 115 degree days of highway driving to - 20 degree michigan -------- road driving...hitting its fair share of rim bender potholes without breaking sidewall or bulging. I have never hydroplaned in them! They also hold up to the namesake returning good gas mileage (especially when new) for a truck tire. The only wear i have noteced is on the outside edge of the tire ( more due to bad alignment ) than road driving a 4x4. They are a pricey tire but your buying peace of mind with these. Would highly reccommend unless you live in alaksa, buffalo, or some other frigid place with lots of ice and snow or perhaps if you live out in the country with lots of dirt roads.

...The tread is still very significant at this point. Bought these same tires back in 2011, so they lasted 4 summers the last set...

This is the first tire that has lasted at least 27k miles on my wife's 2008 Toyota Highlander. The Bridgestone Duelers didn't last. Installed these in April of 2015 and have 28k on them (summer milage only). The tread is still very significant at this point. Bought these same tires back in 2011, so they lasted 4 summers the last set. Would surely buy them again if they keep up the 4-5 summer lifespan on an all-wheel drive truck. They have a good, quiet ride. Thanks for reading.
