The Assurance MaxLife is Goodyear's Standard Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, minivans, crossovers, and coupes looking for a tire to help conserve fuel, prolong tread life and provide all-season traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even light snow.
The symmetric pattern of Assurance MaxLife tires features a continuous center rib for constant rubber-to-road contact and solid on-center feel. The intermediate ribs of the Assurance MaxLife feature Goodyear's Wear Gauge, which provides a visual indication of the tire's remaining tread depth, allowing drivers to continually monitor their tires' condition, instead of simply providing a warning at the end of their life. Notched intermediate ribs and semi-closed shoulders help the Assurance MaxLife track straight on the highway, while providing block edges for grip in wet conditions and, along with the deep circumferential grooves, a path to evacuate water from the contact patch to resist hydroplaning. The all-season compound and multiple sipes help provide confident all-season traction in inclement weather.
The internal construction of the Assurance MaxLife consists of two steel belts supported by a single-ply, polyester casing. A one-ply, polyamide reinforcement aids handling response and delivers high-speed capability.

Breaking Down Tire Performance Categories - 2024 Special Test With Winter Update (26:05)
We understand that tire performance categories can be confusing. You want an all-season tire, but there are several all-season categories; how do you know which one is right for you? You want a summer tire, but again, which summer category? In this special demonstration, we took six all-season tires from three all-season categories and three summer tires from two summer categories to lay it out for you. Category-leading tires from the Standard Touring All-Season, Grand Touring All-Season, Ultra High Performance All-Season, Max Performance Summer, and Extreme Performance Summer categories are tested so you can see exactly what each "step up" gets you as a driver and what trade-offs were made along the way.
Customer surveys indicate the Goodyear Assurance MaxLife excels in treadwear, with many ratings in the 9-10 range, showing minimal rapid wear concerns. Comfort receives strong praise for smooth ride quality and low noise levels. Winter traction is highly rated in snow and slush, though ice traction shows occasional lower scores (3-7 range) in some feedback. Wet performance is consistently strong, with excellent hydroplaning resistance and grip. Dry traction earns near-perfect scores, with drivers highlighting responsive handling and stability. While a few note ice performance as less confident, the tire delivers reliable all-season capability, aligning well with its touring design for everyday driving.

...Wet and ice traction are really good, the deep snow not so much. We live a bit out of town and the roads don't always get plowed, so have got stuck in snow. As soon as we hit the highway, tires gripped nicely and ran smooth.
So far they have exceeded my expectation in every way. I thought the tires were going to be hard as a rock to the the crazy mileage warranty, but they are awesome even in harsh Ontario winter conditions. Wet and ice traction are really good, the deep snow not so much. We live a bit out of town and the roads don't always get plowed, so have got stuck in snow. ...I've never had them hydroplane or make me feel unstable in wet conditions. Of course, use common sense when driving in bad weather, but no issues for me. Cornering and handling are great...
No issues at all! The Continental tires that were OE on my Ford Escape were noisier, had less traction (in all conditions), and didn't have as nice of a ride as the Goodyear Assurance Maxlifes do! I drive a mix of city and highway, and also do a few road trips per year in various conditions. I've driven on gravel, snow, rain, ice, and anything else that was in the way. The Goodyears are excellent in all conditions, and handle nicely while still offering a quieter, smooth ride.
On snow, they aren't as great as an actual snow tire, but they are better than average for an all season. I've never had them hydroplane or make me feel unstable in wet conditions. Of course, use common sense when driving in bad weather, but no issues for me. Cornering and handling are great. No screeching or traction loss in corners or sharp curves. I tend to be a little spirited sometimes, so I do notice when a tire has an issue gripping around corners. They also do well with braking in both dry and wet. These have gotten me through slick spots up hills that other vehicles, (including other AWD's and 4x4's) weren't able to get over.
If you have an Escape Titanium with the 19's, get these. So much better than the OE Continentals in all conditions. Even if you don't have the same vehicle, get them. Great all-around tire!

Most customers rate snow and deep snow traction 9s-10s, with ice scores mostly 7-8. Excellent winter performance for an all-season tire, offering reliable grip despite occasional lower ice ratings.

...Living in the Northeast, winter traction is a big concern but these did very well in both light and deep snow the first two winters. The past winter (3rd), however, was a bit on the touchy side...
I did my research before purchasing these and for the first 30,000 was mostly pleased. Traction, noise levels and handling were all an improvement over the factory Michelin Primacy MXM4 so I had high hopes. Living in the Northeast, winter traction is a big concern but these did very well in both light and deep snow the first two winters. The past winter (3rd), however, was a bit on the touchy side. This spring and current summer I'm now experiencing issues with wet roads as well. Over 50mph, moderately wet roads are starting to upset the car with the rear getting a bit loose occasionally and yes, alignment is within spec. Braking, ride and dry handling have been fine throughout, although 3-4 rebalances have been required. The biggest issues have been treadwear and noise. At 43,000 miles my 85k tires are down to about 4/32 so there is no way possible these will see another 40k of service. In all fairness, the factory tires only made it about 30k of their 55k lifespan so apparently these new Accords are hard on rubber. That being said, I would not feel safe trying to make another winter, so they are being replaced. The other big issue is noise. They started quiet but have gotten progressively worse to the point that I it sounds like I'm running big rig super singles. People actually look when I'm driving because of the noise. Like I said, first 30k was great, last 13k it's like a different tire. These might be great for another application, but don't seem to be right for mine. I spoke with a fantastic customer service representative from Tire Rack about my warranty and she was able to help. I will be replacing these with a set of Vredestein Quatrac Pro. Hopefully they will suit me better.

I was told i had to get an ev tire by alot of people after doing so reaching i when with these I needed something for the amount of driving I do. I seen a little decrease on my rang but it made up for it in all other parts. When u can do 60 in the snow and still handles like dry I say great tires.

I got the tires during a snow storm so tested right away in snowy/icy conditions and they were a substantial improvement over the worn tires, but was still sliding some when braking and starting...
I was interested in the goodyear comfortreds afer reading good reviews and finding a good price on them after rebate, but ended up with these on the wife's mini van on recommendation of the service tech who said they do well on minivans which usually chew through tires quickly since they are so heavy. Got about 40k out of the original Michelin primacy mxv4s which wasn't terrible but a little disappointing. I got the tires during a snow storm so tested right away in snowy/icy conditions and they were a substantial improvement over the worn tires, but was still sliding some when braking and starting. I drove my Mazda Cx5 a short time later (has bridgestone duelers) and was barely sliding, but it is probably a lot lighter and has 4w drive so might not be a fair comparison. I also felt like they were noticeably nosier and felt more bumps on the drive home in the ice or snow, but hasn't been as noticeable when driving it on cleaner dry roads and the wife drives the van a lot more and she hasn't complained about comfort. So I would say they are at least decent tires but I'm not blown away by them. Hopefully they last a long time as is their big selling point.

...These tires handle extremely well on the highway, city and back roads in all conditions...
Goodyear's Assurance MaxLife is an excellent tire overall. Actually, the best tires I've had in the past 10+ years, and that's spanning a dozen+ different vehicles. Unfortunately, I only had the pleasure to put around 2,000 miles on them before my Cherokee was totaled. I would not consider these tires for off road use, but then again they are not designed for that. These tires handle extremely well on the highway, city and back roads in all conditions (I can not comment on deep snow or tire wear due to the short duration I had them). Goodyear considers the Assurance MaxLife a Standard Touring All-Season tire, but I believe it should be in a premium level category such as with the Grand Touring All-Season tires. I highly recommend. I'm currently buying another set for a Kia Soul, and soon to be Buick Enclave.

Very comfortable ride which was my first objective along with long life. Tire has more tread depth than most other tires. Like the design as this influences the quietness of the tire. At 72 years old I have had Michelin, Pirelli, and other top of the line tires. Currently this tire may be the best. Kudos to Goodyear for making an excellent tire.
San Diego does not have Winter conditions so could not rate that factor. Will provide information about wet /rain conditions in a few months. Treadwear will be rated after 20,000 miles but expect very good results.

...The big selling point is the tread life. If you don't deal with the snow and ice much then this is a great tire that will last a long time.
In normal Wet/Dry weather the tire performs just fine, I've been happy with it in that aspect. When it comes to the Snow/Ice conditions here in Brighton Michigan, I have not been impressed. I have had ok traction in light snow and ice, I think there definitely better tires out there for those conditions in the All Season category. The big selling point is the tread life. If you don't deal with the snow and ice much then this is a great tire that will last a long time.

Rideshare is the ultimate tire torture test. 21k in so far, I just had my 4th rotation. 8/32nds of tread remaining on all 4 tires. Per specs, they started life with 11/32nds, though the tread life monitor blocks indicated 9 when new. I'm not sure if that's 9/32nds above minimum depth or overall, but either way I'm very pleased because at that rate, they'll reach 2/32nds at around 65-70k miles, possibly more. Compare that to the stock Firestone Ft140, and the replacement Destination LE3s which made it 45k and 40k respectively, and that's a massive improvement. My van feels better than new. Confident and sure footed, though a hybrid minivan shouldn't be able to break tires loose on acceleration, raining or not. Also a bit noisier than I'd like, but totally livable and I'd take noise over short life any day. Buy these!
