The Assurance WeatherReady2 is Goodyear's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for drivers of compact cars, passenger sedans, and crossover SUVs looking for the smooth and quiet ride of a premium touring tire combined with the year-round confidence that comes from driving a vehicle equipped with all-weather tires, having met industry severe snow service requirements and qualifying for the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Assurance WeatherReady2 callouts

Assurance WeatherReady2 tires feature a soybean oil derived compound molded into a directional tread pattern designed to maintain traction in all weather conditions. In addition, taking advantage of small, regular variations in tread block size, the Assurance WeatherReady 2 uses multi-pitch sequencing to dissipate road sounds and comfort inserts in the sidewall to smooth out uneven road surfaces for a comfortable ride. Goodyear's AquaTred technology comes alive in heavy rain, with V-shaped grooves expelling water and slush, enhancing both wet weather handling and wintertime snow traction. The soybean oil compound ensures the tire remains grippy and flexible when the temperature drops.

The Assurance WeatherReady2's internals make use of two layers of polyester plies surrounded by twin steel belts for the right blend of strength, rigidity and straight-line tracking. A polyamide cap completes the package, providing additional stability at highway speeds.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

...the traction and grip of these tires on wet conditions are amazing.

These tires are definitely noisy if you have an electric car and you also get a hit to fuel efficiency (10-15% less), BUT, the traction and grip of these tires on wet conditions are amazing.

Love this tire. It offers piece of mind even in wet and snowy conditions. The traction is great. Even with the extra grip, the road noise is minimal. I would recommend and will definitely purchase again when needed.

The stock tires were ok but certainly couldn’t hold up to a northeast winter. Let me tell you based on a huge snow (and ice) storm recently these tires did a fantastic job. The vehicle is AWD and has a manual transmission component. Used that and the tires moved the car through the mess on the ground. I’m a strong advocate for these type of all season tires. Bought Goodyear cause the price was right and it’s an American brand. Strongly recommend. Tire Rack does great reviews. First time buyer of Goodyear tires.

The handling during this past Maryland snowstorm exceeded expectations. I am so please with the purchase which was made soon after I bought the car last June...

The stock tires had a tread depth of 220. That’s pathetic. I wanted more tread life but better traction in winter. These tires are snow rated just like the Michelin Cross Contact. Very similar tread pattern. Wanted to buy an “American” brand but tires were made in Chile. The handling during this past Maryland snowstorm exceeded expectations. I am so please with the purchase which was made soon after I bought the car last June. Strongly recommend.

...Great traction in the snow (the best I've driven outside of a full snow tire) - tire bites - and good all around driveability...

Best tire I've owned and I probably have bought 15 complete sets of tires. Great traction in the snow (the best I've driven outside of a full snow tire) - tire bites - and good all around driveability. I drive a CX9 and am happy with the side-to-side maneuverability - side wall sufficiently stiff. Naturally, you need to keep the tires properly inflated. Tread wear acceptable. Road noise I havent noticed. Should get 45k miles no problem. This tire checks all my boxes for the CX9 and I have recommended it to my oldest up in CT as well as friends and family.

I had these put on my car when it was new. I’m usually not impressed with what the manufacturers use for tires. I drive in all seasons and all weather. I have a pretty good commute. These tires do not disappoint. They are decent in snow although not a dedicated winter tire. The wet and dry traction are both very good. These tires are perfect for someone who doesn’t want to have separate winter tires. They are a great bad weather tire that also does well in good weather. I would definitely buy them again.

...Note, fuel economy does drop(about 3mpg for us), but very good traction on dry pavement and in rain(light or heavy)...

These tires have been wonderful on a 2015 Ford Focus for summer time. Winter time, I'm sure they'd be great if we had a narrower size, but due to the size(these tires are a 235/40/r18, we run a winter tire at a 195/60/16) we run during the summer and the weight of the car, more than a couple inches of snow and we're unable to sink down to the road. Ice, we had decent stop and start, cornering/turning had a lack of response. Note, fuel economy does drop(about 3mpg for us), but very good traction on dry or wet pavement and in rain(light or heavy). Hydroplain has become pert near non existent now for us.

...I typically get from 60,000 to 70,000 miles on a set of tires because I keep the tire pressure within 80 to 90% of maximum tire pressure rating...

The tread design and high mileage rating are what I look for in a set of tires, and I have been through more tire brands than I want to think about. This set of tires is as good as it gets for me. I typically get from 60,000 to 70,000 miles on a set of tires because I keep the tire pressure within 80 to 90% of maximum tire pressure rating. In my vehicle these tires stop on the proverbial dime and give you some change. That is due to a combination of things like good disc brakes, pads, etc. These tires are not low profile, thankfully.

Most tires today have a maximum psi rating of 51. I see people driving on tires they never check where the pressure drops down in the low 20 psi range. If you are driving a low profile tire, too low of pressure can cause a tire to wear out too early, with the possibility of blowing out the tire. I try to keep tire pressure on front tires between 38 and 40, and between 36 and 38 in rear when not hauling a lot of weight in cargo area. Bump that up about 4 psi if hauling heavy loads.
