Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season 

As many know the 2011 Subaru Outback Limited comes with crappy Continental tires that get flat spots if it sits to long has a really bad floaty feel and not sure footed. Plus 60 series sidewalls are limited on options of tires. so went down to 55 series and up to a 235 width, car handles so much better, more predicable, and quieter. Can't wait to try it out in the rain and snow. I still have problems with the known Subaru vibration issue (suspension / drive-train issue) but on the side roads with hard corners, outback hands even more like a car now then an crossover. Now if only the known subaru vibration issue could be figured out!

more updates to follow once i get more miles on the tire, since a lot people say these tires need a few hundred miles (about 500) before they really show what they can do. So far VERY happy!

UPDATE driving in the rain!

Tires are awesome in the rain, handles as if its dry out, took exit ramps at speed, standing water in tire ruts on highway at 65 no issues at all. Oh even with leaves on the road didnt notice them either.

Snow update to follow once we get some!

I bought these to replace a set of Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs, as I wanted to move to a single set of tires. I use this car mostly for fun and summer performance and wanted to lean far in that direction, yet have the ability to drive in the winter, as I also use it as a backup in case my daily goes down.
My initial impression when I pulled away from my supplier's shop was that I had bought the wrong tire, as the steering felt numb and unresponsive, and I didn't feel like I had much grip. As it turns out, they just needed to be scuffed. After about 100 miles, they began to wake up, and after about 200, they fully came alive. Steering response is now point and shoot, and the traction is amazingly almost at the level of the Dunlops, which were one step down from a full on track tire, with the added bonus of improved predictability.
Wet grip on these tires is unparallelled. It feels like the car is on rails even at highway speeds in heavy rain. They feel like a dedicated rain tire, and I'd even go as far as to say it feels like they don't suffer grip loss at all in light to moderate rain.
In the winter, they get by and nothing more. This is what I was going for though, I only needed them to work, not perform in the snow, and considering how well they do on dry and wet roads, the trade off is expected and well worth it.
It's hard to say how comfortable they are, as my car is lowered on Koni Yellow shocks/springs and is a pretty harsh ride even with the dampers set all the way soft, but they seem a little better than the old Dunlops. What I do notice though is how much quieter they are, even with a completely stripped interior I'm not deaf after a drive anymore. I'm not noticing any treadwear so far, but I only have 2k miles on them, so it's hard to say.
Overall an excellent tire. I no longer feel the need for a dedicated set of full on summer tires to get the performance I'm looking for. It's a lot simpler to run a single set of these year round.

I have only had these tires for about a week. So this review is really just an initial opinion, and a quick comparison to my OEM tires.

My OEM Dunlop RFT tires were pretty worn. They had 45k miles. Since buying the Mini Cooper S brand new in '09, I had not liked the tires. Rough ride. Noisy. Unforgiving and fairly slick in wet or snowy conditions. I knew within 5 miles that switching to this non-RFT Goodyear F1 was a smart move. The ride is far smoother and quieter. The traction has been excellent in both rain and a bit of snow/slush. I really can't say enough about the change in ride comfort. I used to feel every crack in the road like it was a crater. The RFTs were so stiff. The F1s just glide over the road imperfections by comparison. I will gladly rely on Fix-a-Flat and my Roadside Assistance for for the great improvement in comfort and handling.

These are a great set of all season tires. I've only put about 1500 miles on them so far so I can't rate the treadwear yet but I've had the opportunity to get a feel for them in a wide variety of driving conditions. They exceeded my expectations in all conditions, particularly in the rain and light snow. Just as it warmed up enough that I felt that I should swap my winter tires out for these we were hit with a significant amount of snow. Fortunately these tires performed nearly as well as my winter set and kept me cruising confidently down the road. I'd recommend these to anyone interested in a quality set of all season tires.

I've owned these tires during a summer in CT, a fall in MI, and the snow-taccular winter in the City of Chicago. Never in any circumstance have these tires let me down. In fact I had to give them a 10 for hydroplaning resistance because these are the first set of tires I've owned (and I used to get new tires every year for awhile) that resisted hydroplaning. In instances where past tires would squirm.

They are confidence-inspiring, and I lived in the City of Chicago during the winter. I'm not talking the "nicer" more "user-friendly" roads in the suburbs. I'm talking NON-main road usually neglected side street, I don't own a garage gotta parallel park in tons of snow Chicago. And not once, in any of my adventures did I feel nervous. Not that I never slid, but where other all-season tires were doing crazy things based on ice-snow and non-level ground, these tires could be gently coaxed to do what they had to do. I usually had traction. And if I didn't, some rocking momentum would get me on my way.

Based on their great capabilities in wet and ice/snow, no point in talking about them in dry. If you live in the Midwest or anywhere it will snow, but you can't afford dedicated snow tires, just buy these and be done!

Grip. Although I have only put 5000 miles on these, I have driven thru heavy rains and a snowy icy rain storm that closed several roads on Christmas eve. I am so impressed with the grip and control these gave me. Best I've ever had on any car, any tire. Really surefooted. Much better than the Bridgestones they replaced or the Michelyn OEMs. The Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tire was probably a bit quieter at highway speed when new, but not after 45000 miles. The Goodyears are very quiet and have excellent dry response too, but what really stands out is their wet and ice and light snow performance. Well done Goodyear! I am so glad to see a next generation all season performance tire from Goodyear. Hope we can say goodby to some of the legacy Goodyear dogs. I would buy these Eagle F1 Asymmetrics again in a heartbeat.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric AS has surprised me tremendously after 2500 miles. I had been considering comparable tires from Bridgestone and Continental, but selecting a replacement Goodyear for the first time in 30 years of driving has left me with no regrets.

With sharp response and high cornering grip, it proves a 50-series sidewall is low-profile enough for the demands of a front-drive platform in sprited street and freeway driving. The tire could be more communicative, but in dry and wet, all expectations have been surpassed for responsiveness, grip, and smoothness from an all-season tire. No snow has hit the DFW metroplex yet, but I'm not concerned.

This tire is a nice match for the 1st-gen Mazda 3s GT with the larger 17x6.5 wheels. It's even better with the lighter aftermarket wheels I bought shortly after (after discovering bent inner rims) in 17x7 with slightly less positive offset (meaning they come closer to the fender lip). Gaining a slighly wider track transformed the car's handling even more. The rim protector appears strange on this tire, but it may be less noticeable with a different wheel design.

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric AS is an excellent tire at a competitive price.

I wanted to change the excellent Original Equipment (OE) summer tires (Contisupercontact 5P, 235-35 ZR19) that came with the car with ultra high performance all seasons. In Nebraska where I drive, temperatures get cold, but the roads are usually cleared of snow in a day or two, so I did not consider snow tires; ultra high performances all seasons are fine for my driving needs. The snow tires are really horrible on dry conditions for spirited driving. Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric tires I bought did not disappoint me. The dry handling and traction are just a little below the performance of the OE tires. Straight line stability at 75 m/h is slightly worse, and dry cornering is almost as good as the OE Contis. The noise is comparable to OE tires. The side stiffness is such that the ride improved noticeably compared to OE tires. The durability of the tires improved tremendously (as expected.) The wet traction of these tires including cornering, breaking and resistance to hydroplaning is excellent (when new, I may update any change as the mileage increases.) The 2015 Audi S3 with summer tires and magneto-rheological dampers is a car of very high capabilities. The substitution of the summer tires with all-seasons did slightly lower these capabilities as expected but that is the price I would gladly pay for cold temperature operations. I have previously used Eagle GT all seasons and Kumho Ecsta all seasons with a Mazdaspeed 6 (215-45 WR18) and Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tires are much better. Unless you are on a track, these tires are excellent for your daily driving and will not make you want for the performance summer tires. I recommend these tires to owners of performance sedans and sport cars that are operated routinely at temperatures of 40 F and lower.

When I purchased my Mustang, I was concerned about the wear of a "high performance summer" tire. I ordered the optional 20 inch wheels with the 265/35-20 Eagle F1 Asymmetric tire thinking that the wide tire will work better in handling, and tire will last longer. I also add PSI to my tires (to accommodate for weight distribution.. 53/47) and use 40 in front, 37 in the rear and rotate every 10K-15K. The increased pressure makes makes this a tire that responds very quickly...and I say that coming out of a 2019 WRX...it's almost that quick. The 22 GT standard suspension is a nice combination of ride and handling....

The tires do not hydroplane at all, and I have to intentionally add gas to lose traction in the wet. I've scared myself on dry mountain roads and tight turns by exceeding the speed limit by 20 mph or more...sometimes unintentionally...Not even a noise objection from the tires...they just want to grip...

I have 33,333 miles on the tires and should easily get another 20.... 9/32" new, have 6+/32" now.... AND they drive flat and all are wearing at the same rate....

Very pleased and surprised with this tire...and will definitely buy the same when these are ready to go....

Took a chance with these tires for my Porsche 993. Wanted a tire that will allow me to drive when it's cold and perhaps a little snow on the ground, especially when the temperatures drop to a point that summer high performance tires are a bad choice. Also wanted to add a little ride comfort. These are a great choice so far. Comfortable, very little trade off in handling over a high performance summer tire, and the price was right. Plus I'll use the Porsche this winter rather than being put away until spring. In fact, unless you're tearing up local roads or running at the track, theses are perfect for typical suburban driving. Time will tell if they hold up, but for now I'm happy with the choice. As a sidenote, the Porsche shop that serviced my car scoffed at A/S tires when I went in. But after he drove the car, his reaction changed. Said he had a hard time breaking free even during hard driving, and that handling was almost as good as the high $ tires.

I don't have much experience with tires, but I'm really happy with these. They are clearly the best of the 3 sets I've had on my 325i, which included the stock Continental ContiTouringContact (junk) and the previous-generation Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S (excellent). Some impressions:

RIDE QUALITY: I was expecting a harsher ride, but these are the most comfortable tires I've had so far. They're firm yet supple, deal with harsh impacts (e.g. horrible NYC-area roads) exceptionally well, and are smooth on all sorts of highway surfaces. A perfect match to my car's suspension.

NOISE: Another surprise - these tires are extremely quiet, especially after break-in. In absolute loudness they probably aren't the quietest tires around, but the noise signature is pleasant and non-intrusive across all surfaces, with no droning or roar. The stock touring Continentals may have been tad quieter at their prime, but that lasted all of a couple thousand miles.

GAS MILEAGE: I noticed a couple MPG drop on the highway when going from the Continentals to Michelins, so I was expecting a further drop when moving to a higher-perforance tire. But so far, the mileage has been as good as, maybe even a little better than the Michelins - still getting around 29 MPG highway. Stop-and-go mileage is not so hot, but that has never been great on my car anyway.

WET/SNOW GRIP: In the rain, these tires are unflappable and confidence-inspiring - the grip is really impressive. In light snow, no A/S tire is going to be particularly good, but these did ok and were perfectly driveable. Just don't expect to be able to get out of even modest snow drifts.

All-in-all, a terrific tire. Don't be fooled by the "ultra high performance" rating - on the right car these are very comfortable, livable tires that also happen to perform exceptionally well. My mother-in-law needs new tires for her Audi A3 TDI, and these are the no-brainer choice. Love 'em.

Just got these. Grippy and so very plush vs the hard, feel every bump one road, Oem run flat Michelin tires. Really a different car. Still as responsive but they just run straight and true. The run flats were skittish and all over the road. Will absolutely purchase again

These are the best tires I've had as far as tread wear and performance on any Mercedes that I have owned for the last 20 years. I would definitely buy them again.

Had these for 25K and they are very precise. A bit hard riding which I don't mind...I prefer precise. Replaced with Michelin 3s...too soft...not precise...only good for a cushy ride.

Not a big fan of Goodyear tires. They just don't work for me. All ready had a flat at 1060 miles, maybe not the tires fault but everytime I have had Goodyears I get a lot of flats.
