Customers Say
Driver feedback indicates the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 delivers exceptional dry traction, with enthusiasts highlighting strong grip, predictable cornering, and stable performance during track sessions and aggressive driving. Wet conditions reveal limitations, including hydroplaning risks in standing water and reduced confidence under heavy acceleration, though some note adequate control in light rain when driven carefully. Treadwear receives praise for a 200TW extreme performance tire, with many reporting consistent grip through multiple heat cycles and track days, though rapid wear is common under hard street use or high-power applications.

...Dry grip remain consistent until the end of its life cycle.
Phenomenal track day tire with good on road manner. This tire gives you everything you expected from a track day tire, steering response is much better than Cup2, and last very long. Dry grip remain consistent until the end of its life cycle.

...They definitely delivered better grip than the RE71R for this car probably due to the load rating that was lower than the OE on the Bridgestone. They were more predictable at the limit as well with huge amount of lateral G (1.3G) and a smooth break when they lose it.
I use my Audi S5 as a daily as well as taking it out to the track 3-5 times a year.
I had Bridgestone RE71R and purchased the Goodyear Supercar 3 as a trial.
They definitely delivered better grip than the RE71R for this car probably due to the load rating that was lower than the OE on the Bridgestone.
They were more predictable at the limit as well with huge amount of lateral G (1.3G) and a smooth break when they lose it.
I was also very pleased to see how they held up the grip as they wore out with great lap times all the way to the cord.
The reaction to road imperfection is real however as noted in the Tire Rack test. This is annoying but does not unbalance the car.
I did not have a chance to test the wet grip on track, but I experienced little to no aquaplaning on the roads even after a couple of track weekends on the tires.
The Goodyear were also much quieter and comfortable on the road than the Bridgestone that sounded and felt a bit like steel wheels.
Overall, I had 3 weekends at the track with this set (24 X 20-30 minutes on track) and probably 1500 on road driven miles which I was not able to achieve with the RE71R.
would definitely recommend the Goodyear for track days.
only drawback I see compared to the RE71R is that they are asymmetric so they cannot be rotated on the wheels… but they lasted longer than the RE71R even after rotating them so all in all this is not such a bad thing…

...Equal in terms of feel, braking, turn in to the Toyo's I'd been running for years. Biggest difference? This tire did not have the same fall off when they got hot...
My initial set was experienced when I bought a used set of track wheels and the Goodyears were in good shape so decided to try them. What a surprise! Equal in terms of feel, braking, turn in, braking to the Toyo’s I’d been running for years. Biggest difference? This tire did not have the same fall off when they got hot. So and win, win and so much so I bought a new set from Tire Rack.

Most reviews scoring 7-8 highlight the Supercar 3's impressive treadwear for an Extreme Performance tire, with users achieving 10,000+ miles and multiple track days. While some note quicker wear under heavy use, others praise consistent grip through heat cycles and sessions, viewing tread life as excellent for their high-performance focus.

Great for track use! Also not bad for highway driving. I think they last a long time for highway use considering the 200 treadwear rating.

...Tires exhibit no scrubbing, abnormal wear, or anything concerning after being put through their paces...
Great grip and wear characteristics. I was running RE-71r tires before this. Those got really greasy once they got warmed up. I originally had RE-71RS on order, but with no delivery date in sight, opted for these Goodyears. I am thoroughly impressed. They hold up well, and are consistent, lap after lap. I have about 2 and a half hours on them so far. First time out I set my personal best at Thompson Speedway. One month later and I was able to match those times, even with significantly higher track temperatures. Tires exhibit no scrubbing, abnormal wear, or anything concerning after being put through their paces. I'll definitely be considering these again. For reference I have a staggered set -245/40/18 front, 275/40 18 rear.

...Wearing really well too, whole season of 70+ autocross runs and a few hours of track time.
Great tire for track days and autocross. Doesn't fall off with a lot of heat in it, and stays stable through a 20min track session. It's a great drive-to-event-and-back tire. Wearing really well too, whole season of 70+ autocross runs and a few hours of track time.

Reviews scoring 6 and below highlight poor wet traction, with multiple reports of hydroplaning and slippery handling in rain. Users note mediocre performance, requiring cautious driving even in light wet conditions. Despite being an Extreme Performance Summer tire, wet grip is a significant weakness, often described as unacceptable for confident wet weather use.

...As far as wet traction is concerned, wel, it's 'ok', but keep in mind they are low profile, wide, and you've got 455 Hp going to the rear wheels. For track events in the rain (which I had), I had to be more careful applying the throttle on track outnof tight turns of if there was anynoff camber in the corner. I think the wet performance was reasonable given it was intended as a dry tire, and it gets that down beautifully...
I¿ve done a few track days with these tires on my 2017 Camaro SS 1LE. In the dry, it¿s a brilliant tire on a brilliant car. I have the utmost confidence in these tires and then are predictable even when you get them hot. I found that the tires temperature and tire pressure was easy to keep consistent at a good operational temp and pressure through the whole track session. I love these tires and will be using them again. As far as wet traction is concerned, wel, it¿s ¿ok¿, but keep in mind they are low profile, wide, and you¿ve got 455 Hp going to the rear wheels. I don¿t expect that other track performances tires would fare much better unless it was a dedicated wet race tire.

...As others have stated, these tires are lacking in wet weather performance. They hydroplane easily and don't have high ultimate grip, but it's a small price to pay for incredible dry performance...
These tires came on my 2018 Camaro SS 1LE. They are now down to the cords after 7,800 hard miles which includes two track days, a couple road trips, a half day of hooning on a dry lake bed, and a few thousand miles of very spirited mountain/canyon driving. As expected, they do wear quickly but considering the abuse I've put them through, it's hard to complain. Performance is fantastic on dry roads. They stick like glue, steering response is sharp, and they communicate well. They're also very predictable and progressive as they lose grip which makes them a joy to drive hard. Track performance is incredible lap after lap with minimal performance degradation or greasiness. As others have stated, these tires are lacking in wet weather performance. They hydroplane easily and don't have high ultimate grip, but it's a small price to pay for incredible dry performance. I highly recommend these tires and will be buying them again.

...Not particularly fond of wet performance. Bridgestone RE-71 or Michelin Pilot Sport 4S would be a better option in the rain...
I'm principally tracking this car (road course, not drag strip). If you are principally tracking, I would ignore most of the other reviews of this tire. This tire is only available in one size, specific to the SS 1LE or ZL, and vast majority of these owners don't track. It's a purpose built track tire. Fantastic in dry, warm environments. Great grip, responsive steering and is very manageable at the limit. Tread life is better than average 200TW category. I got 3500 miles, but the better description is 9 track days - two of which were wet. Not particularly fond of wet performance. Bridgestone RE-71 or Michelin Pilot Sport 4S would be a better option in the rain. In the dry, the GY is comparable to the RE-71R but the GY will give twice the life, and the P4S won't hold a candle to the GY in the dry. It's comparable to the Michelin Cup2 but at a fraction of the price. This tire is a bit of a one trick pony, but for the track enthusiast it's a fantastic value. I will continue to use this on track. If I find myself doing more daily driving I will probably get a second set of wheels that offer longer life, something like the P4S or Continental ExtremeContactSport, so I can save the GYs for the track.
