Goodyear Eagle GT II Reviews

Customers praise the Goodyear Eagle GT II for its excellent dry traction (frequent 9-10 scores) and strong wet performance (mostly 7-8 ratings), fitting its high-performance all-season role. Riders highlight a generally comfortable experience with smooth handling, though some note occasional road noise. Treadwear receives mixed feedback-many report solid longevity (7-8 range), while others mention faster wear in aggressive driving scenarios. The tire's balanced all-season capability shines, with consistent dry/wet grip and predictable cornering. While most drivers find it reliable year-round, a few suggest monitoring tread depth over time for optimal performance.

...They are great in the rain and decent in light snow...

I purchased the pickup late October 2011 these are the tires that came on it from factory and they have been great, figured like most trucks I've owned over the years that I would be getting new tires about 30000 but not with these, there is about 35 percent tread left. They are great in the rain and decent in light snow. I drive 25 miles to work all on pavement with 12 miles of that on interstate. I would buy the same tires when it comes time too.

The grip around corners both on dry & wet roads is above expectations. The tires have transformed this average car. In rain, very predictable.
Ride is good, considering the 40 psi at all four corners. The front tires show notable wear, however. They have not been rotated.

...Despite being all season they are terrible in the snow...

Front end vibrated at 65-70 mph immediately on purchasing these tires. They produce way more road noise than OEM tires. Ride is harsh. Despite being "all season" they are terrible in the snow. Nearly bald after 30,000 miles of relatively sedate driving. Will never purchase goodyear tires again.

These tires would probably be much better on a sports car not a truck or SUV. They handle well in the summer and on Dry pavement but in the snow and cold weather they just don't perform like they should. Having a wider size at 285/50-20 on a 1998 Tahoe does not help winter driving either. In order to get better traction in the snow I had to have the tires siped which boosted traction about 40%. The sidewalls on all 4 tires have a bulge on them and in the rain my truck tends to slide out back more. I also lost a few mpg but gained it back when the tires were siped. My next set will be the Rugged terrain TA or the Geolander A/T-S in a 275/55-20 that will help a lot in my snow traction and get a lil mopre mpg.
