Eagle LS-2 tires are the second generation of Goodyear's "Luxury Sport" Grand Touring All Season tires developed to deliver a smooth quiet ride and all-season traction, even in light snow. And while this makes them an appropriate choice for many of today's domestic and imported luxury sedans, Goodyear Eagle LS-2 tires are also used as Original Equipment on minivans, crossovers, sport utility vehicles and specialty pickup trucks.

Eagle LS-2 tires have a symmetric, independent tread block design featuring computer-optimized block sizes to minimize tread noise for a quiet ride. Wide circumferential channels help evacuate water from beneath the contact patch to enhance wet traction while sipes provide hundreds of biting edges for traction in light snow. The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by nylon (varies depending on size and speed requirements) for strength and high-speed durability.

Customers Say

Drivers find the Goodyear Eagle LS-2 delivers a smooth, quiet ride with high marks for comfort, though many report rapid tread wear and disappointing tread life. Winter traction receives mixed feedback, with some drivers noting struggles on ice and in deeper snow. Wet performance shows inconsistency, with hydroplaning concerns in heavy rain. Dry traction stands out as a strength, offering responsive handling and confident cornering. While the tire excels in comfort and dry-road performance, its shorter tread life and variable all-weather capabilities may require consideration for drivers prioritizing year-round durability.

...For my driving style, the dry handling characteristics seems fairly good, not really any complaints...

Well, I've read through most of the reviews of this tire and am deciding to add one more to the mix. Though there are some that rate this tire as horrible and few rate this tire as excellent and a will buy again. I will have to say that I'm in the crowd of won't buy again based on treadwear for sure. However, I would like to point out that it would be nice to know what size tire and what infation pressures everyone are running. Reason I ask for tire size is due to the fact that some tires of the same exact brand but different sizes come with very different treadwear ratings. This makes a big difference when someone claims that they have over 80k vs someone stating that they only were able to get 25k, in addition to other factors of course. However, I looked up the specs for this tire and noticed that treadwear for all sizes except mine, 275/55-20, were in the 400's where as mine is 360. These tires are OEM on my GMC bought in July this year. I have been running at about 38-40 cold psi so far this summer and fall. Currently, I'm at just shy of 9mm left on tread after 5k miles, new was 12mm based on spec. I would say that I drive 80% hwy and I'm easy going to average driving style since I try to get the most MPG possible. Based on this, it looks like that this tire is only going to last me roughly 20k miles to the 3mm mark. I plan on reducing pressure to 32-35 during the winter season for any gains I can get on traction in the wet and snow. So far, I can only give my opinions based on dry traction as it's been pretty dry this summer and fall. For my driving style, the dry handling characteristics seems fairly good, not really any complaints. I will update more as I get into the winter season with wet and snow handling.

The LS-2's are the OEM tire for my "unmarked" company car and I was not afraid to get on them. This set of tires had good wet and dry traction on both the highway and back country roads. The ride comfort was very good but the road noise started to get noticeably louder after 25k. I drive between Sacramento and Reno a lot and found that for an all season tire, they did just fine on ice and light snow.

I've had the car since new for 11 months and just took it in for its 40k service(tires are rotated and balanced every 10k). I was told by my serviceman that I should consider having them replaced at 50k (he said that they would make it to 50k no problem, but after that I would not want to go into the wet season with them.

Three days later I hit a rock about the size of a softball at night on a back road at 60mph, blowing out both driver side tires. I have always had this car serviced at Firestone solely because it's a mile from my home. If it was a Goodyear, I'd have a new set of LS-2s on my car right now. It's not, so i'm now on Bridgestone Turanza/Serenity tires. I will only have this car for another 25k and then it will be replaced... I'll let you know how the Bridgestones do.

...This a very comfortable and quiet tire...

Not a bad tire for an OEM fitment. I drove almost 46000 miles in 13 months on this tire and wore them to the wear bars. This a very comfortable and quiet tire. I run about 85% highway over 70mph, the rest is city and gravel roads. I was impressed with how evenly the tread wore on the 275-55/20's that came on the truck. I was surprised that the tires went 46000 miles, I was expecting about 30-35000. I was very careful to maintain proper inflation, 33F/30R, on these tires. Chevy says 30F/30R, but I found that the front tread feathered slightly at that pressure and by upping it to 33 the issue went away and the fronts wore smoothly across the face of the tread. The only reason I will not be replacing them with an identical set is that there are other manufacturers that offer tires with a 65000 mile tread warranty for almost exactly the same price. I would like another 20000 miles or so for my $750.00 set of four. Overall, I think they are a good tire that I would not feel bad about using again. A much better value than some tires in this large size.

Awesome tires! Original from factory except the one I replaced at 2200 miles due to road hazard damage. I've never hydroplaned, slipped in the snow, or had them slip on hard braking (with the help of my abs). I don't drive like a grandma and these tires don't want to wear out!!! I am over 50k now and I'm still 2/32 BEFORE the wear indicator!. Love em. I will buy this tire over and over again.

These have been the worse tires next to goodyear's wranglers. I have an all wheel drive 2012 audi A4 and felt very nervous upon damp roads and down right sick with standing water. Very Very noisy and even developed a pulsing and grinding feel while driving which went away when I purchased the Kuhmo's. I have not one good think to say about these tires and have lost all respect for Goodyear all together.

...Wet traction was poor from the beginning and I am not going to drive with them for another in winter. They are poor at best.

These tires came with my 2011 Malibu LTZ. They have worn out quickly and lost their ride quality and tracton in 20,000 miles of easy driving. GM should have provided a better tire for this level of automobile. Wet traction was poor from the beginning and I am not going to drive with them for another winter. They are poor at best.

This tire is a safety hazard for drivers in other than dry conditions. Here in the Pacific NW, these tires are dangerous due to the frequent rain and snow at higher elevations. If you are forced to drive with these tires in precipitation, take it slow and easy! These tires came on a Chrysler 200 Limited I recently purchased as a daily driver to work, and with the Fall rains just beginning, I have already had enough to make me buy a new set of tires with better wet weather traction.

...Snow and ice traction are abysmal, it's down right dangerous driving in winter conditions with these tires...

These are the O.E.M tires that came on my car, and I cant wait to replace them. Dry and wet traction are mediocre at best, it is very easy to spin the tires accelerating from a stop. Snow and ice traction are abysmal, it's down right dangerous driving in winter conditions with these tires. Tire noise after 20k miles are is unbearable. These are the worst set of tires I have ever owned period!

This tire is amazing, when it's dry out ... Handling corners, or quick, unexpected maneuvers makes this a tire a great option. However, expect no traction and increased hydroplaning risk when there's any other surface type then dry. These tires make you feel like you're all over the road in the rain, and forget about traveling in snow. Even with traction control activated, the tires could not handle even two inches of snow.

I used to be a big fan of Goodyear tires but these tires only lasted $25K miles and there is no warranty!! I bought the in Jan 2007 and had them rotated with every other oil change!! The tires performed well except for the tread ware but I can not afford to spend $600 every year and a half on tires when I had expected them to last longer. What a rip off. Now I know why they do not warranty these tires. (because they are horrible on treadware). Neither Goodyear or TireTrak would back their product and give me any discount on purchasing another set of tires so I would never purchase another Goodyear product again.

These tires came on on a new 2013 Honda Accord. They wore prematurely, feathered and cupped on the inboard part of the tire. I had the alignment checked by Honda and twice and it is within specs. Tires wore premature and I will be lucky to get another 10000 miles . Tire have road noise due to the feathering and cupped spite the fact they were rotated. Honda claims they no issues or complaints on the tires or wear patterns and must be my driving habits. BS . They will not help and Honda Canada customer service does not to solve the issue and closed the case. I would not buy these tires or a Honda Accord due to poor customer service.
