The Ecopia EP600 featuring ologic technology is Bridgestone's ecologically oriented Grand Touring All-Season tire originally developed for the drivers of BMW i3 and i8 electric cars. Designed to deliver significant improvements in tire rolling resistance and vehicle aerodynamics compared to standard sized tires, Ecopia EP600 tires reduce energy consumption to enhance vehicle range and help drivers maintain their vehicle's sporty appearance and year-round mobility while delivering all-season traction, even in light snow.

Bridgestone's ologic technology was voted "Tire Technology of the Year" in the Tire Technology International Awards for Innovation and Excellence in 2014. It combines a large diameter tire with a narrow tread pattern to conserve energy that is otherwise lost through the tire's internal friction or the vehicle's aerodynamic resistance. While the tread of smaller diameter tires experience a higher percentage of deflection as they roll, the tread of larger diameter tires can feature higher belt tension and experience a lower percentage of deflection that significantly reduces tire deformation and rolling resistance. The narrow tread also improves tire and vehicle aerodynamics that reduce drag.

Unique in appearance, Ecopia EP600 tires feature an all-season tread compound molded into a four-rib asymmetric tread design featuring a long contact patch (relative to its narrow width) that promotes grip in dry, wet and wintry conditions. Large outboard shoulder blocks backed by three notched circumferential ribs enhance dry road traction and stopping distances. A long and narrow contact patch and three circumferential grooves help the tire slice through water to enhance wet traction while multiple sipes increase the number of biting edges to increase traction in snow.

*Specific sizes featuring Ecopia technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's SPEC tab

Goodyear Eagle RS-A Reviews

Customer surveys indicate the Goodyear Eagle RS-A delivers excellent dry traction (scores 8-10 dominate) with precise steering and confident cornering, aligning with its high-performance all-season focus. Wet traction shows strong hydroplaning resistance (7-10 range common), though some report variability in heavy rain. Comfort receives praise for smooth ride quality (7-10 typical), though noise levels split opinions between "quiet" and "moderately noisy." Treadwear scores are inconsistent, with many reporting rapid wear (1-5 ratings frequent) despite some outliers noting durability. Winter traction falls short of expectations for an all-season tire, with ice/snow scores often below 5. Drivers prioritizing dry-road performance and responsive handling report high satisfaction, while those needing longevity or severe winter capability express reservations.

... I've also been able to drive at highway speed while the rain was pouring in sheets with very high confidence...

They're not ultra-high performance tires, don't fool yourself, but since these tires are 20mm wider than stock, the pressure being run is lower and they are just a joy. I'll quickly admit that they aren't great at carving corners in the wet, but I've also been able to drive at highway speed while the rain was pouring in sheets with very high confidence. For a car as light as a mini, this is plenty of grip for hard cornering, even on mostly stock suspension. For the price, these are probably about as good as you can ask for. I doubt they'll be the greatest tires in the snow, but neither is a fwd mini cooper. I'll drive my Volvo v60 Polestar with awd if I need to go out in the snow, and that's a perfectly acceptable compromise. For any car that is to be driven quickly but that isn't itself a sporty car, these are a great option that won't break the bank.

...Nice ride, quiet, good wet and dry traction...

This is the second set of Eagle RS-A’s on the car. The first set was OEM when new. The first set had probably 40% tread remaining at 24K miles but after 6 years in the hot sun, they were starting to crack. Not unusual for any tire here. It rode well, had decent traction and was quiet - when on sale, they’re very affordable so for this lightly used car it made sense to replace with the same. On our other cars I typically buy high end Michelin tires but this is a Corolla that spends most of its time parked.

The second set of RS-A’s are just like the first. Nice ride, quiet, good wet and dry traction. No snow where I am so that’s not a factor for us. I don’t care about tread wear ratings or a mileage warranty because our tires get old before they’re worn out. While on the cheap end, these tires have been great - though admittedly my expectations aren’t as high as with really expensive tires. I think if you’re an easy going driver with a small to mid size car.. these tires are a good choice. My relative brought his new patrol car over and I noticed it had Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires which I found interesting!

...Road performance was okay in light rain, never slipped even when taking corners hard, which I find surprising. Other folks seem to have issues with rain. Heavy rain: The car does tend to hydroplane a bit, but not terribly...

These tires came on my Charger Pursuit at the 225/60/R18 size. Objectively, they are not good. Drove daily with these ranging from 20F to 100F, snow, heat.

I''ll start with the pros:
Great dry traction, turn in, sharpness of steering feels great, taking corners hard rarely caused a squeal at all. Surprisingly good, reminds me a bit like a summer tire in that regard. It''s very quiet.

The average/meh:
Tire wear: I just broke 25k miles, and these are the same tires the car got when new, so they were 6 years old. We were at 4/32 on the front but the edges were almost completely worn down/flat. Not good tire wear for a normal all season.

Wet: Road performance was okay in light rain, never slipped even when taking corners hard, which I find surprising. Other folks seem to have issues with rain.

The bad:
Snow: I live in the Denver area where we just had an early season snow storm in early Nov. With 4/32 of wear on my RS-As I was doing okay with the snow covered roads (32F very wet, damp snow, lightly freezing slush), but when I had to stop coming down a hill for a light I almost slid into another car and couldn''t stop. Fair to note that other drivers were also having a tough time and sliding all over too. Very sketchy.

Heavy rain: The car does tend to hydroplane a bit, but not terribly.

Comfort: Tires would clunk often even when hitting the most mild of potholes/bumps, ride was jarring, even with a such a large sidewall.

Another odd note, when driving over grooved pavement, the tire would "follow" the groove and want to steer off course. ALSO, a very annoying characteristic is these tires are TERRIBLE to balance. Had to take the car back to the dealer to balance 3 different times, and they STILL pulled. I only notice this now after I got new tires and now I need another alignment. Wouldn''t recommend.

...Dry traction is great, wet is good and snow is so so although I tested the tires in snow mode on 2 inches of snow and they did pretty good with very little wheel spin...

Not sure why all the negativity. I purchased these as a replacement for michelin primacy and I see very little difference. Dry traction is great, wet is good and snow is so so although I tested the tires in snow mode on 2 inches of snow and they did pretty good with very little wheel spin. Really good tires for the price so far.

...I'm amazed that with a 260 tread wear I got such high mileage from this tire and even tread wear. Two of the tires did show dry rout after 4 years so I replaced them with a new set but the tread would have lasted to 80,000.

I did over 70,000 miles of high speed driving between Orlando and Tampa on I4 one of the most deadliest highways in Florida. I have been down to Miami twice going speeds over 80+ in dry and wet conditions. This tire is outstanding for high speed lane changes and wet road driving. FHP uses this tires for high speed chances and I have cut across the medium on the highway more then once watching an SUV get stuck trying to follow my little Corolla. For spring thru fall? They’re fine, they’re tires, they’re round and hold air and don’t wear out too quickly

...Winter performance: I thank my stars that I haven't crashed despite driving to VT and NH to ski soon after snowstorms. These are awful in snow let alone ice. I resorted to driving real slow when there was snow on the road. These shouldn't be sold in snowy climates.

These were installed by my mechanic’s shop when the OEM tires wore out. I was warned that these maybe noisy but oh boy, was that an understatement or what!?! Will not buy a Goodyear product again.
Today I replaced them with Michelin CrossClimates with winter capabilities because:
1. Horrible noise: these tires are very noisy and got noisier as they wear. It is so bad that on long highway drives it would make my head hurt.

3. Wear: Car started making a clap clap clap clap noise with driving. Mechanic said tires are scalloped and should be changed. How a relatively new tire got scalloped from pretty gentle driving is beyond me. Also, there is no visible scalloping but the clap clap clap went away with the new tires.

I didn't purchase these tires, nor would I ever.

I volunteer for a police department and have taken patrol vehicles for service. The RS-A is standard on older Ford Explorer vehicles and newer Chevy Tahoes. Every officer I've talked to hates these tires. They are all but useless on snow and ice and I myself last week skated horizontally across an intersection on some black ice because I gently accelerated from a stop to make a left turn, doing under 20mph. Thankfully I regained traction before nailing the curb.

They have no business selling these tires in snowy climates. New Ford vehicles come with the OEM Goodyear Eagle Enforcer tires and I have a sneaking suspicion they're more of the same. The tread looks awfully similar.
