The Open Country M/T is Toyo's Off-Road Maximum Traction tire, a category often referred to as mud tires, built to handle the needs of dedicated off-road vehicles, trucks, full-size SUVs, and Jeeps and satisfy drivers looking for a tire that can take on any kind of environment, on- or off-road. Developed with powerful off-road traction at its heart, the Open Country M/T is designed to take drivers wherever they want to go, whenever they want to go there.
The all-terrain compound of the Open Country M/T has been molded into a high-void "Attack" design featuring a hook-shaped pattern in the tread and over the shoulders for all-around traction. Toyo has taken steps to improve the on-road experience, thanks to stabilizers reducing squirm and irregular wear as well as variable pitches in the pattern to cut down on repetitive noise. Off-road, the substantial, symmetrically arrayed tread blocks create the traction needed for loose, rocky conditions. Wide grooves and open shoulders aid in hydroplaning resistance, displacing mud, snow, sand and standing water, and the independent tread blocks create more biting edges for traction in wet or snowy conditions.
The construction of the Open Country M/T features a single-strand, jointless bead wire and is built from the inside out for durability, with a robust, three-ply polyester casing and high-strength steel belts for maximum puncture resistance. The two-ply nylon cap offers additional reinforcement and stabilization.
Note: While Off-Road Maximum Traction tires are branded with the M+S symbol and able to churn through deep snow, their typical oversize applications and the absence of snow-biting sipes in their large smooth lugs can challenge their on-road wintertime traction on packed snow and icy surfaces.

Really grippy, first rain of the season when road is wet and oily still had great traction very quiet, excellent handling, ride is very good though just a tad rougher than old tires which could be because of the Kevlar or because the old tires were worn really loving them so far. Have no idea what people are talking about with not being able to stay in their lane, could be mechanical because of the excellent steering response only time will tell how many miles I get, but right now they are a screaming buy!!!!

...Although traction is great it doesn't mean it gives you a license to drive like an A-hole. I would say traction is better, had about 8 of heavy wet snow fall on us last night, I drove 60 miles to work in all kinds of roadway --------, no issues...
Alright, let me explain a little here. I mainly graded alot of 9s' for the fact that nothing is ever perfect, these are ---- near there. Okay, I have driven on dry, wet, light snow, heavy snow, slush, icy asphalt (city and hwy). I use to run the Firestone Destination A/Ts, however there was a rebate on this tire so I said what the heck why not. I did, and couldn't be happier. Although traction is great it doesn't mean it gives you a license to drive like an A-hole. I would say traction is better, had about 8" of heavy wet snow fall on us last night, I drove 60 miles to work in all kinds of roadway --------, no issues. Any road condition you can think of in winter weather, all but driving during a blizzard, I just faced it. I waited for this opportunity to rate these tires. My truck is a diesel, a Dodge at that, so the ride isn't that smooth to begin with (can compare to a lumber wagon), and engine noise is kinda up there too. I did not notice any uncomfortable noise from the tires (howling). I thought I would considering the luggy type tread, but I am happy with the noise level...which like I said I don't hear...LOL. Anyway, I have driven on dry pavement, steering is a breeze, handles nice in all kinds of dry road situations. I was really impressed by the snow/slush/ice stopping ability, and upon take off not much for spinning or loss of traction...really impressed. I may add another review later when the weather warms and I start hauling my camper...yes these are an E-rated tire...so stiff to begin with and ride is actually nice. I was going to mention that I have driven on rocky, gravel, sandy (hard pack and loose) types of roadways...handled the conditions very well, I was very impressed by the American made tire as in the past I had one model of Goodyear that was junk in the past, these have won me over on the steady truck tire for me. I know my review is all over the place but the handling in the snow related junk is excellent IMO.

Very great ride on this set of tires. I put a full set all around, and have no complaints at all. It was raining heavily this past weekend, and I tried to get a little loose around corners of from the start, but it was impossible with these tires. Great traction on and off road.

...little to no issues in rear wheel drive with these... A 10 hour/ day drive, seeing everything from drive pavement to wet, icy and snowcovered conditions, tires held and I was comfortable the entire time...
Very very good tire. I purchased tires to have a bit more confidence in the winter season. These tires surpased my expectations and I was very happy with my purchase. Before I was always having to use 4x4 with any kind of snow/ice, but I had little to no issues in rear wheel drive with these. Quiet on the highway, very smooth. A 10 hour/ day drive, seeing everything from drive pavement to wet, icy and snowcovered conditions, tires held and I was comfortable the entire time. I hope the wear is as good as goodyear claims as I really am happy with these tires.

...Very pleased with these tires and highly recommend them - especially for 4x4 applications in winter snow and ice conditions. In Michigan, 2018 was a cold, snowy and icy winter and the tires performed great...
Purchased OEM tire size 265/70/R17 for my Z71 Suburban - I was intending to buy an All-Season Michelin, but the GoodYear All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar were highly recommended by my local tire dealer over any other tire they sold for my use (winter use and trailering). I didn't like the OEM GoodYear Wrangler's at all - noisy, rough riding and poor performance in snow. Very pleased with these tires and highly recommend them - especially for 4x4 applications in winter snow and ice conditions. In Michigan, 2018 was a cold, snowy and icy winter and the tires performed great. Have 11/32 tread remaining after over 13,000 miles of use.

...Also happy with their dry and wet traction so far.
We haven't had these tires for too long as they came on our new GC Trailhawk. Most miles to this point have been highway, but we will start adding offroad mileage soon. They ride is good and they don't make a lot of noise. Also happy with their dry and wet traction so far.

...The dry and wet traction is unbelievable even when empty...
I will review again after winter but wanted to submit my initial impressions. Wow! If you have the F250 or F350 diesel you need this tire. It blows the OEM tire out of the water. I changed the OEM to a Cooper AT at less than 20K because it was worthless in the snow and ice. The cooper was somewhat better if I kept enough weight in the bed but it wore out fast and the steering response and ride were disappointing even when new. They were worn out at 30K miles. Popped a tire (on gravel) in August and bought these. I have about 1500 miles on the tires about half of them off road and some on roads that are technical with large rocks. The other half is highway. I do very little city driving with this rig. I haul a 5000 lb camper and tow a 5000 lb boat frequently. The dry and wet traction is unbelievable even when empty, I can't wait to try them in the snow.
The sidewalls are stiff and you have to use a tire shop that has high pressure mounting to seat the tire. They balanced with very little weight and the ride is very smooth, am literally dumbfounded how such a stout tire rides so nice. Again, I don't know about Chevy or Dodge but if you have the diesel Ford you will not be disappointed.

...After 50k+ miles I have to say I am very impressed with this tire...
These were the OEM tires that came on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. After 50k+ miles I have to say I am very impressed with this tire. I have never had any issues in snow (or even ice) and off road capability hasn't disappointed. Treadwear isn't even to the wear indicator yet so I'm thinking it's going to make it past 60k miles without an issue. Looking forward to getting a new set when it's time.

...If you get on a stretch of road with out any pot holes or big cracks (like most roads have these days), you will not hear any sound at all from these tires and the ride is much more comfortable. After a few miles, I had to get out and check to make sure it was Goodyears on the truck. I thought maybe the shop had made a mistake and put Tempurpedic tire on...
THe truck used to have Toyo Open Country tires of the same size but they were LT instead of p rating. I no longer tow a 5000 lb 22 ft.boat/trailer so I didn't need the load rating of the LTs anymore. I've seen the Toyos rated as a comfortable, quiet ride. I might have said that at one time. The Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrian Adventure with Kevlar make a big difference. If you get on a stretch of road with out any pot holes or big cracks (like most roads have these days), you will not hear any sound at all from these tires and the ride is much more comfortable. After a few miles, I had to get out and check to make sure it was Goodyears on the truck. I thought maybe the shop had made a mistake and put "Tempurpedic" tire on. Make sure you get plenty of sleep, the sound from these tires will NOT help keep you awake.

...They have never been balanced since they came from the truck from the factory and still ride smooth...
I gave this tire all 10's on my review except for the snow traction since we do not have much in Alabama. I rotate the tires each time I change the oil at 10,000 miles. They have never been balanced since they came with the truck from the factory and still ride smooth. The tires now still have lots of tread left but I started searching for their replacements later this year. I saw some of the negative reviews and had to comment on my experience. I took pictures to back up my claim but do not see a way to post my tires, mileage and tread life remaining. I've owned BFG, Michelin, Bridgestone and Uniroyal tires in the past. I also owned some Goodyear tires in the past that were not good on my old Camero. But these tires are the best I have ever owned and with out a doubt I'll go back with new ones this fall.

...Measuring the tread used in 15k miles, I should make it to the 60k mileage warranty...
Excellent tires. They have fully met my expectations in every way. But there's a bunch of confusing choices with this tire, probably why the reviews are mixed. Tire Rack has 4 listings, 2 are LT "pro-grade" severe snow service. 2 are not. There's a variety of load ranges, tread depth, speed ratings and ride stiffness. The LT lower load range that came stock on my 2015 f150 4wd sport, off road package are the best all-terrain's I've ever owned, and the only Goodyear tires I've really liked. Dry and wet road traction and handling are excellent. In the snow, I only drove them a couple times (I use Blizzaks in winter), acceleration was strong. Braking and handling was ok, about as good as be expected from an all-season tire. On sand, semi steep rocks and rough muddy trails they are 100% sure footed. No extreme off-roading tested though. Ride quality, very good and reasonably quiet. Measuring the tread used in 15k miles, I should make it to the 60k mileage warranty. I think they're actually worth the very high price.

...These tires held up great to what I expected from them, the only downfall was the treadwear. That ----ed, warranty of 60,000 and I got 23,500 and they are down to 2/32 or less ( rotated per dealer specs, every 5k)...
Ok, so I was really undecided on this tire and hesitant to come back to GoodYear, had the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo previously, but I was pleasantly surprised. These tires held up great to what I expected from them, the only downfall was the treadwear. That ----ed, warranty of 60,000 and I got 23,500 and they are down to 2/32 or less (rotated per dealer specs, every 5k). Not pleased about that, but I did get 2 - 1/2 years out of them. I drive a Ram 1500 4x4 truck, mostly highway but some off-roading when I can. These were a P tire, not the LT version, so right there I did expect to get a little less life out of them. When they do run down low the balance seems to get thrown off and there is a vibration. This could be due to them being almost bald though. The handling was great, I enjoyed them in the Upstate New York winters, never had a problem, never got stuck. I would stay with them but I am going to try a different brand for my next tire and see how they do. I will be sticking with LT tires from now on. Learned my lesson going with a P rated tire. Overall I would recommend and would get them again, just the LTs though.
