...They have good wet traction and are great in the snow...
This is a great tire. They have really good wet traction and are great in the snow. Currently have 65k miles on them and they look like they are good for at least 20k more!

...I get great traction with these tires; on dry, on wet, or on snowy pavement...
These tires were the originals on my truck. I have been happy with them. I get great traction with these tires; dry, wet, or snowy pavement. I will be replacing them with the same after a couple thousand more miles. I don't understand why these tires so low on the all terrain tire ranking, but I would recommend them to anyone.

...These made it in 2 feet of snow for 70 miles last winter, while all the other trucks and SUVs were stuck. Not so great on ice after the first 20k.
Have these puppies on my TJ for 30k now. IF you buy these keep the psi down around 35-40 or you will kill the center tread. After 22k the sipping is all worn away and now I have a hard time stoping in rain, but in the first 22k they stoped on a dime in the rain. These made it in 2 feet of snow for 70 miles last winter, while all the other trucks and SUVs were stuck. Not so great on ice after the first 20k. Great off road, but not in clay mud. I wont buy these again but do think they are a great all around tire. Good tire for weekday city driving, weekend offroadn. Low noise for tread.

Vehicle control in wet, slush and snow conditions improved so remarkably that I will continue to use these tires as long as they are made. I have recommended them to other jeep and truck owners and those that purchased them agree that their driving confidence in bad weather has improved, because of the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S.

...These tires are great on dry pavement... In 4wd rallycrosses, the tires pull the vehicle through the course quite well without much effort...
I use the S-10 and the tires mainly on road rallys and grass/dirt rallycrosses with the local SCCA folks. These tires are great on wet a dry pavement. When setting up and running rallys, there are many times when I pull off the road in various conditions (mud, rocks, pebbles, grass, dirt, etc). These tires have always pulled me out (in 4wd mode of course) without spinning the tires (and destroying my route measurements). In 4wd rallycrosses, the tires pull the vehicle through the course quite well without much effort. Tread wear is not great, but then I drive rather aggressive on back roads. That and 93 S-10s are known for weak front-ends that cause abnormal tire wear. Road noise? Who cares ... theyre great tires!

Im not sure what the fuss is about in some of the comments I read before purchasing these tires? I think theyre the greatest thing since buttered bread! I almost didnt buy them after reading about the noise and balance issues? I did have a hard time deciding between these and the MT/Rs that come standard on the Jeep Rubicon, but Im glad I chose these. The reason being is that I put a lot of highway miles (in addition to trail/offroading) on my slightly modified Wrangler. These tires have lived up to and exceeded in some cases the claims made by the Goodyear Marketing people. They are sticky as glue on road, and provide unbelievable traction off road in mud and on wet surfaces. I only wish that it would snow again, so I could try them out in some unplowed terrain! I also cant comment yet on treadwear, but if theyre half as good as the life I got out of my last set of Wranglers, Ill be satisfied. As far as balance and noise, no problems yet. In fact after reading some of the comments about noise, I swear I must have been reading about a different tire, as these are quieter than my last set? Most of the guys complaining were driving trucks, too? Hey guys they are trucks, in case you havent forgotten. Maybe they should trade theyre trucks in on a Lexus, if thats the noise thats bothering them? Anyway thats my 2C.

...When braking hard on dry pavement Ive had the ABS kick in...
Ive never had any problems in feet and feet of snow. They track well in wet conditions. But, suprisingly theyre a little weak when driving through puddles at highway speeds, hydroplaning easily. Theyre quiet even with their aggressive tread. At 15,000 minles they show no signs of wear. Theyve been through soft sand with no signs of loss of traction. When braking hard on dry pavement Ive had the ABS kick in. The hydroplaning issue convinced me to not buy these tires again.

...Its best features are snow tranction and quiet ride...
Hello. I work for Th Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. I sell the commercial tires, but absolutely love the Wrangler AT/S. My family has had them on 4 Vehicles. On this 97 Explorer we are on our third winter. Amazing!! Its best features are snow tranction and quiet ride. I put the AT/s to the test last winter in NJ with a 4-6 in. snow covered interstate. I drove 60mph in 4X4 and had absolutely NO problems at all. I could not ask for a better light truck/SUV tire.

...Though one is now splitting and one has a 1/4 bolt puncture, they are still refusing to die off. Yes the threadwear is not great... but for an all-around tire in which you do not have complainers about ride/noise, these are a good inexpensive option for on/off road...
I've put 75,000+ mi on this set of tires. Though one is now splitting and one has a 1/4" bolt puncture, they are still refusing to die off. Yes the threadwear is not great, yes they are noisy, yes they're a bit of a rough ride, but for an all-around tire in which you do not have complainers about ride/noise, these are a good inexpensive option for on/off road.
I DO recommend being "religious" about tire rotation (the front-cross-back; back-cross-front type) to give them the best chance of even, consistent wear...might last you more than the 75,000 they've given me

...These tires have been well past expected... These tires still have 8/32 after about 98,000 miles (the truck has 107,400 miles).
I live on a farm and drive semis for a living. Manito borders the only natural desert in Illinois. The tire size I have is larger than OEM. I purchased this truck with 5,000 miles and RT/S Goodyears. These tires have been well past expected. I must maintain our irrigation systems. Fresh plowed sand, light and heavy snow, gravel, long range highway travel. Since my purchase, I have not used dead weight in the bed of the truck. This truck has failed me once. I drove over a drift and high-centered the frame. It has even pulled out vehicals of larger weight. Namely, my friend's 1980 Plymouth Trail Duster. I pulled that dead truck (broke rear drive shaft and front axle) out of a snow filled ditch and onto an ice covered road. Then, I towed him home. Still no weight in the back. I love my Dodge, but I would throw it away and keep the tires. --OH YEAH!! These tires still have 8/32 after about 98,000 miles (the truck has 107,400 miles).
