Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude HT Reviews

Drivers consistently rate the Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude HT highly for its long-lasting treadwear (frequent 9-10 scores) and comfortable, quiet ride, with many praising its smooth highway performance. Wet traction receives strong marks (7-10 range) for reliable grip and hydroplaning resistance, while dry traction scores (7-10) highlight confident handling. Winter traction shows mixed results-some report adequate light snow capability, but scores dip sharply (0-5 range) for ice and deeper snow, aligning with its all-season focus rather than severe winter use. Overall, customers appreciate its durability and comfort for daily driving, though those in harsh winter climates note limitations in extreme conditions.

...It tracks so well in the wet and untreated snow & ice roads.

Insanely reliable tire. Incredibly quiet, refined, and very great in snow and on untreated winter roads. Superb on the highway. Super smooth and efficient on fuel. Feels like riding on clouds regardless on which driving surface. It tracks so well in the wet and untreated snow & ice roads.

...No hydroplaning or steering issues in standing water when recently driving 3 hours in heavy tropical storm conditions...

This OE tire far exceeded my expectations. My truck is driven for personal use, typically is lightly loaded and accelerated gently for better economy. These tires have an excellent ride, low noise and great durability. Good all around performance especially good in wet road conditions. At 52,250 miles there was 2 1/2 - 3/32 tread above the wear bars. Easily would have gone 60 K. No hydroplaning or steering issues in standing water when recently driving 3 hours in heavy tropical storm conditions. Off road and snow performance was adequate with 4 wheel drive making up for any tread short comings. Never a problem on driving unpaved West Virginia roads getting around on logging roads when deer hunting. However with highway tread, I never pushed the reality of not having a heavy cleated tread. Great quiet ride on long Rt 95 trips to Florida. My Chevrolet 4 wheel drive 5.4 L has an amazing 20.9 mpg overall for the past 37,000 miles and routinely gets 23.5 mpg at 75mph on the highway. The Goodyear Fortitude clearly has contributed to my great fuel economy. I am replacing these tires with on sale Michelin Defender tires as I want a slightly more aggressive tread for better snow performance.
If you can get the Fortitude at a good price, I would not hesitate to purchase them. This tire has proven to be a good high mileage well rounded performer for me.

...Steering & control/ dry grip are really good, it makes my mid-sized truck feel like a lightweight car...

OEM tires on my 2025 Colorado, The dry ride quality is smooth with little to no noise if driving below express way speeds. the noise is more noticeable above 55mph, but still low with the A/C & engine running higher. Steering & control/dry grip are really good, it makes my mid-sized truck feel like a lightweight car. Wet road grip is a little disappointing. When quickly trying to accelerate to pass traffic or when going above 70mph with moderate or high throttle in rain, you can start to feel it occasionally loose grip. Causing traction control to lightly engage. It never felt like I was going to lose control. If you drive average or easy going, you're not going to have these problems. On average when driving on Highway & Expressway my tire pressure increases to around 37 to 38 psi from my truck's factory default of 35psi. With my size being 265/60R18, the sidewalls naturally bulge outward preventing the wheel from touching things like a curb. Sidewalls are also strong/durable. I've skimmed some curbs a few times & no marks or damage was found. Can also handle some potholes are well, no damage seen so far.

These tires came with my vehicle. Very happy with them. They are so quiet, smooth, and provides a lot of traction in all weather conditions. I drive a lot to Whistler and Kelowna. No issues at all. Very safe and reliable set of tires. Very fuel efficient as it is a low rolling resistance tire. I'm happy with them.

Oh boy, these tires are so quiet and smooth. Great shoulder lugs with great sippings for superior cornering traction and handling in wet and dry weather conditions. Very sporty and responsive steering feedback. Offers great interaction with the driver. It organically connects with the driver in confidence. It's soft and strategically engineered center rib provides maximum comfort and steering response on the highway and city driving. This isn't a 3PMS rated tire but will provide good traction on untreated roads in light and deep snow. It's good on ice and slush as well. Very efficient on fuel. Treadwell is rated very high as well, so this will safe money in time for everyone. This tire just tracks so well and offers so much grip overall. I drive my truck for work and personal use. Travelling through various terrains ranging from easy to difficult. Hills, mountains, highways, city roads, washboard roads, unevenly paved roads, gravel roads, downtown streets, ABSOLUTELY a champ in all weather conditions. It handles very sporty and well in small tight spaces as well. I ocasionally tow old vehicles with a trailer and these tires perform SUPERB. It provides such a high level of comfort, I look forward to buying my next set!

Excellent in high speed turns. Great in wet and snow. Very long tread life. Just offers a lot of confidence and connects with the driver in a way that makes you feel you can tackle any and all weather conditions without any doubt. I drive a lot for work and almost always need to travel through unevenly pavement ans gravel roads. No issues at all. These Fortitude HT tires are incredibly reliable and tough. Keep in my I am a spirited driver and have a heavy foot for the accelerator. This goes to say if you are a average driver, you will be very much safe and fine in trusting these tires. I live in Colorado and drive regularly in dry, wet, and snow/ice conditions. Not knowing anything, Goodyear recommended these to my dad. The dry performance is passable and wet performance is sufficient. HOWEVER, if you even think about going anywhere in snow or ice, whether mild or severe, you need to reconsider that choice. I can routinely be going 15 MPH and slide 30-40 feet under gentle breaking. Turning has zero traction and I often start sliding sideways, even while moderating power. Enabling 4-High or 4-Low does is not powerful enough to overcome slipping in more severe conditions. When I drive in snow, I'm better off closing my eyes and praying than trying to do it properly. Please, if they still sell these things, do not buy them for anything but dry, sunny conditions.

I live in New Hampshire and this tire came stock on my Chevy Silverado. Do not select this tire for winter driving. Doesn't matter if it's 1/4" or 6", absolutely useless. If these tires encounter any type of ice conditions, begin to pray. This tires are only good for summer driving and nothing else. Doesn't matter if I'm in 4wheel mode or not, there completely useless. My Toyota Camry handles 100x better in the winter.
