The Wrangler HP is Goodyear's Street/Sport Truck All-Season light truck tire developed for Original Equipment use on sporty pickups and sport utility vehicles like the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Avalanche, Dodge Ram, Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and Land Rover Discovery 4.6 HSE. The Wrangler HP was developed to blend on-road performance handling with year-round all-season traction, even in light snow.
The Wrangler HP features a symmetric tread design with wide outer shoulders and large intermediate blocks to provide responsive handling and traction on dry roads. Wide circumferential and lateral tread grooves help evacuate water from under the tire's footprint to resist hydroplaning while strategically placed sipes enhance all-weather grip. The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts (H-speed rated sizes reinforced with nylon cap plies) that stabilize the tread area to boost handling and high-speed capability. Depending upon application, the Wrangler HP features a polyester cord body to provide appropriate strength and enhance ride quality.

Customer feedback indicates the Goodyear Wrangler HP delivers excellent dry traction (9-10 scores) with responsive handling, making it a strong choice for street and sport truck use. Wet traction shows mixed results, with some reports of hydroplaning and inconsistent grip (scores as low as 0-4). Winter performance raises concerns, with many ratings below 5 for snow and ice traction. Ride comfort receives mixed feedback, ranging from smooth to harsh depending on driving conditions. Treadwear is a notable weakness, with frequent mentions of rapid wear and disappointing tread life (multiple 0-3 scores), suggesting limited longevity for aggressive or heavy-use scenarios.

...I have 28,000 miles and the grip is probably as good as any non-track tire out there...
Ive read many responses for several hours on several tires. Generally what i surmise is that people are either buying the wrong type of tire for their needs, expect too much from any one tire or have no idea how to keep from generalizing when they say a tire has not performed well. This tire for example, has a broad spectrum of complaints ranging from the tread lasting only 8,000 miles to slipping on ice. Now, if I have 28,000 miles on mine and they look new, what is the person with 8,000 miles doing behind the wheel, and why would anyone expect this tire to grab ice? By applying common sense to what I have read in 90% of the reviews it is obvious people are not being responsible for rotating/air pressure, guessing on mileage/wear, expect a factory tire to get them to the North Pole or just have an axe to grind. Take this Wrangler tire for example, it is a factory tire on my Hemi Sport and I UNDERSTAND that. I have 28,000 miles on it and I estimate another 28,000 miles left in the tread. No kidding. Its quiet but not so great when its wet out, so when its wet out, Im more cautious. It wears well, but I dont drive like Andretti. It brakes well because I brake early. It corners fine because I havent spun out, again, I want the truck to last so I dont drive like Andretti. If you drive like Andretti, buy Andretti tires- If you drive Like Santa Clause, buy Reindeer tires. This is a good tire. Partly because I am responsible with them-I rotate them as scheduled, I maintain tire pressures etc. Ive bought many tire types in my 42 years and have been disappointed a few times but generally understand that in life, there are always trade- offs. My only regret is these Wranglers dont have the look to match the Hemi Sport but Im hesitant with my next tire selection because of how these tires have performed. Based on the size I want-295/50/20 Im considering the General Grabber UHS but may just stay with these. Experience has taught me that most times when y

...Dry traction is very good but wet traction is only fair, and hydroplanning was always a concern in Houston's heavy rain...
The Wrangler HP came standard on my Jeep Liberty, as an OEM tire. Tires were rotated and balanced every 6,000 miles, and driven on a combination of city/freeway mileage....Dry traction is very good but wet traction is only fair, and hydroplanning was always a concern in Houston's heavy rain. However, I got 56,000 miles on them before replacing with Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas.....These tires could have run another 10,000 miles, but were showing significant wear in the inner tread bands......so wanted to change out before the rainy weather.....Definitely better wear than I expected for an OEM tire, but not good wet performance.

Mixed results with many scores between 0-6. Customers report slippery feel, tendency to hydroplane, and mediocre wet traction-unacceptable for an all-season tire.

Thes came OEM. If not for the 4WD when wet, it would be in a ditch or upside down. They have as much traction in rain as marbles on ice. Acceleration and deceleration are both dismal. Tires were rotated and balanced every 5K and tire pressure kept per manufacturers specs. However, these tires still becamed dimpled and noisier as the odometer spins. Consider yourself informed and warned.

I've been driving for over 30 years and without a doubt, the Goodyear Wrangler HP is the worst tire I've ever owned. In fact, due to the tire's poor wet weather performance, I believe it to be unsafe. I am a relaxed driver and I've had my wife's car sideways three times with this tire in situations which should never cause a skid. Because of it's very poor performance, my wife refuses to drive in the rain with this tire. The noise generated at highway speeds prevents a conversation at normal voice levels. The only positive thing I can say is that they didn't blow out. These tires are SCARY bad. Avoid!

Have had the tires since new (OEM). Really have no complaints except that the wet handleing is pretty poor. Also the treadwear is even but I dont think I will be getting 25k out of these tires. The car is dealer serviced and I follow the service schedule.

Winter traction receives concerning scores, with many ratings between 0-4 and inconsistent 5-7s. Despite being an all-season tire, customers report slippery conditions, loss of traction, and unstable handling in snow and ice, indicating significant winter performance shortcomings.

...These tires offer zero traction in snow, even with the AWD system that is on my Element...
I was so disappointed in these tires from the moment I drove off the Honda Lot. These tires offer zero traction in snow, even with the AWD system that is on my Element. Hitting standing water on parkways above 60mph is downright dangerous.
I switched to Nokian WRs and the Element has transformed into what I thought I was getting from Honda. The Element now handles all weather conditions, doesnt skid across the road when hitting puddles at speed, can go through snow of any depth without slipping and sliding. Too bad Honda doesnt offer even a decent tire for the Element. Other are having wearing issues, something I didnt have. Not a tire someone should be buying, its bad enough they come on a new vehicle.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE TIRES.

...The real problems for these tires are in winter conditions. I live in New England so winters give us a generous helping of in snow and ice. These tires are simply not intended for winter driving...
My Ram came stock with these tires and overall I am not very satisfied with these tires. The tires look great on the 20 inch rims and handle extremely well on dry pavement. They also corner well and deliver a fairly decent ride. Tread wear is very good as I have almost 65000 miles on the tires and dont try to burn them off the rim at every stop light or sign. Wet traction is Ok at low speeds but give me a very uneasy feeling at highway speeds. If you are at a complete stop on wet roads and brush the gas pedal to hard, look out! It does not take much to break these tires free! The real problems for these tires are in winter conditions. I live in New England so winters give us a generous helping of snow and ice. These tires are simply not intended for winter drivng. My hemi is a 4x4 and I have the "anti-spin" rear axle which should work well in snowy/icy conditions with any tire. "WRONG!" I have gone through 4 winters of light and deep snow with a few hundred pounds of weight in the bed to realize these tires dont cut it. Every trip to and from work was a heart pounding nail biting adventure. The truck really feels like it is floating along side to side back and fourth. I had to back down hills several times in deeper snow do to amazingly poor traction. Now that is embarrissing!!! Over-all, if you live in a warm climate with no snow this is a great tire. For anyone living in areas that see those flakes fly, please consider another tire option. If not, Ill see you at the bottom of the hill! :-0

...Its fine on dry pavement, though noisy, but terrible in snow, ice, rain and mud.
This is a lousy tire and a poor selection for any SUV (OEM on my vehicle). Its fine on dry pavement, though noisy, but terrible in snow, ice, rain and mud. We get a fair amount of that here. Same cupping problem as others have noted, even after rotating per tire dealers suggestion. Local Goodyear dealer would not replace. No more Goodyears for me and will replace these tires with Bridgestone Revo.

...These tires are noisey, rough on the road, bad tread wear and crappy traction...
Got these tires as OEM on my Liberty Jet. They have already replaced 2 for out of round. They won't do anything else for me. I am a gear head from way back grew up in garages. Never was a huge Goodyear fan. I figured how bad could it be. Well let me tell you bad. These tires are noisey, rough on the road, bad tread wear and crappy traction. The only use these things had since they came off the line was to be tied to the side or a dock. Garbage. Go to Michellin BFG Yokohama Firestone.

I rated them low on ride because you can feel little bumps like a tire that is over inflated. On smooth surface they are great and traction is good except even light snow, but I guess we use the 4wd then. Even the same size tire looks a little narrower

At 15000 miles the tires are completely worn... Worst tires I've seen in 53 years. I can't believe Goodyear would have product like this...
At 15000 miles the tires are completely worn. I thought there was something wrong with the alignment. Took the car to the dealer and asked to check it out. Said alignment was perfect. Worst tires I've seen in 53 years. I can't believe Goodyear would have product like this. They must have sold them as a cheap OEM tire.
