The Wrangler SR-A is Goodyear's Highway All-Season tire developed for the drivers of pickup trucks, crossovers and sport utility vehicles. Extensively used as Original Equipment on a wide range of popular light trucks, the Wrangler SR-A is available in a comprehensive range of 15" through 20" rim diameter sizes. The Wrangler SR-A is designed to reduce noise, vibration and ride harshness while providing all-season traction, even on gravel roads and in light snow.

The Wrangler SR-A features Goodyear's WetTrac Technology that molds an enhanced wet traction tread compound into a symmetric tread design which combines independent tread blocks, wide circumferential grooves and hundreds of zigzag sipes to promote traction in wet and wintry conditions. The wide circumferential grooves help move water through the tread for wet traction while self-cleaning lateral grooves in the shoulders help evacuate water, mud and snow.

The tire's internal structure includes twin, high-tensile steel belts on top of a polyester cord casing. Heavy-duty LT-metric-sized Load Range D & Load Range E tires are reinforced with spirally wound nylon to promote strength, even wear and extra durability.

Goodyear Wrangler SR-A Reviews

User experiences show the Goodyear Wrangler SR-A excels in treadwear and comfort, with many 9-10 ratings praising long-lasting performance and a smooth, quiet ride. Dry traction and handling receive strong marks (8-10 range), aligning well with its highway focus. However, winter traction shows inconsistency, with some scores as low as 0-4 in icy conditions, and wet traction has mixed feedback-while many rate it 7-8, others report hydroplaning concerns. Though marketed as all-season, its snow/ice performance may leave some drivers cautious. For highway-focused use in moderate climates, customers highlight reliable dry performance and durability, but those prioritizing winter capability may find limitations.

This was the oem tire on my 2015 Ram 1500 Crew Limited 275-60-R20
I was impressed with this tires dry highway high speed agility. I made some pretty crazy moves once or twice at 60-80mph and these tires performed exceptionally well. I was surprised to say the least. I dont know why everyone's experiences were so bad. I'm a very aggressive driver and these tires exceeded expectations. They brake well in wet or dry on this truck with ABS. They do not accelerate well. There is wheel spin wet or dry with hard acceleration on my truck with about 400 ft/lb. This is somewhat expected with an open diff with that much power with most of the weight in the front.

We go snowboarding in the mountains every winter in SOCAL and many times im driving through various snow covered road conditions. The tires were EXCELLENT in the snow. (until they started to get 50+% worn down) I was blowing by people doing 70 on a snow covered highway while they were doing 50. They work well in heavier snow, 6-8" of packed street snow. I was very confident driving the truck on snow covered hills/streets. I did go sailing over some black ice once on these and in those conditions traction was zero. I don't think any tire does well black ice.
Maybe the 20" size works better then the smaller wheel/taller sidewall ones.

Tread wear is not very good. They wear relatively quickly but I am not gentle with them. At 29500 miles I am replacing them. They were good tires even if they dont last long. I would rather have a great performing tire then a long wearing one.

...Dry/Highway: Excellent steering response, ride and handling. Smooth and quiet - part of the credit goes to the truck with it's coil springs in the rear. Good characteristics have remained through the 33,000 miles.

Good tires. They deserve a fair review. OE on new 2017 Ram 1500 4WD. Alignment and balance spot on. Size 275/60-20 always inflated to 39 psi cold as recommended.

Dry/Highway: Excellent steering response, ride and handling. Smooth and quiet - part of the credit goes to the truck with it's coil springs in the rear. Good characteristics have remained through the 33,000 miles. Rotated twice so far and very even wear.

Wear : At 33K, they are about 60% worn. Compared with my last tires on my Tundra 4WD, Michelin LTX, they are wearing quite a bit faster.

Wet: When these tires were new, they were excellent in the rain. I had the occasion to drive back home from the Adirondacks in a torrential rain last year with about 15K on the tires. They were excellent and in my opinion just as good as the last set of Michelins. However, now with about 60% wear, they are still good in light rain but will hydroplane in standing water/extremely heavy rain. As expected with significant tread wear.

Snow: Again, when they were new and up to about 25K they were. decent in the snow for an all weather tire. Now with significant tread wear, they are still OK in light. snow but poor in heavy wet snow/slush. Again, as expected as tread wear has advanced. I will replace them next fall with about 45-50K on them for winter driving.

Towing: I tow a 6000 lb. car hauler all over the North East and these tires are very good. Even with the truck heavily loaded and the Mustang on the car hauler, these tires are very sure footed and stable. I am sure the truck/trailer combination is near or even at the gross combined load rating and these tires are excellent. Inflated to 39 psi cold. 100% happy with these tires for this purpose. The steering, handling and ride makes long haul towing easy.

Bottom line a good tire and for the money, a great tire. When I go to replace them, Michelin's will cost $300 more - a tough call for a Michelin fan.

These tires have to be the best I have ever owned, they have lasted 85,000 miles. I pull at 21 foot boat with my truck (4X4 F-150) in the summer and drive through 3 inches of snow quite often in the winter. These tires are for the guy who wants a great all-round road tire. These tire are very quiet on the highway, bite well in light/med snow and at the boat ramp, disperses water well on wet roads, fuel mileage is good, and the tread life is excellent. I would not recommend these tires to a farmer, on site construction worker or the guy who wants to go off roading. These tires are for the city trucks. You can't beat these tire on asphalt, come rain, heat, sleet or snow! They stick!

...The delearship is impressed with the treadwear and durability of the tire. No blowouts or bulging...

I bought my truck in 2014 even though it is a 2015. I have driven on the same set of tires and getting ready to replace this week. I rotated my tires with each oil change which was about every 8,000 miles with synthetic oil. Majority of my driving is city/highway. I drive trips of 600 miles to job sites and pick up trailers and haul.

I have certainly hit the end of life expectancy on these tires and would not drive another trip without replacing. However, the tires have performed very well. The delearship is impressed with the treadwear and durability of the tire. No blowouts or bulging. I have had moderate use in off road areas. I am always able to get where I need to be. I am buying another set today. I hope this helps.

Used for:
Towing, city, Freeway, moderate off road (Construction sites and farms).

...Even the slightest touch on the throttle in even a light rain they have absolutely no traction. I wouldn't recommend these tires to my worst enemy...

Whether it’s torrentially raining, or dry these are by far the worst tires on a vehicle I’ve ever experienced. I’m starting to feel like these tires are actively trying to kill me. Even the slightest touch on the throttle in even a light rain they have absolutely no traction. I wouldn’t recommend these tires to my worst enemy. Even under dry conditions on flat ground they can’t keep traction. Keep in mind that I have a V-6 in my full size truck, so by no means do I have too much power to weight ratio. These tires are dangerous and need discontinued immediately. A study should be done to look at any accident involving these tires and if there was any fatalities because Goodyear is 100% liable after what I’ve experienced . I will never buy a Goodyear product after this. Absolutely appalled they call this a tire, my steel rims have more grip than the tires. DO NOT BUY THESE!

These tires came on my 2021 Ram 1500. I have had them for a year now. They are more then half way worn out. The wet traction is horrible. The rear wheels almost always break free under any acceleration. Even trying to hold a steady speed up an incline, they can get loose on you. I'm now looking to replace them. I'm not going through another Jersey winter with these tires on my truck.

...Under rain/light snow conditions, I have to start thinking of how I'm driving so that I don't end up in a ditch... If you're predominately driving on dry pavement, these tires are a decent choice but the moment there is some moisture on the road, I can't recommend these tires, especially as the tread wears down.

For your average on-pavement commuting, these tires have been a good value for me. They've lasted a long time with excellent tread wear and I otherwise just don't have to think about them or driving except in the rain or light snow, in which case, they have so little traction on my trucklet, that I start to worry. Under rain/light snow conditions, I have to start thinking of how I'm driving so that I don't end up in a ditch. This might have more to do with how little weight there is on the rear tires on an S10 but I don't recall having to be so concerned and mentally aware of driving with other tires I've had on this truck. And this is the 4cyl, not the V6 so we're not talking a lot of power at tap. If you're predominately driving on dry pavement, these tires are a decent choice but the moment there is some moisture on the road, I can't recommend these tires, especially as the tread wears down.

This tire came on my 2015 GMC and is terrifying in the rain and light snow. I know I do not have the ability to accelerate without spinning and cannot slow down without skidding in inclement weather. Be cautious if you plan on purchasing this tire. I have 37k on mine and probably enough tread for another 12k but I cannot take another winter with them on my truck.
