Highway All-Season tires are for drivers who want a combination of pleasant on-road characteristics, long wear and all-season versatility, including traction in light snow. Highway All-Season tires branded with the M+S symbol are often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) on 2WD and 4WD, light- and medium-duty vans, trucks and pickups, as well as crossover and sport utility vehicles.
O.E. Highway All-Season tires are typically purchased as direct replacements for worn-out pairs/sets of the vehicle's original tires. They can also be used for other vehicle applications in complete sets of four or axle pairs if available in an appropriate size, load range and speed rating to match the existing O.E. tires' performance category and specifications.

User feedback reveals the Goodyear Wrangler ST faces significant concerns in key areas. Treadwear receives mixed ratings, with many reporting premature wear despite occasional high scores. Comfort draws criticism for inconsistent ride smoothness and noise levels, though some praise its quietness. Winter traction struggles, with low scores in snow and ice conditions. Wet traction is a weak point, marked by poor hydroplaning resistance and unstable grip. Dry traction stands as the strongest performer, with scores in the 7-8 range reflecting reliable handling and stability on paved roads-a critical strength for a highway-focused tire. Overall, it shows clear trade-offs between dry performance and all-season versatility.

...On bone dry pavement, they are OK (not the most directionally stable, though). Let one drop of rain or dew appear, and they slide all over. They are positively DANGEROUS to have on the vehicle.
Ive owned about 25 different vehicles in my lifetime, and Ive driven easily a couple of million miles under all kinds of conditions all over the world. Ive had Michelins, Pirellis, Contis, Avons, Goodyears, Firestones, Coopers, Bridgestones, Kellys, and more. Ive had the best, and Ive had cheap-s**t when I couldnt afford better.
BUT: I have NEVER experienced any tires as bad as these. On bone dry pavement, they are "OK" (not the most directionally stable, though). Let one drop of rain or dew appear, and they slide all over hells half acre. They are positively DANGEROUS to have on the vehicle. Even with a little dusting of snow, Ill put the vehicle in 4WD -- its too risky to drive it in 2WD. Forget it altogether off-road. After one or two outings, Im positively afraid to take them on anything by a "surfaced" gravel road. Certainly not in the mud or rocks!
And! Ive rotated them each 6000 miles, but at 19,000 miles, theyre more than half gone. They will be history before 30,000. I CANT WAIT TO GET THEM OFF MY JEEP!!! Goodyear should be thoroughly ashamed -- if not sued -- for allowing such crap on the road.
I will NEVER buy anything from Goodyear again. Period.

The tires need replacing at 40,000 and I'm not aggressive at all with them. The wet traction is disgraceful and because they're prone to hydrplaning, I'm afraid to drive them anyplace where there's enough rain to generate standing water on the freeway. What really bothers me is that they haven't worn evenly. My truck is not out of alignment and I've rotated and balanced the tires fairly regularly. My other vehicle (Integra) has Michelins and they clearly are an order of magnitude better than the Wranglers. I just ordered some Pirelli Scorption ATs from the tire rack and can't wait to get these Goodyear pieces of junk off my truck. Now I know why some people get a brand new vehicle and immmediately switch out the tires. I'm beginning to think that the MTR is the only truck tire made by Goodyear that is worth buying.

These tires came on my new truck as o.e.m They have been a consern to me since the first time I was on a wet road. After spending $2500.00 on the factory wheel package I of course hasited to replace the tires.Knowing it was just a matter of time before something bad would happen. They break loose at even a hint of moisture. the antilock brakes constantly engage. At times almost out of control. My front end stated rattling at 14000 miles. After I rearened someone 2 days as a result of the extremly poor performance of these tires (Thank ---- no-one was hurt!)This is the 2nd accident I tried not to relate the 1st one to the tires but I knew I shouldnt have dimissed it. These are truly the worst! Its time to dump these in the ocean and make a fish haven out of these. Dont be stupid like me replace them now!

I picked up a 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo a few weeks ago, and the dealer had put a new set of the Wrangler STs on. I have to say, through the recent snowstorms weve had here in Denver, I have been extremely UNimpressed with this tire. The rear tires constantly spin in slick/snowy conditions, and I must ALWAYS been in 4WD to get any type of traction. I feel slippage and hear the tires squeal if I take any corner with a decent amount of speed, which really reduces my confidence level in the tire.
I just sold my 1996 Explorer which I had used with BFGoodrich TA/KOs for the last 3 years, and even with 2-3" of snow on the ground, I rarely had to use 4WD. Im immediately selling these Wranglers and going back to the BFG.
STAY AWAY from the Wrangler ST if you do any driving in snow/ice, or ever go off-road. These tires are just atrocious. But if you live in a very dry place where you are only on roads - they should be just fine. And I will admit - they provide a VERY quiet ride when driving on pavement.

...Poor traction then accelerating, braking, and cornering on wet snow and ice forget about it...
Bought these tires because they came with the truck brand new.they were rotated and balanced and properly inflated when needed. The tires ride good. One tire bounces badly at 40mph or so and is scalloped. The tires squeal loudly when corning at low speeds on good dry roads. Poor traction then accelerating, braking, and cornering on wet snow and ice forget about it. Going to replace with Uniroyal Laredo AWR tires. Wrangler ST tires are two thumbs down.

Original equipment on Jeep Liberty. They were OK for the first Northern Pennsylvania winter. After 12000 miles wet traction became a serious problem, snow traction was non existent. They were rotated every 6000 miles. At 29000 miles they are worn out and will not pass state inspection. I should have replaced them long ago due to the traction and safety issue. I am shopping for tires now and am not sold on Goodyear, certainly not this particular tire.

...Dry traction results in alot of squealing especially while on take off around corners...
These tires were stock on my truck when I got them. I have not even made it to the wear indicator and am having to replace them. I listed myself as a spirited driver but even for the average driver these are not good tires to have. I have a large V8 in my truck and that might be part of the cause but I can not get traction to save my life. Dry traction results in alot of squealing especially while on take off around corners. Wet traction is vertualy non exsistant. I drive carefully during rainy conditions due to the increasing inability of other drivers in my reagion ability to drive declining and still am all over the place. Hills are terrible if it is wet out. Traction off road is also terrible. While off road I have had nothing but spinning on all 4 tires. I am origionaly from Illinois and am extreamly comfortable with icy and snowy conditions but with these tires I wont even make the drive to visit during winter months for fear of my life. Not quite sure how these tires can get a good rating but the deffinently do not and should not be used on a truck. The only good thing I can say about them is the noise level is very low until you try to turn into a parking spot or make a right hand turn up a hill from a light. Would not recomend these tires to anyone. I have just ordered new General Grabber AT2s and am looking forward to them. Excelent pricing even with shipping costs.

...The tire is mushy in both cornering and heavy braking - in having to stop short in traffic I can feel the tires squirm, and once or twice the vehicle has swerved to one side or the other; with the previous tires I did not have this problem, it has only begun since getting these tires so it's not the vehicle...
On dry roads, in easy driving situations, this tire is great. It rides smoothly and is quiet.
However when you push it, it shows poor quality. The tire is mushy in both cornering and heavy braking - in having to stop short in traffic I can feel the tires squirm, and once or twice the vehicle has swerved to one side or the other; with the previous tires I did not have this problem, it has only begun since getting these tires so it's not the vehicle.
Wet traction is not confidence inspiring. The previous tires would grip the road in any wet situation; these however leave you feeling as if the Jeep will be going off road soon; the vague handling makes you worry rather than just slowing down.
Speaking of off road, I know this is a street tire, but even in dry grass it doesn't have the traction you'd expect. We do some mild offroading from time to time, and these tires are a poor choice. Comparing to the previous tires again, extremely poor traction.
Haven't driven in snow with these yet, but will try to update and expect pretty much the same performance as everywhere else - poor.
Overall, I will not purchase this tire again. It will be either Michelins or Avons for the next time...previous tires were Avon/Cooper and served well.

Treadware is decent, would probably get another 20,000 miles, but there is virtually no traction at all from a complete stop; they spin on dry pavement. Even with 240# of sand over the rear axle there is very little traction in any kind of snow.
Am replacing with Firestone Destination AT this afternoon. Never had any problems in up to a foot of snow with previous 2WD P/Us with M/S or A/T tires and a little weight in the bed.

The Wrangler STs came on my New Grand Cherokee. They immediately felt strange compared to the RT/S tires on my old Jeep. Very "squishy" on turns and non responsive. High speed driving felt sloppy, not firm. After reading the reviews on Tirerack, and hearing about my friends hydroplaning experience with STs on his GMC Sierra, I purchased and installed a set of Yokohama Geolander HT/S. Wow! what a difference! Great handling. I am confident that they will be good in the rain and snow. One of the best tire values going.

Goodyear should be ashamed of themselves. This tire is dangerous in wet weather. 38,000 miles and the tires hace 4/32 front, 6/32 back. Can feel rumbling on highway, hydroplanes very easily and without warning, from around 60mh on highway. If your buying a new car and it has these tires on it, have the dealer switch them to anything else. Will be buying Firestone Destination LEs now.

...Ride at 35 lbs in all tires is pretty soft/sloppy...
47000 miles with 8/32 remaining of tread. Been thru 2 Oklahoma winters and 2 summers, pouring rain, ice, snow, and lots of high heat. Rotated tires 3 times, and all tires measure the same across tread. I run 42 front, and 38 rear in normal driving, 42 front, 44 rear when pulling a 5000 lb camper trailer with 400 lbs in the bed. No problems so far. Ride at 35 lbs in all tires is pretty soft/sloppy. When delivered new by dealership they had 32 front, 28 rear. Guess they thought I was going to plow with it.

These tires are crap that GM put on my 4x4 Chevy and they are worthless,no traction in wet grass, wet roads,or anywhere else I take my truck.May be alright for granny to ride on to church and the grocery store once a week but not anyone else.I dont stomp on it or spin my tires anymore,I have driven all my highway miles in a real easy manner and still only got 29,500 before they were almost at the treadwear bars all around.Just put some new Bridgestone Dueler A/Ts on yesterday, sure look good on her and hope they last longer than the Goodyear junk that came on it.Wish new vehicle mfgs.would put more aggresive tires on new 4 wheel drives instead of street tires that wear out in less than 30k miles.Avoid this tire, your life may depend on it!

Ill start by saying that Ive never been a big fan of GoodYear tires. These tires were on my Sport Trac from Ford and were not my choice. Most Goodyear tires I have had wore down extremely fast and were very noisy. These were fairly quite running tires for about the first 20K miles. After that they started to make noise and slip in the wet badly. They still have a decent amount of tread for the type of driving that I do. For the kind of price you would have to pay for a set of these I think you can easily find a better buy in another brand.

If these are such great tires than explain to me why my anti-lock breaks constantly kick on whenever I try to stop with these tires on slightly wet pavement... If you live in a climate that rarely rains and never snows these would be ok but any place else you are taking you life into your own hands after the first 5-8k miles.
If these are such great tires than explain to me why my anti-lock breaks constantly kick on whenever I try to stop with these tires on slightly wet pavement.
