The iON HT is Hankook's premium Highway All-Season tire, crafted for drivers of electric crossovers, EV pickups, and plug-in SUVs who prioritize extended tread life, ride comfort, and dependable all-season performance. Designed with low rolling resistance, quiet operation, and versatility in mind, it offers year-round traction, including capability in light snow.
The iON HT features a strong, but lightweight all-season "ProDurable" tread compound molded into a classic five-rib symmetric tread design. This pattern has been optimized down to the individual tread block through Hankook's Opti-Tread Technology, promoting even wear, low noise and all-season traction. Foam insulation and multi-pitch sequencing are designed to work alongside "Noise Guard" elements in the grooves to reduce disturbances for a quieter ride all over. When the weather turns wet, the four circumferential grooves, many lateral notches, and flared shoulder grooves help quickly clear water from the footprint, improving resistance to hydroplaning. 3D-Embossed Sipes create biting edges for grip in slippery conditions without compromising dry stability.
The iON HT was developed with efficiency and range in mind, from its low-temperature curing process to minimize energy loss, to its Roll Lite compound designed to reduce internal tire friction. Internally, two wide steel belts reinforced with a dual-layer polyamide cap provide stability and durability at highway speeds. A 2-ply polyester casing helps strike a balance between responsive handling and ride comfort.
