The Ecsta PA31 (Performance
All-Season) is Kumho's High Performance All-Season tire
developed for drivers of mid-level sports cars, sporty coupes and
high-performance sedans looking to combine everyday street performance
with treadwear. Designed to provide high performance handling in wet and
dry conditions, the Ecsta PA31 delivers Kumho's unparalleled combination
of ride comfort, low noise and all-season traction, even in light
snow.
Ecsta PA31 tires feature an advanced technology tread
compound that blends high performance handling and all-season traction
with long treadwear. Its compound is molded into a mildly directional
tread design that promotes even wear, responsive steering, cornering
stability and braking traction in all-season conditions. The directional
tread design's four circumferential and multiple cross grooves help
expel water quickly to resist hydroplaning and improving wet weather
traction while high sipe density and tread block edges enhance wet
weather handling and wintertime snow traction.
The tire's internal
structure features Kumho's ESCOT Technology to enhance steering response
and increase treadlife by optimizing cord tension distribution in the
sidewall.
flanco o pared.

...Snow traction is well above average, wet traction is spot on & dry traction is just perfect!...
This is one of the best tires I have ever put on a car! DEFINITELY an upgrade from the stock Goodyear RS-A's!!!! I can get aggressive with my driving & this tire handles it all. Snow traction is well above average, wet traction is spot on & dry traction is just perfect! When it comes to ice, well, ice is ice...there is not 1 tire that can compete with that...however, the PA31 does grip the ice pretty well. Dating back to my last car, this is the 4th set of Kumho's I have put on, & I used to buy from the likes of Pirelli, Yokohama & Toyo. Bottom line, you can't go wrong with selecting this tire.

Best investment I have made. I live in Chicago and we have harsh winters. I have yet to get stuck. Handels like a dream in snow or rain. And feels even better in dry conditions. Great deal for the price. Would def recomend for everyday city or highway driving.

After only a few thousand miles on the tires can't comment on wear - but I was pleasantly surprised with how quiet these tires are. Dry grip is predictably less than a performance oriented all season. Quiet Good grip in the wet Will comment on wear in future Inexpensive
At this point would buy again.

I live in in the snow belt in Cleveland and these are performing admirably... The Toyo's were horrible and I could hang the rear end out so easy... but these just grip and go. I had winter only's on my S60 and these perform the closest to a true snow tire than any other all season I've had before...
I purchased these to replace a set of Toyo's and although I haven't put many miles on them I am extremely impressed. Yes, they may be a bit soft but steering response is great and the ride is what I wanted on my S80. The biggest thing I can comment on is how they handle snow. ...It handles so well in snow and ice that for the first time, I will not be putting on my dedicated winter wheels with Yokohama Iceguards. They may not have quite the grip of the Iceguards, but the handling is quite good and very predictable when the tires break free.
This tire far exceeds my expectations, particularly when the price is considered. The comfort and quietness of these tires is really outstanding. The wet and dry performance is at least equal to the Toyo and General all seasons I have had on this car in the past. The winter performance is way better than previous tires. It handles so well in snow and ice that for the first time, I will not be putting on my dedicated winter wheels with Yokohama Iceguards. They may not have quite the grip of the Iceguards, but the handling is quite good and very predictable when the tires break free.

...Wet traction is very good, dry handling is good. Under hard cornering they complain a little and you can feel a little sidewall flex as it settles into the turn but I have not pushed them to the extreme...
I've only driven these tires for 4,000 miles but so far I am satisfied with their performance. Wet traction is very good, dry handling is good. Under hard cornering they complain a little (you can hear a little slid) and you can feel a little sidewall flex as it settles into the turn but I have not pushed them to the extreme. As this is a daily driver (about 60 miles round trip) I needed something with good wet traction and wanted something with good handling. So far I would say for the price, this is an excellent tradeoff between the two.

...they handle great, don't squeal, are great in wet/dry, and i don't see any tread wear in 6000 miles, lots of those miles at 100+ mph cross country...
All things relative, i have worn Kumho's on my M5 for 150,000 miles. mostly Supra SPT and got 8000 miles per set, consistently....heavy car, lots of HP, heavy foot. These PA31's were chosen for the all season tread on the TDI. they handle great, don't squeal, are great in wet/dry, and i don't see any tread wear in 6000 miles, lots of those miles at 100+ mph cross country. like them, will reorder when these wear out. If you don't like these tires there's something wrong with your car/driving style/whatever.

...The dry ride is firm and fairly quiet... Spirited cornering could be a little better, but acceptable...
After purchasing 4 different sets of Kumho's over the past decade (except a set of Nexen 3000), these by far have well exceeded my expectations. After 5K of miles, the tread is near new and deeper than any other Kumho I've had. The dry ride is firm and fairly quiet and very good in the rain. Spirited cornering could be a little better, but acceptable. I definitely would but these again.

...PA31 are butter smooth and nicely balanced, where the Michelins were always out of round throughout their life... Ride comfort and noise are noticeably better than the Michelins, which were pretty good already...
First review with only 50 miles on these Ecsta PA31, but I can attest to comparing them with the previous Michelin Primacy MXV4 they replaced: PA31 are butter smooth and nicely balanced, where the Michelins were always out of round throughout their life. PA31 a tad off-center feel compared to the linear Michelins, although not disturbingly so. Ride comfort and noise are noticeably better than the Michelins, which were pretty good already. I have only driven in wet surfaces and dry so far. Looking forward to next review after more environments are tested. Initial impression is extremely good, especially considering the price difference.

...Ride noise is down, but the Xb is a noisy car to begin with so I'd like to hear these PA31s in a regular sedan. Ride quality is definitely improved over the Goodyears...
After 1,000 miles on a 2011 Scion Xb - I only have worn-out Goodyear RS-As to compare these to, so anything is an improvement over that. Objectively, the tire rides and handles well, transitions are a bit soft but not overly so. Ride noise is down, but the Xb is a noisy car to begin with so I'd like to hear these PA31s in a regular sedan. Ride quality is definitely improved over the Goodyears. No data on wet weather driving or snow. Factory tread wear rating is an astronomical 500AA. I took a chance on these tires because they are so new that there's very little info on them, and I'm happy with the choice.

Upgraded wheels and tires from the stock conti pro contacts on the 2011 jetta s. Ride quality is dramatically improved. It feels like a completely different car. Cornering and braking is better and road noise is very low. Would definitely recommend especially for the price.

...SO far I have to say I am VERY impressed with ride quality, low tread noise and excellent wet traction. They balanced perfectly, NO shimmy all the way to 90 mph, I mean not a trace!...
My third set of Kumhos, I always was "satisfied" with these tires, not the best in class but always an excellent value (KU-27's and ASX's prior). SO far I have to say I am VERY impressed with ride quality, low tread noise and excellent wet traction. They balanced perfectly, NO shimmy all the way to 90 mph, I mean not a trace! Well see about winter traction, I suspect they will be good. My car is AWD and last season the KU-27's got me through almost three feet of snow at half tread depth....no easily mind you but three feet of snow is not a cake walk for any car. Will
