The Ecsta Sport A/S is Kumho's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sporty coupes, sports cars and performance sedans who want satisfying driving dynamics without giving up a quiet, comfortable ride. Designed to be proficient in the rain, while still combining the responsive handling and high-speed traction expected of a year-round performance tire, the Ecsta Sport A/S can be used in dry, wet and wintry conditions, even in light snow.

The high-grip resin compound of the Ecsta Sport A/S uses a performance-focused mix of silica and polymers to improve dry grip, handling, and wear life, which is then molded into an asymmetric tread pattern optimized for driver comfort and control. The outside shoulders has been stiffened and strengthened to help resist deformation during cornering and aggressive driving. Rounded block edges disperse impacts from uneven roads, and K-Noise Defender technology inside the grooves uses airflow-disrupting dimples to minimize noise and enhance comfort. The high silica content in the compound improves wet traction, and four wide, circumferential grooves and open shoulder slots help evacuate water to increase hydroplaning resistance. Zig-zag grooves offer grip in snowy conditions, and 3-D interlocking sipes provide the biting edges needed for traction in snow and on ice while minimizing tread block movement.

Utilizing two polyester plies for the casing helps the Ecsta Sport A/S balance comfort and durability, and the two wide, steel belts are reinforced by a single, polyamide cap ply that aids steering response and provides high-speed capability.
