The Solus KH25 (so'lus) is Kumho's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sporty coupes and touring sedans. Solus KH25 tires are designed to blend noise comfort, ride comfort and balanced all-season performance with dry, wet and wintertime traction, even in light snow.

Solus KH25 tires mold a silica-enhanced all-season tread compound into a symmetric tread design that features full-depth circumferential grooves and variable-pitch lateral grooves to enhance hydroplaning resistance and snow traction while reducing noise. The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped nylon to promote stability and high-speed durability while polyester body plies provide casing strength and a smooth ride.

Kumho Reviews

User feedback reveals the Kumho Solus KH25 delivers strong dry traction (scores 8-10 dominate) with responsive handling in ideal conditions, aligning with Grand Touring expectations. However, comfort receives mixed ratings (common scores 4-6), with some noting excessive road noise and inconsistent ride smoothness. Treadwear shows polarizing results-some report premature wear (scores 0-5), while others cite average longevity. Winter performance falls short (frequent 0-3 ratings), struggling in snow/ice despite its all-season designation. Wet traction proves adequate for light rain (scores 5-7 typical) but shows hydroplaning concerns in heavy downpours. Best suited for drivers prioritizing dry-road competence over all-weather versatility.

...The only positive thing is dry weather performance is good.

These tires are the worst. They are the O.E. for my Dart. I commute 60 to 90 miles daily(65% highway/35% city) . The only reason I still have them on my car is my wheel and tire warranty, I have gone through sixteen(16) tires since 2/17/14 . The miles listed is the total on the car I have only bought/replaced one tire since I have owned them because of wear, the rest were all potholes, speed bumps, and cracks in the road. They pop the same way small blow out in the dead center of the sidewall, I have never had a failure through the tread. They are noisy and wet/winter traction in below average. The only positive thing is dry weather performance is good.

Based on other reviews I have read, I actually had to double check to make sure it was the same tire. My se accent came stock with these and I must confess, I am not easy on cornering and the traction is far greater than expected. I am guilty to say that being a petrol-head has caused me to pull corners as fast as possible on racing lines. I do not do this on a daily basis, so the fact that I can go from playfully to casual is without worry of loss of traction. I have not dared take it out during snow, but I have hit small patches of ice and my vehicle tracked straight. During the rain, I have noticed that they break traction far easier when starting on from a stop, but breaking doesn't seem to be affected. Myou tires have just been rotated for the second time since I bought the vehicle in 2013 and have no clear bulges, abnormal wear, or defects of any kind. This surprised me because the roads here can be extremely turtle backed. Overall, these grip well, wear evenly, and cheap compared to many other brands. I would gladly buy these again!

No matter what the ratings say, these are summer only tires. Heavy rain or any kind of cold precipitation, and welcome to the skating rink. For a front wheel drive car to have a constant rear end pull to the left in weather is unacceptable. I will be getting new tires soon.

...Wet performance is poor and they seem easy to hydroplane...

Dry weather performance is just O.K. My automatic Ford Fiesta will easily spin the tires. Wet performance is poor and they seem easy to hydroplane. Ice and snow performance is horrible. Tread wear also is not too good. On the plus side, they are quiet and seem to ride alright. I would definitely spend the extra money for a good set of Michelin MXV4's which I had on my last car. They had very good wet and dry performance and quite good on snow and ice in Michigan winters.

...At first I didnt notice anything negative about these tires until the first rainfall. Being this car was brand new I was going easy in the rain, and I still slipped when accelerating and braking...

This tire came OEM on my 2013 Dodge Dart Turbo Limited. At first I didnt notice anything negative about these tires until the first rainfall. Being this car was brand new I was going easy in the rain, and I still slipped when accelerating and braking. Hydroplaning, I gave a 6 because after the first slippage at an intersection i made sure to be careful to prevent hydroplaning, and never felt a tendency to slide. Then comes the first snowfall in NY. I had to work. When i left work there was only an inch MAYBE 1.5 inches on the ground. I live 15 minutes from my job, it took me 2 hours to get home. I had gotten stuck on the SMALLEST incline. I was so mad because I got passed by a Mustang, he had no problem. I had to go back and try again 4 times. I also had to brush off the snow of my tires because snow was caked on so bad I couldnt even see the tread pattern. Then about a week ago we had a smaller snow fall, but with colder temperatures, and there was a tiny bit of icy mix on the roads, not a lot, and taking my time i tried to turn in my driveway, and slid right past it instead. NEVER will i recommend these tires, and thank goodness my snow tires are delivered and on my car or else I would be screwed. Also, these tires are wearing irregularly. I've properly kept the psi in the right spot, and rotated the tires when they were on, balanced them... and 3 of the tires were wearing lopsided. They are also noisy. I am so disappointed in Dodge for letting this set of tires on their vehicles. Such a bad decision. I threw them away when I put my winter tires on, so I'll be buying a new set come march/april.

These tires are deadly. Any snow fall and the driver loses all traction and control even going 5 mph. At 5 mph you can easily drive off the road. You're better off with bald tires on ice than these tires. I bought a brand new car and during the 1st snow fall thought it was me. 2nd snow fall and having to drive around to find a road without an incline so I could get to work, I knew it was not me. No traction to stop - go through red lights- car stop when no forward momentum. Possibly deadly. Surprised they are even allowed to be sold.

...In winter my car becomes a driving on bald tires in the snow, as good as these things perform...

I grew up and learned to drive in Maine and have been driving for 20 years. Never before have I had to drop to 40mph or less on the highway in moderate rain due to slipping and hydroplaning, but I routinely have to on these tires. In winter my car becomes a death trap, I might as well be driving on bald tires in the snow, as good as these things perform. Sometimes they slip even in dry conditions. They wear out very quickly, I just hit 32,000 miles on my car and am about to have to replace my second set because of the wear. I was surprised to learn these are all-weather. I cringe going over any crack or pot hole, afraid they'll blow or form a leak. I love my car, but I've been tempted to trade it in because of how horrible these tires are. I seriously hope there are alternative tires available for me to purchase that are better.

O.E tire from Hyundai. This tire is a piece of junk. Steering response is very vague, and handling in any condition is terrible for what the car is capable of. My largest complaint is the ride comfort- these things just crash and drum over any road imperfections. Forget about absorbing the impact, these things seem to magnify it. If you live in an area where it snows even sometimes these are about as useless as summer tires. Absolutely no traction whatsoever in even light snow. Avoid at all costs.

Came stock with the purchase of my 2011 Hyundai Sonata. First 15,000 miles were good, but there's no way to expect 50,000 miles out of these tires. The treads wear fast, but I was forced to replace due to the rib of the front tire completely cracked. Replacement options for this size tire are very limited so I sized up and replaced with Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals. Wouldn't suggest Kumho tires, unless going for a cheaper alternative.

These tires came stock on my 2011 Hyundai Accent sport hatch, and even though I babied it and rarely ever exceeded 65mph on highway, 40 everywhere else, they were worn down to wearbars with less than 20k miles. Contacted Kumho, they didnt even return messages or try to help. They are also completely useless in snow or ice or even heavy rain. Only good thing is they are quiet and decent in dry warm weather. Unless dirt cheap, find something better.

OEM tire on my 2011 Sonata GLS. Tires have 22,500 on them and all four have 6/32" tread depth remaining according to the Hyundai dealer. Should be good for another 10,000 miles at the most. Tires are very noisy. Traction control kicks in when accelerating on wet pavement. Ride quality is only average, some harsh bumps really get transmitted to the suspension. Steering response is decent, and the tires hold corners well. Snow traction is only fair. Snow over 5" can get very dicey as the tires scramble for traction. Starting in 2nd gear is a must with these tires in deeper snow. Light snow (1"-3") is a little better but not 100% confidence inspiring. No all-season tire will be effective on ice, and these are no exception. If the roads are icy, stay home. When these tires need replacing I will be choosing something else. Nothing against Kumho, but will most likely stay away from the Solus line of tires. Would be willing to try the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum in the OEM size.
