The Primacy HP is Michelin's Grand Touring Summer tire developed to provide longer tread life and lasting performance throughout the tire's life, as well as better braking, steering control and handling on wet roads. The Primacy HP tires meet Michelin's Green X standard* for eco-focused manufacturing and low rolling resistance, and confirms the tire's contribution to reducing vehicle fuel consumption, emission of CO2 gases and improving sustainability through conservation of natural resources. While Primacy HP tires are designed to offer reliable traction in dry and wet conditions, they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
Primacy HP tires benefit from Michelin design innovations known as A.S.M. (Architecture, Sculpture and Materials) reflecting Michelin's ability to focus simultaneously on three fundamental factors that determine a tire's capabilities. Using their A.S.M. design method, Michelin can develop tires that combine an architecture that deforms more easily to optimize contact with the road, a tread design sculpture that remains rigid so more of the footprint contributes to performance, and unique tread compound materials precisely blended by Michelin's mixing technology.
Primacy HP tires use a new generation Michelin tread compound molded into an asymmetric tread design that features large, linked shoulder blocks, notched intermediate ribs and a solid center rib to combine responsive handling and high-speed stability with traction and even treadwear. The Primacy HP tire's structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by size-optimized BAZ Technology (spiral-wrapped Polyamide Banded At Zero degrees to tire rotation) to enhance ride quality while providing high-speed durability.
*Specific sizes featuring Green X Technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

...I have NOT hydroplaned once in these tires even when I definitely should have...
These are single handedly the best tires I have ever purchased, ever. I was hesitant at first to buy such “premium” or “expensive” tires but they are well worth the extra money. I have 10,000 miles on them, as well as almost a full year, a spring, summer, fall and particularly grueling winter and so far you cannot tell that the tread has worn even a little bit. Where I live, throughout the year we get highs of 100 in the summer, and in winter we get below zero with 12+ inches of snowfall. It’s now February and after 4 weeks of constant snow, sleet and ice I can confidently write this review claiming these may be the best tires offered for any car period. The accord crosstour, while not having a world famous 4WD system will always do “okay” in snowy conditions. But this winter with these tires, I did not slip, slide or have any issues coming to a stop like I have with past tires. I tried several times to get “spirited” in an empty icy parking lot and THEY WOULD NOT BREAK TRACTION. It actually felt like I was cheating having these tires on. Not to mention the summer performance of these tires is phenomenal. There’s minimum road noise and you have a sense of “grounded” that, at least for me, I have never felt before. I have NOT hydroplaned once in these tires even when I definitely should have. I cannot rate these highly enough. I cannot recommend these tires enough. Go ahead and spend the extra $300. What you lose in money will be far compensated by the safety, reliability, stability, capability, and dependability of these tires.

Posting this after only a couple hundred miles, so take the review FWIW. Found out my previous tires needed replacement after driving in wet conditions and hydroplaning even at relatively low speeds. Of course, this happened on Thanksgiving day. Once we got to our destination, I hopped onto TireRack.com and started researching. Found these were highly rated for wet conditions and placed an order. Got them installed a couple days later. Had to drive ~ 120 miles for a quick visit to family. Ride out was excellent in dry conditions. Ride home was more challenging. Drove ~ 2 hours through a mix of snow/sleet and eventually rain through central PA in early morning. Roads had not been cleared or well cared for. Tires performed well. Seem fine around town as well. So far, so good!

...Everyone in my family is switching to these tires even though we live in SC, we see lots of in the rain and occasional in snow in the mountains, the wet traction is superior on these tires.
I moved from a set of original Michelin CC tires to the CC 2's. The difference is night and day, the 2's have much deeper treads and yet quieter than the originals. Traction is superior so far, although no snow driving yet.

...When it snowed, again I expected the worst but will rate it the best...
I always purchase high end luxury or sport tires depending on the vehicle. I am shocked at how smooth and quiet these tires are on a soccer mom SUV. When it snowed, again I expected the worst but will rate it the best. While these are higher priced than most, I definitely feel I got my moneys worth.

I've driven these in rain, snow and icy conditions and they perform as good as my dedicated snow tires did. Sticks to the road like glue. I don't think I need to swap tires for the different seasons now.

Very grippy, on dry roads and wet. Light snow traction is very good - inspires confidence. Only complaint is that these are noisy, but that's to be expected with a tread pattern that's this aggressive. Overall, a great tire experience.

...Fantastic treadwear...
Nice looking tire that is great on snow. Fantastic treadwear.
However.... they started to "sing" after about 5k miles. Slow or fast. Hot or cold. Very noisy and annoying!

This is easily the best SUV all season tire I have owned across three different Subaru Foresters and a Nissan Pathfinder. The treadwear is outstanding as I am nearing 60K miles on this set, and have close to 2/32 left before I hit the wear bars. I will likely get a new set before winter just to be safe on ski trips to northern NH and Maine. This tire is outstanding in wet conditions and also in any type of snow. It is not studded, so icy conditions are what they are and as mentioned the treadwear is excellent. Handling is also outstanding. There are cheaper options, but I will be buying another set!

Michelin worked closely with Subaru to develop the Primacy HP as the BRZ's O.E. tire. It's a Grand Touring Summer tire that's very "real world" and well matched to the BRZ's capabilities. Steering control, braking and handling are built in, so let's see what Motor Trend Head 2 Head's Randy Pobst can do with these on the car at the Streets of Willow.
The Downshift Episode 65: The One About Tires(14:11)
Motor Trend's The Downshift, a team from Tire Rack, and a team from Motor Trend headed out to Willow Springs for some tire testing. Are performance tires better than factory tires? How much can they really make a difference? These questions and more are answered when Randy Pobst hits the track in a BMW 328i, Mustang V-6, and Subaru BRZ.
