The Energy LX4 is Michelin's Passenger All-Season tire developed for the drivers of full-size sedans, minivans and crossover utility vehicles looking to combine fuel efficiency, ride comfort and all-season traction. Michelin Energy LX4 tires are designed to provide long wear and traction in a wide range of driving conditions including occasional light snow.
Energy LX4 tires use a long lasting all-season compound molded into a symmetric tread design featuring rounder shoulders to provide progressive, predictable cornering. Circumferential grooves and independent tread blocks enhance hydroplaning resistance and wet traction while a continuous center rib promotes highway stability and a quiet, comfortable ride.
Michelin EnergySaver Construction helps enhance vehicle fuel efficiency by requiring less effort from the engine while their Comfort Control Technology uses computer-optimized design and precision manufacturing to reduce vibrations and road noise.

Customer feedback data reveals the Michelin Energy LX4 delivers a smooth, quiet ride (scores 7-10) and confident dry traction (7-10), aligning well with its Standard Touring All-Season role. However, treadwear scores show significant concerns, with many ratings below 5 indicating rapid wear and disappointing tread life. Winter traction receives mixed feedback (common scores 2-6), with drivers noting limited grip on ice and in deeper snow. Wet performance is inconsistent, with hydroplaning resistance scoring 5-8 but some reports of reduced confidence in heavy rain. While comfort and dry handling shine, buyers prioritizing long-term value may find the tread durability a drawback.

...I have tried fast starts from standstill with no slippage even when pulling hard rights (which all Vue owners know happens alot with stock tires). Cornering is great as well...
After running down my OEM HT Dulers at 27k miles I looked for something better. After reading the reviews on tirerack.com I choose the Michelin Energy LX4s. I could not be more pleased with these tires. They are a signifant increase in quality from the stock tires on my Saturn 2003 Vue AWD. The highway tire noise is so low I can hear the engine on accelration. I have tried fast starts from standstill with no slippage even when pulling hard rights (which all Vue owners know happens alot with stock tires). Cornering is great as well. It rained this past week and I have had no problem with highway nor street driving) I highly recomend these tires for Saturn Vue AWD Owners.

...They were exceptionalon dry pavement and above average on the wet stuff...
Got these tires as OEM. They were exceptional tires on dry pavement and above average on the wet stuff. They've only seen snow a couple of times and seemed fine to me.
Great handling and performance through the first 45k miles. I found them to be very quiet for the first 40k miles but then got rather noisy at 50k. From 50k to 60k they are really annoying. I still have about 4/32 of tread on them but can't take the noise any longer. I looked around but decided to go with another set of LX4s. I liked the performance and never experenced a flat. I hope to get another 3 years of quiet performance out of them before selling the minivan. We have moved cross country twice and spend a lot of time in the vehicle so these tires get a lot of use. I rotate and balance them about every 10k miles which I believed extended the tread life. They were on target for 70k miles but I just couldn't take the noise once I hit 50mph. I decided to get a new set for the performance and hope these tires hold out as long and keep quiet through the duration that I own the vehicle.

Excellent ride and cornering. Only disappointment is shorter than expected tread life even with proper rotation and balance maintenance. Will buy again due to handling characteristics of tire.

Most customers rate ride comfort and noise levels highly, with scores between 7-10. Positive feedback highlights smooth handling and reduced road noise, aligning well with all-season touring expectations. Some note occasional inconsistencies, but overall satisfaction remains strong for this category.

Very quiet and excellent comfort...
Very good tires even after 33k miles still gets good grip in torrential Florida rain. Very quiet and excellent comfort. Will definitely buy again. Still has aprox 10k miles left. Well worth the money.

...These run quiet, handle nicely, and still have about 10,000 miles left on them. No complaints and will buy again...
Self employed consultant. Use my car 6 days a week and basically live in it. Mobile office. I drive hard, fast and in all types of weather. These run quiet, handle nicely, and still have about 10,000 miles left on them. No complaints and will buy again. Never needed rebalancing. Plugged nail holes from job sites 4 times myself and the tires just keep working fine. Do not expect my crossover Lexus to perform like a sports car butm it sure drives nicer than all ofthe other SUV's I tested and these tires, like my past vehicles Michelin's, have performed very well.

...So far the Michelin tires ride just as quiet as the Bridgestones...
I purchased the Michelin tires to replace the original Bridgestone tires (which hydroplaned at 50000 miles, as reported in other reviews). So far the Michelin tiresride just as quiet as the Bridgestones and provide the same gas mileage. As far as wear and hydroplaning I have not had them long enough to know how they will perform.

While some customers rate wet traction highly with 8s and 9s, numerous scores between 3-6 indicate mediocre wet performance, with reports of sliding and hydroplaning concerns.

...Terrible in the rain, very prone to hydroplaning...
These were the OEM tires. Noisy after a few thousand miles. Tread was 60 percent gone by 12k miles. Terrible in the rain, very prone to hydroplaning. Very noisy on the coarse road surfaces prevalent in South Florida. Very mushy in the curves. Shame on Honda for fitting such poor tires to their expensive product.

...These tires are reasonably quiet, but will spin/slide frequently on wet roads even when driving carefully...
Absolutely a dangerous tire. I cant believe that Toyota sells vehicles with these tires on them - especially in Canada where snow is certain. These tires are reasonably quiet, but will spin/slide frequently on wet roads even when driving carefully and are completely useless in snow (a dedicated winter set a must). The abysmal treadlife actually turned out to be a blessing since I can now replace them with some decent rubber.

Winter traction receives concerning scores with many 0-6 ratings. Customers report slippery conditions in snow/ice, poor handling, and getting stuck. Unacceptable performance for an all-season tire, indicating lack of winter capability.

...They have HORRIBLE traction in snow (always have) and I can't wait to replace them for the safety of my family. If you drive in any kind of snow or ice conditions, all I can say is STAY AWAY - STAY FAR FAR AWAY.
These were the OEM tires for our 2008 Honda EX-L Odyssey. 38K on them, and they are worn out. They have HORRIBLE traction in snow (always have) and I can't wait to replace them for the safety of my family. If you drive in any kind of snow or ice conditions, all I can say is STAY AWAY - STAY FAR FAR AWAY.

Worst tires ever. I have had three replaced by the dealer due to the belt moving and the tire becoming unable to be balanced. The fourth tire and one of the replacement tires have again, had the belt shift which caused the tire to be out of balance. They are also very bad in snow or ice. Road noise is bad, but I blame some of that on Honda.

Tires handle poorly, poor treawear, feels like you are driving on ice, makes it feel like you are floating, grooved pavement makes it worse, not fun. Never michelins ever. Going back and staying with Generals.

Treadwear ratings show concerning patterns, with many scoring 0-5 citing rapid wear and needing replacement early. Even with some 9s-10s, dissatisfaction with tread life is prominent for this all-season tire.

...Treadwear was horrible even with religious rotation and balancing... Had to replace them at 35,000 miles...
These tires came OEM on my 2007 Sienna. Treadwear was horrible even with religious rotation and balancing. Noise level was quite high tires also started screeching while turning at 20,000 miles. Had to replace them at 35,000 miles switched to Yokohama Avid Touring S with much improved noise levels and better handling. Hope the treadwear lasts longer then the Michelins. These Yokohamas are half the price of the Michelins and come with a 65000 mile treadlife warranty.

...My Honda Odyssey came with these Michelin Energy LX4 tires and they need to be replaced at only 40,000 miles... I can't believe that Honda uses such low quality tires...
I would like to thank Tirerack.com for this web site. My Honda Odyssey came with these Michelin Energy LX4 tires and they need to be replaced at only 40,000 miles. First I thought the tires had some sort of manufacturing problem, but after reading all these consumer reports, I see that there are many people out there with the same problem. I can't believe that Honda uses such low quality tires. I am even willing to write a letter to Honda to complain. Worst part is that these tires are VERY expensive and don't even have a treadwear warranty. For what I have read it seems that the Yokohama Avid TRZ might be a good alternative. I will definetely not buy a Michelin tire ever again.
...Worst of all, with only 12,000 milessignificant treadwear has led to new tire shopping...
These tires came OEM on the Sienna. They started well and did fine in perfect conditions but handled sloppily and were no better than average in wet conditions. They were hazardous in the snow. Worst of all, with only 12,000 miles significant treadwear has led to new tire shopping. I do not recommend this tire.
