The LTX A/T2 is Michelin's On-Road All-Terrain light truck tire developed to meet the needs of today's recreational and commercial pickup, van and SUV drivers. It was designed to provide even wear, low noise and good fuel efficiency, even in demanding commercial applications while delivering the year-round traction and durability expected from rugged off-road tires without forsaking the on-road comfort and handling expected of a Michelin tire.

The LTX A/T2 features an advanced light truck tread rubber compound molded into an independent tread block tread design featuring Michelin Biting Edges (notched blocks in the tread pattern) that enhance traction on dirt, mud, gravel, wet grass and snow. Michelin's Advanced MaxTouch Construction results in a unique tire footprint shape that allows for long-lasting, even treadwear while their Comfort Control Technology uses computer-optimized design and precision manufacturing to reduce vibrations and road noise to deliver a comfortable ride. The tire's internal structure includes two or three steel belts depending on the tire's Load Range and manufacturing location to enhance durability and tread puncture resistance.

Customers Say

Ratings highlight excellence in dry and wet traction, with scores consistently in the 9-10 range, reflecting the tire's on-road all-terrain design. Winter traction earns praise for deep snow and slush performance, though ice traction shows occasional variability. Comfort receives strong marks for a smooth ride, with noise levels generally rated 7-10. Treadwear scores cluster around 8-10, suggesting durability aligns well with expectations for rugged use. While a few ratings note minor trade-offs in icy conditions, feedback overwhelmingly emphasizes reliable all-terrain capability, making it a standout for drivers prioritizing confident dry/wet handling and off-road versatility without sacrificing on-road comfort.

...The wet traction is so good, the Liberty becomes a much safer vehicle in wet weather...

These tires replaced the original Goodyear Wrangler SR-A which had very poor wet weather traction and issues. The Michelin LTXAT2 are a wonderful ride. The wet traction is so good, the Liberty becomes a much safer vehicle in wet weather. Snow performance this past winter was excellent as well. I highly recommend this tire for the Jeep Liberty.

I needed a tire that would not slip on wet streets when accelerating from a dead stop. These tires are great, for that...

I bought these tires because I haul 12000 pound trailer loads with my truck, a 2500 Dodge Ram Diesel. I needed a tire that would not slip on wet streets when accelerating from a dead stop. These tires are great, for that. I am writing this review to warn about how these tires perform in the mud---THE WORST! They slip, slide, skid around and make mud fly everywhere! My truck turns brown if I drive through any mud. Afterwards, when the mud dries, the tires throw mud all over the street and other cars. I get honked at by irate drivers. It is horrible. If you are going to be driving in muddy conditions, you do NOT want these tires. They reduce any muddy surface to a mud trench in seconds. If you drive over a wet lawn, it's gone and mud replaces the grass. I may still buy these tires, again, but only if I can't find a tire that is rated as good for wet streets and much better for driving in the mud.

I replaced the Bridgestone Revos at 50Kmi with this tire (See my reveiw of that tire) Though Im only at 2Kmi with this Michelin, I wanted to give a early review. Ive driven seveal hundred miles highway, and am now in Juneau Alaska to report on the ice/snow application. Im quite pleased with the ice application in particualr. I used to be skeptical of ANY tire on ice, but Im quite pleased with the AT2 on ice. The ROAD NOISE of this tire is no better/worse that any AT tire, you'll still hear them, but its not objectionable. Wear on this tire? Way too early to tell. Stay tuned. CK

I am very pleased with these Michelins. I have driven these in all four seasons. Great on dry pavement, very good on snow and ice. I have also loaded up my truck multiple times and these tires can handle the weight and still maintain a stable ride.

...They're competent and have excellent siping and tread pattern for on-road wet and dry driving...

My truck came with a set of Goodyear Wrangler SRA's on them. The forums said it stands for Slides Round Anywhere. My first week I couldn't get traction in a car wash and the traction control pulled the truck into a railing. The truck went back to the dealer and they gave me a credit for the tires toward something else. I read consumer reports and went with the LTX AT2 based on a combination of hydroplaning resistance, ice breaking and combination on/off road driving. I didn't buy them to be a MT tire, but we live off of a gravel mountain road and I need better than a hwy tire for year-round driving. We see several feet of snow at a time in the mountains of Idaho. These have been good so far. Not great, but good. I like them better than I liked the Destination A/T's that I had on my Frontier, but I recognize limitations. Obviously not as good as a dedicated snow tire like a Blizzak in the winter. They're a good all-around light truck tire with better than average tread life. They're competent and have excellent siping and tread pattern for on-road wet and dry driving. They're quiet, though not as comfortable a ride as the OEM SRA's. Better than an aggressive AT on road, and better than an All-Season Off-Road. It is a compromise tire. I did get a small slice from something in the tread on one tire within the first month, and it will be interesting to see how well they hold up long term. So far at 15k miles, mixed 30/30/30 hwy/city/dirt driving, rotated every 7500 with plenty of tire tread left.

...Handling and ride are very good...

I purchased this Escape with 26,000 miles on the odometer. It had the original Continental Conti-Trac tires that had all the normal symptoms as seen all over the Tirerack reviews. These tires were EXTREMELY loud and flat spotted, not to mention one had a bulge in the outer sidewall. I purchased the Michelins knowing that I would get what I paid for. The Escape has, in my opinion a little too much road noise, but these tires definitely are a lot quieter than the conti-tracs!! Handling and ride are very good. Past experience with this tire tells me the treadwear will also be excellent so long the vehicle is PROPERLY aligned and ROTATIONS are done often and consistently. We had a lot of snow this winter, and I had no problems at all with these tires. Wet traction is also quite good. I noticed that when the tire store mounted and balanced these tires, they required very little weight to balance out. It has always been my opinion that good quality tires balance with less weight and seem to maintain balance longer than other cheaper tires. I really cannot say anything negative about this tire. If you calculate the possibilities of getting a realistic 65,000-70,000 miles on this tire with proper alignment and rotations, you might be costing yourself more money in the long run if you purchase a cheaper tire with a 30-40,000 mile life. You cannot go wrong with this tire and they are well worth the money!

...Amazing difference in improved ride comfort and reduced noise levels...

Initial review. I replaced BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KOs with these tires. Amazing difference in improved ride comfort and reduced noise levels. Excellent appearance and no blemishes at all or signs or bulges, which tires this size occasionally reveal once mounted. I expect they will perform well over many miles and will follow up after the winter.

...These tires glide down the hwy smooth quite and comfortable.

Deceptive traction these are great better than AT-KO in sand-snow & any mud found on country roads and two-track tails. These are not mud bog tires or are they designed to be. Most driving is on hwy and county dirt roads with 30% on upper michigan two track trails. These are great off road and are the best for dry, wet, snow, or ice conditions found on hwy/co roads. If these were car tires I would get 80,000 miles from them but these are on my 4x4 so this fall I will get a new set. I should have 70,000 on then by late Oct.These tires are still round and simple glide down the hwy smooth quite and comfortable.
