The Turanza EL400-02 and Turanza EL400 w/UNI-T are Bridgestone's Standard Touring All-Season tires developed to meet the Original Equipment and replacement tire needs of drivers for their sporty coupes, sedans and vans. Turanza EL400 tires are designed to provide a luxury appearance, long wear and responsive handling along with dry, wet and year-round traction, even in light snow.
Bridgestone's Ultimate Network of Intelligent Tire Technology (UNI-T) features three core elements: CO'CS, a Computer Optimized Component System which allows design and manufacturing processes to work more cooperatively, leading to a more effective tire that doesn't significantly sacrifice one area of performance for improvements in another; O-Bead, a rounder bead structure that minimizes overlapped joints in the bead area for improved ride; and L.L. Carbon (Long Link Carbon) which helps the rubber compound resist microscopic tread tearing related to wear.
On the outside, Turanza EL400 tires features their tread rubber compound molded into a symmetric tread design with straight circumferential grooves to balance dry and wet road traction with noise comfort and hydroplaning resistance. On the inside, the Turanza EL400 features twin steel belts for strength and stability with a polyester cord body to enhance ride comfort.
*Specific sizes featuring UNI-T technology are identified as such on the Sizes tab, as well as on the tire's Specs tab.

Why Gamble With Winter Tire Selection When Four of a Kind Always Beats Two Pair?(01:56)
Some drivers still doubt the industry's requirement for equipping front-wheel drive vehicles with matching winter tires all the way around. To address those doubts and demonstrate what can happen when mixed tires reach their limits on hard-packed snow and ice, we did some tests at our local skating rink.
User feedback reveals the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 excels in winter traction, with snow traction (9-10) and ice traction (7-10) earning consistent praise for confident handling in harsh conditions. Wet traction scores (7-10) highlight strong hydroplaning resistance and reliable grip. Dry traction (7-10) is noted as dependable, though less critical for a winter-focused tire. Comfort receives high marks (7-10) for a smooth, quiet ride. Treadwear (7-10) is generally viewed positively, with some variability noted. While ice traction occasionally dips to 7, most users report outstanding winter performance, making it a trusted choice for drivers prioritizing cold-weather safety.

...In wet conditions or rain the tires again perform well. Grip is good and confidence is high even in a down pour...
Great snow tire with the added benefit of working well in wet conditions and in dry conditions. Possibly the best snow tire I've ever used. Any snow or slush, no matter how much or how little this tire just grips and preforms well. Icy intersection where you might slide as you try to stop do not phase this tire. It just stops. In wet conditions or rain the tires again perform well. Grip is good and confidence is high even in a down pour. In dry conditions, which happens in winter, the tire performs as well or better than any all-season tire. Of course they can't compare to a dedicated summer tire, but they give you plenty of dry road grip so you can still have some fun while the snow tires are on.

These tires have far exceeded my expectations. Other Giulia Quadrifoglio owners have said these are the best winter tires available for this car & they are correct. I use this as a daily driver all year round in New England, and so far this winter the traction in the cold freezing temps and wet rain has been unreal. I drive this car in Race Mode (which automatically turns off traction/ESC) probably 50% of the time and have yet to spin the rear tires. We've had a light winter, so unfortunately can't speak to how the Alpin's handle in deep snow yet, but in light snow the grip is very good. I'm really just blown away by how good these tires are so far in freezing/icy conditions with a rear wheel drive 505HP car. They are worth every cent.

...They do better in the wet then in the dry. All around great tire for daily and spirited driving.
Best winter tire for a sport car hands down. I have these on 2019 mustang gt pp2. They do better in the wet then in the dry. All around great tire for daily and spirited driving.

...They are quite, responsive, and almost feel like you're driving a pilot sport in the winter!...
Wow what a difference from the factory 20 inch Goodyear F1! It actually out handles an ultra high performance “all season” tire! They are quite, responsive, and almost feel like you’re driving a pilot sport in the winter! My EV barely noticed a range drop and acceleration is great. I noticed that they do break loose when accelerating from 40-75 at full throttle though nothing serious. I love these tires! The PA4 I received was the N-spec version which is a different pattern than the the traditional PA-4. Exceptional tire overall!

Ride quality is probably as good as a tire with a 30 series sidewall can get. Dry traction is still surprisingly good for a winter tire. I can put down almost 500hp in 2nd gear at 35F with no wheelspin. Also excellent hydroplaning resistance. With these tires I have been able to get my 22 Corvette through 2-4" of Buffalo NY snow. Snow braking is very good with ABS only on harder stops. The rears can slip a bit when accelerating but not to the point where it would get sketchy or you would get stuck. This is likely just due to them being wide (305). Would have gone with the Alpin 5 but its sizes are oddly limited so far. The PA4 is older at this point but still gets the job done.

I needed a winter tire for a cross country road trip over the holidays and expected to encounter every condition from -10F, ice, deep snow, and 50F weather. I spent probably the majority of the trip on the highway doing 70+MPH with minimal road noise and solid comfort.
As temperatures were at/above 50F for parts of the trip, the tire was expected soft and unresponsive but never felt dangerous. In mild snow the tire handled as advertised. In deeper snow, snow that was borderline clearable in the A4, I still had good traction to get me to and from the trails. In the small time we spent on ice in Nebraska, I could feel the tire working with quattro to keep things planted. There were a couple nervous maneuvers with lane changes, but was relatively pleased. Given the low rate of speed though, I'm unsure how they would perform on ice above 40-50 MPH for longer distances as our stretch of road was covered in ice for 15+ miles.
Overall, it's solid performer for a performance winter and did exactly what I needed it to do given the gamut of conditions from east to west.

I left the tires on through the summer because they are quiet and have a great ride...
I used these snow tires on my 2009 Rear Wheel Drive BMW M3, with 440-hp, in the Denver area. Denver has excellent snow removal, so most of the snow and ice driving was in less than 3" of snow, or the days after on wet streets with spots of ice. Without winter tires, the M3 is undriveable in these conditions. With the Michelin Alpin tires, traction is great and the car is very manageable and fun to drive.
I left the tires on through the summer because they are quiet and have a great ride. Performance in the dry is not totally up to a summer tire, but they're very good in the dry and exceptionally good in rain. Four season tires don't cut it here, with powerful RWD, but these Michelins are fantastic. I've ordered a set for my M4 Competition X-drive.
I have absolutely no complaints about these tires for year round driving.

...Wear is minimal. I'll be using these every winter for a long while.
Was looking for high performance winter tire. I got it. New Jersey last winter was pretty mild - minimum snow or ice. Regardless of the weather and temperature, car performance was always optimum. Wear is minimal. I'll be using these every winter for a long while.

This is now my go to tire for New York winters. I just hit 10,000 miles on this set of tires and completed my second tire rotation. The front two tires show a bit more wear than the rear, mainly because they guide the car through steering. Only the outer sidewall show a slight sign of wear. Overall the tires look and drive like they are brand new.
Winter driving: The PA4's truly are amazing. During one of the snowfalls, I tried to make them slip in an empty parking lot just to see how good they really were. I could barely lose grip. Even on ice these tires find a way to stop my car. The PA4's have definitely saved my life this winter numerous times. The overall design of the tire and thoughtful tread placements are very effective. These are the safest tires that I have driven on in bad weather.
Dry/Wet Road: On dry roads I feel as if I have performance summer tires. Cornering responsiveness with these tires make the $400 stock Yoko's look like junk. Crisp steering and amazing grip, I have made moves with these tires that most dedicated summer tires would not be able to hold me. These tires are drivable all year round, although they shine brilliantly during winter conditions.
On wet roads, the large tread cuts through puddles and eliminates hydroplaning. They also provide more cushion when hitting potholes and bumps, and give a very secure feeling when doing so.
Currently, there is no better tire to fit on a performance car than these. Many people overlook the importance of good tires. Do not compromise your life by driving summer tires in the winter. Get a pair of PA4's and feel safe and secure.

Are Front-Wheel Drive and All-Season Tires Enough for Winter Driving?(02:33)
Drivers living in the northern U.S. have already discovered a set of dedicated winter/snow tires increases their vehicles' wintertime capabilities enough to reduce their driving times, tension and stress. However, if you're among the skeptics who still question if the added traction is worth the expense, watch this video.
