The Pilot Sport 4 SUV is Michelin's Street/Sport Truck Summer tire developed for the drivers of powerful and performance-focused crossovers and SUVs. The Pilot Sport 4 SUV is optimized for enhanced comfort and low noise and designed to deliver outstanding grip in warm, wet and dry conditions. Like all Street/Sport Truck Summer tires, it is not intended to be serviced, stored, nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
A summer-focused tread compound utilizes functional elastomers and thin silica for improved traction in wet and dry conditions and is molded into a performance-oriented, asymmetric pattern. High pattern stiffness and a rigid design help provide strong lateral grip in the dry, and the optimized notches enhance dry braking performance. The inboard side of the tread features a wider circumferential groove and greater pitch count for enhanced wet traction, while the deep, straight channels help evacuate water from the contact patch to improve hydroplaning resistance.
The internal construction of the Pilot Sport 4 SUV consists of a high-density, polyester casing that provides a robust and durable structure and supports two wide, steel belts. An aramid and nylon hybrid reinforcement ply enhances driving precision and high-speed capability.
Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.
Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Street/Sport Truck Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage. Tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

Excellent grip dry and in the wet. Hard acceleration on quite wet roads at medium to high speed produces no apparent wheelspin and no activation of traction control. Predictable traction in the wet. The side wall is slightly soft which sacrifices some steering feel.

...Went from spinning at 40 in the dry with Pirelli P Zero Nero's to hooking at 30 in heavy rain in these tires...
These tires are absolutely spectacular. I had my car making around 410 hp and 430 tq, and it just hooks up. They could break away, but you need to work to make it happen. Get rolling, turn the wheel, and floor it, and the car just hooks and goes. Tight turn at 50 in 3rd, floor it, car just hooks. Went from spinning at 40 in the dry with Pirelli P Zero Nero's to hooking at 30 in heavy rain in these tires. Awesome lateral traction and braking as well. The tires feel like they are loading up as you approach the limit, and you can feel the limit as well. Smooth and predictable breakaway. I drove these tires hard, with a few WOT from under 40 each day, and the rears lasted 18k without rotating. Fronts have plenty of tread left. I drive 80 miles a day and maybe 75 of those are highway on weekdays and 10 on weekends, and these tires held up great. These tires were great on a daily driver performance car, but would also be great for a performance SUV or someone who wants the best daily driver tires on the market. There is not as much steering feel as you would get out of a Cup 2 or similar, but it is good enough for a car without much steering feel to begin with as I wouldn't notice it as much.
If you are going to drive your car only on the street, and you will drive it in the rain, these are the best tires for the job. They are definitely expensive, but if you can afford it, pull the trigger as these are as good as it gets. They are nearly as good as the 4s and the cup 2 on the road, but they would not hold up like the others on the track.
I only put 18,000 miles because I just got the rears to bald, but the fronts still have 6/32.

...Unbelievable traction in the wet or dry. Went from spinning at 40 in the dry in my old tires to hooking at 30 in the pouring rain with these. Awesome hydroplaning resistance, but the rain grip was primarily going and stopping and the lateral grip was only great...
Spectacular tire. Probably the best daily driver summer tire for a performance car. When new, they would glide over the highway with very little sound. Absorbed plenty of minor bumps. The steering feel was less than optimal, but it was fine. You could feel enough through the car otherwise. When loading up in a corner, they had an amazing feel to them. Whereas my stock P Zero Nero's (AS) felt like you were slowly approaching the limit of traction, these tires felt like you were loading them up and they were getting more and more into it. You could really feel right where the limit of traction was on these tires, even if that limit is halfway to the moon. Unbelievable traction in the wet or dry. Went from spinning at 40 in the dry in my old tires to hooking at 30 in the pouring rain with these. Awesome hydroplaning resistance, but the rain grip was primarily going and stopping and the lateral grip was only great. After 20k the rear tires were down to 1/32, but the fronts were still at 7. When the rears were bald, they had nearly as much traction as new, but they were noticeably louder and tramlined on the highway sometimes. They had perfectly fine traction at 40 F, but had zero feel. When warm, you can predictably feel the limit of traction. In the cold, you had all you needed for mildly spirited driving but no more.
I highly recommend these tires for someone who drives their car every day on the highway and enjoys some spirited back roads as well.

...They are a very responsive tire with very little sidewall flex. They have good dry traction, they never spin from a stand still but even the cars lowly 150 ft lbs will break the tires loose in a corner...
These came on my Toyota 86 from the factory. I usually never by Michelin tires, I think they are way too expensive for what you get but I bought another set because I didn't want to change my cars driving characteristics. They are a very responsive tire with very little sidewall flex. They have good dry traction, they never spin from a stand still but even the cars lowly 150 ft lbs will break the tires loose in a corner. Wet traction is good as long as you don't accelerate in corners otherwise you'll find yourself in a ditch real fast lol under 40 degrees and these tires are useless, dangerous even, so keep that in mind. Never taken it to a track just spirited back road driving and they are wore out at 10k but with all that being said they are very predictable tires if you know their limits.

These 235/45ZR17 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires made my V6 Accord handle like my Porsche Boxster. I replaced the factory 215/55 R 17 factory Michelin tires with these 235/45zr 17 PS4 and it totally changed the handling of my V6 Accord...
These 235/45ZR17 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires made my V6 Accord handle like my Porsche Boxster . I replaced the factory 215/55 R 17 factory Michelin tires with these 235/45zr 17 PS4 and it totally changed the handling of my V6 Accord . I have owned 4 late model Porsche and was looking for a way to increase the handling of my Accord . The Accord handles well anyway for a front wheel drive car . I have owned this 2017 since new ( 3.5 years , 45,000 miles ) and it replaced our 2007 Mercedes E350 4 matic car. I ordered that Benz new and it had the 245/40R18 Michelins which made it handle well . I thought I would try the lower profile Pilot Sport 4 tires to move it closer to the handling of the Benz. It worked great . No downside to the switch . The PS4 tires are not discerningly noisier than the factory Michelin Primacy MXV4 that were on the Accord V6. By going to the slightly smaller diameter 235/45ZR17 for 817 revolutions per mile I helped my gearing over the stock 215/55R17 at 791 revs per mile . Just a little bit better hole shot 3.2% improvement and way better handling in the corners . I live in Central Oregon where there are no interstate highways . Only US Highway 20 , 26 , 97 which are 2 lane highways . The additional cornering in the mountain passes are a real bonus plus a little 3.2% boost in the passing zones when facing oncoming traffic. Thumbs Up to Michelin . These tires are great !

This low profile tire provides a taunt ride; you definitely feel the bumps but you feel firmly connected to the road. The tire seems prone to punctures . This tire is a replacement for same exact original tire that was on the car when I bought it new on 2-14-22 . On 6-30-22 at 2696 miles a 1/2 inch hex head screw punctured the outer edge of the crown. Since I had purchased the dealers tire protection I took it to them. They plugged and patched the hole. I thought they should have replaced the tire. I did some research and found that both the USTMA and the TIA say to never repair a hole greater than 1/4 inch. The thread width on a 1/2 inch head screw is 3/8 " which is greater than 1/4 ". Not receiving any satisfaction from them I replaced the tire with this one because I am planning some long distance, high speed driving soon. I also did this because on 2-22-23 the other rear tire got a small screw puncture in the sidewall and the dealer replaced the tire with a new one. Thus, I had a patched tire with 5270 miles on the left rear and a 0 mileage tire on the right rear. Heeding the maxim to replace tires in pairs and wanting peace of mind I bought this tire, Since the life of these tires is 20,000 , the 1/4 tread wear difference may affect the performance more than if the life was 60,000 miles; plus the date of manufacture on this tire is 1 year and I month newer than the patched tire and is within a couple of weeks of the date of manufacture of the new right rear tire. Hopefully, I won't get any more flats. Buying the tire from Tire Rack, picking it up locally, and having a Tire Rack mobile installer mount it saved me a lot of money and was more convenient. Probably my new way of buying tires.

...They are a sportive Tyre with great cornering stability, low road noise and a better than average thread wear...
Bought as a substitute to the factory fitted Continental SportContact 5 that was already a great tire, specially on wet conditions, those PS4 were a little bit better all round being the Continentals rate 9 and the Michelin rate 10. They are a sportive Tyre with great cornering stability, low road noise and a little better than average thread wear. The only slight diference worst than the Continentals is the wet traction from 10 (continentals) to 9 (Michelin), both really to of the line comparing to what's available on the market.

...Much better road-holding performance, quieter, and as long or better treadlife than the rest. While they are a bit more expensive, all of the above reasons make them worth the extra to me.
My fourth set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires, after running Pirelli P-Zero and Continental tires. Can't imagine going back. Much better road-holding performance, quieter, and as long or better treadlife than the rest. While they are a bit more expensive, all of the above reasons make them worth the extra to me.
