The Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (Plus) ZP (Zero Pressure) is an Ultra High Performance All-Season run-flat tire member of Michelin's Pilot family of low profile, high-speed tires developed for the drivers of high-end sports cars, sporty coupes and sedans looking for total performance combined with temporary continued mobility after a puncture has allowed a complete loss of air pressure. The Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP tire is designed to provide Michelin's highest level of ultra-high all-season performance, emphasizing dry road handling and wet road grip with balanced all-season traction for occasional light snow.
Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP tires feature Michelin's Helio+ Technology, which utilizes sunflower oil and Extreme Silica Technology in the tread compound to increase traction at low temperatures and on wet roads. Molded into an aggressive asymmetric tread pattern inspired by the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, its 4-, 5- or 6-rib designs* are tuned to complement tire width and feature more rubber and rigid blocks on their outboard shoulders to provide high levels of lateral grip that offer as much dry cornering capability as some competitors' summer performance tires. Wide circumferential grooves help resist hydroplaning, enhance wet traction and help generate some of the shortest wet braking distances in the Ultra High Performance All-Season category.
Variable Contact Patch 3.0 technology derived from Michelin's experience in endurance racing focuses on evenly spreading contact patch pressures and temperatures. The tire's internal structure includes two high-tensile, lightweight steel cord belts reinforced with spirally wrapped polyamide cord to combine predictable handling and high-speed durability with treadwear and ride comfort, and the reinforced sidewall inserts are designed to temporarily support the weight of the vehicle, even after a loss of air pressure.
*Tread design rib counts are identified on the tire's Specs tab.

Amazed by the traction these tires have in the wet I came off a pair of Bridgestone Potenzas and I was expecting to give up More performance but these tires were only slightly worse in the dry but the most amazing part is they have almost the same amount of traction in the wet that they do in the dry. I have used these tires in the snow and anything over 2 inches and they become useless in a rwd set up.

This is my second set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires since I was delighted with the first set. Mileage was great (40 K ) and traction in all weather conditions was superior. I especially like the wet-weather traction that they provide. While they are more expensive than some other brands, they provide longer wear and superior traction than other brands that I've tried so they are worth the extra expense.

...After getting these installed it was in the rain and I expected to have some slippage on a brand new set of tires but NOPE! Even brand new tires in the rain they didn't slip at ALL!
I have a set of snow tires so I can't speak for the winter performance. For my summer tires I bought new wheels and went with 245/40-18 (vs the stock 215/45-17). I went with this larger size because I couldn't get the traction I wanted. The first set of tires I got were the BFGOODRICH G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S. These improved the traction some but it still seemed too easy to spin the tires (especially when accelerating and turning from a stop). This time I decided to go with the best rated all season I could find, MICHELIN PILOT SPORT A/S 3+. I wanted all season rather that summer because I live in Ohio and the weather can fluctuate 40 degrees from one day to the next. After getting these installed it was raining and I expected to have some slippage on a brand new set of tires but NOPE! Even brand new tires in the rain they didn't slip at ALL! I knew I was buying excellent tires but WOW! Absolutely amazing. The handling / corning / traction is miles apart from any tire I've ever used. If you want a tire that is the BEST performance possible look no further. I'll never use a different tire again (unless Michelin brings out an even better model). Again I have to say AMAZING!!!

Most customers rate winter traction highly with scores 7-10, praising confident snow and ice grip. While a few lower scores note occasional challenges in extreme conditions, the majority highlight reliable all-season performance, with many 9s and 10s for deep snow capability.

...I was very pleased with handled in that first snow (2 - 3" accumulation)... I was driving at safe speeds and felt very secure in my lane position with no jerky motions...
Just to be clear, we have been in lock down for the last 8 months due to Covid-19. So while I have had the tires a year, they are but "lightly" used since I have been working from home. However, I still wanted to provide a review of these tires on a 2017 Subaru WRX limited, manual since when I was shopping for these, there was not a lot out there to help me decide. I bought my car with the OEM Dunlop Sport Maxx RT in place, and they were the absolute worst tires I have ever driven. They were super loud (15,000 miles wear) and provided a very substandard ride quality for my commute. To be fair, this may or may not have been exaggerated by the Subaru sport tuned suspension. And if we can ignore rain and snow, the tires had some flexing issues and were prone to break away if pushed a little. They had to go and I was very unsure on what to purchase next... I am very pleased to report that the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ are a vast improvement over the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT, even on dry ground. I have been driving performance oriented vehicles most of my adult life and would never have believed these to be all season tires. They have that sharp responsive feel of a high quality performance tire breaking into and accelerating out of turns. They are much quieter (through the first 8,000 miles anyway) and have tamed the previously harsh road feel that the Dunlop SportMaxx provided. it is like night and day in all respects. And when it comes to "all weather" driving, I was very pleased with the way the car handled in that first snow (2 - 3" accumulation). I hate to compare it to the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT in the snow, but that is all I have to measure against with this car - the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ were infinitely better. I was driving at safe speeds and felt very secure in my lane position with no jerky motions. The same goes for rain. I would buy these or their replacement tires again. Much improved on dry ground and the elements!

...I'm most impressed with the light snow and ice performance. What an improvement over the previous version of this tire!!...
The tire has performed very well so far. I'm most impressed with the light snow and ice performance. What an improvement over the previous version of this tire!! It handles and grips like a borderline summer only tire. The ride quality is a bit harsh when compared to the best in this class, but you always give something to get something in tires like this. I'm running a couple PSI lower than recommended to mitigate this. If you're looking for an ultra high performance all season tire that leans more toward the performance side than the comfort side this would be great choice. If you're willing to give up a bit of the ride quality for truly great 3 season performance and more than adequate winter capabilities then look no further than this tire.

...Dry conditions and handling is exceptional...
Purchased these Pilot Sport A/S 3+ to replace Continentals. Performed very well in all weathers here in Wisconsin. For an all season tire, they did wonderfull in the snow, especially with the help of Audi's quattro. Wet performance is very confident. Dry conditions and handling is exceptional. With every set of Michelin tire I have owned so far, noise level is near non-existent from tires. Drove roughly 45k miles and still have plenty of tread left. Would definitely recommend these for an all around tire.

After going thru a set of s1 noble 2 i decided to try these out , my first impressions were wow these things are sticky ! Dry or wet i couldnt push them to a feeling of being unsafe they just hooked up . At times they often felt stickier in the damp/wet conditions ! Never had an issue with wet traction , & unfortunately never got to put them to use in the snow . I can say confidently these are the only tires ive had that would hook 2nd gear every time , even in the rain ! if your looking for an all around performer i honestly do not think anything beats this tire for the price to performance ratio .

...They stick like glue in the dry and the wet. I drive through six roundabouts on the way to work and it's like being on a go kart track- these tires have an amazing level of grip...
Thus far to say I'm pleased is an understatement- the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ (195/45R16 84V XL) is the best all season tire I've ever driven. They replaced the all season OEM Continental ContiProContacts on my 2013 FIAT 500 Sport and have transformed the car. Vs the OEM tires the transient steering response is much better, the tramlining I dealt with on a certain section of my daily drive has all but disappeared and they stick like glue in the dry and the wet. I drive through six roundabouts on the way to work and it's like being on a go kart track- these tires have an amazing level of grip. And for whatever reason (stiffer sidewalls I think) the car rides better as well. They make the car a LOT more fun to drive.
The real surprise for me was the winter performance. No all season tire that I'm aware of is a match for a dedicated winter tire in the snow but the Michelins are much better than I expected- they outperformed the OEM tires by a significant margin, especially in heavy, wet snow. I blasted through a 40' long, 8" to 12" deep snow drift in the last storm, a drift on my dead end road that's there almost every storm and one that's gotten me stuck several times with the OEM tires.
It's way too soon to tell yet but the one area I think the Michelins will fall short is tread life. The Continentals were just shy of 60,000 miles when I pulled them and that was in spite of some occasional "sporting" driving. I don't think the Michelins will make that, in part because the tires encourage much more of that "sporting" driving ... they're that good.

...As for other aspects of the tire, the ride comfort is very nice... and they are very comfortable.
I'm guessing I have a better perception of the limits of the snow traction of these tires than most as I drove them through this relatively mild winter we have had here in Indiana this year.
Long story short, the winter traction of these tires exceeded my expectations.
Not sure I would want to do this again without winter tires for the car, I got lucky that we didn't have very many bad snow days.
On those days traction was within the realm of 'safe' as long as I drove very slow.
As for other aspects of the tire, the ride comfort is very nice, performance in the dry/wet excellent, very close to my Conti Sport 3 OE tires, maybe 10-15% less at the limit in the dry.
They seem to be wearing normally, not many miles on the car so hard to gauge that at this point, and they are very comfortable.

...It is responsive and predictable under all weather and road conditions, comfortable and reasonably quiet, and appears to be wearing well - I expect to get 35 - 40,000 miles based on wear to date - or lack of it...
I'll start with the bottom line: I have owned SUV's since the '90's, with several brands of tires. This tire is the best of any I have owned. It is responsive and predictable under all weather and road conditions, comfortable and reasonably quiet, and appears to be wearing well - I expect to get 35 - 40,000 miles based on wear to date - or lack of it. The only thing I would improve would be to make it a bit more aggressive response to initial steering input. This is not saying it is a slouch or squishy; It is very smooth in response to inputs, precise and quick with just a VERY slight initial soft feeling for the blink of an eye. While being extremely happy with the tires on both wet and dry roads, I was very pleased with two particular aspects. As I live in the Sierra Nevada, I spend time on Forest Service dirt roads and on snow and ice. Both dirt grip and ride comfort on dirt roads and trails is surprising good for street tires. An even bigger surprise came when we had snow, then a hard freeze and light snow over that. We got home drama free, driving up our somewhat steep street right past several of our neighbors who couldn't get up the hill in, amon.g other vehicles, Subaru's and Jeep's. OK, the M-B 4Matic system is great but still, I think the tires were the biggest factor in our getting home while others did not. Bottom line, same as the opening: These tires exceed what I have experienced with any other SUV tires. They are so good, I just ordered a set for our family sport sedan as well
