The Pilot Sport A/S 3+ are Ultra High Performance All-Season tires, members of Michelin's Pilot family of low profile, high-speed tires developed for the drivers of high-end sports cars, sporty coupes and sedans looking for total performance. The Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tire is designed to provide Michelin's highest level of ultra-high all-season performance, emphasizing dry road handling and wet road grip with balanced all-season traction for occasional light snow.

Compared to the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 it replaces, the new Pilot Sport A/S 3+ shares the same performance-oriented tread pattern, featuring a new, advanced Helio+ tread compound for increased light-snow traction.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires feature Michelin's Helio+ Technology, which utilizes sunflower oil and Extreme Silica Technology in the tread compound to increase traction at low temperatures and on wet roads. Molded into an aggressive asymmetric tread pattern inspired by the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, its 4-, 5- or 6-rib designs* are tuned to complement tire width and feature more rubber and rigid blocks on their outboard shoulders to provide high levels of lateral grip that offer as much dry cornering capability as some competitors' summer performance tires. Wide circumferential grooves help resist hydroplaning, enhancing wet traction and grip in standing water.

Variable Contact Patch 3.0 technology derived from Michelin's experience in endurance racing focuses on evenly spreading contact patch pressures and temperatures. The tire's internal structure includes two high-tensile, lightweight steel cord belts reinforced with spirally wrapped polyamide cord to combine predictable handling and high-speed durability with treadwear and ride comfort.

*Tread design rib counts are identified on the tire's Specs tab.

After going thru a set of s1 noble 2 i decided to try these out , my first impressions were wow these things are sticky ! Dry or wet i couldnt push them to a feeling of being unsafe they just hooked up . At times they often felt stickier in the damp/wet conditions ! Never had an issue with wet traction , & unfortunately never got to put them to use in the snow . I can say confidently these are the only tires ive had that would hook 2nd gear every time , even in the rain ! if your looking for an all around performer i honestly do not think anything beats this tire for the price to performance ratio .

...Heavy rain no problem...

Replaced a set of Bridgestone driveguard RFTs the dealer threw on my car to replace the OEMs. Wow, what a huge difference going from a run of the mill grand touring tire to a UHP tire like this. The car feels like it accelerates faster, insane grip around the corners. Heavy rain no problem. Did a run up a mountain where it got it got as cold as 14 at the top - tires had no issues with grip around the corners. A few streets around here have been sheets of ice, tires did well for an a/s, traction control barely had to kick in. Light snow wasn't much of an issue. Very smooth and quiet specially compared to the old RFTs. Very happy with this purchase so far.

Awesome tires for the price. I purchased new 20" wheels for my Mustang GT. Tire Rack was very fast to get them to me at a good price and free shipping. Tires grip very well on wet or dry roads and they are very quiet. I was very surprised in how these ride since I went to a lower profile tire.

Purchased these Pilot Sport A/S 3+ to replace Continentals. Performed very well in all weathers here in Wisconsin. For an all season tire, they did wonderfull in the snow, especially with the help of Audi's quattro. Wet performance is very confident. Dry conditions and handling is exceptional. With every set of Michelin tire I have owned so far, noise level is near non-existent from tires. Drove roughly 45k miles and still have plenty of tread left. Would definitely recommend these for an all around tire.

...This is my third winter with these tires and I trust them with my life. They've gotten me out of bad situations where other drivers have gotten stuck. My first winter with these tires we had in a blizzard where it snowed 8-12 inches in one day, people were getting stuck in the parking lot at work trying to get out, but with a fresh set of these I was able to maneuver out of the parking lot, drive all the way home, before finally getting stuck in my driveway where it had snowed 8 inches...

These are much, much better than the factory OEM Firestone Firehawk GTs that came with my car, absolute garbage overpriced tires that were making me slide across intersections during braking on snowy days. One day on the highway I hit a patch of ice and my car spun 180 degrees, after that I told myself that's it, I need to get better tires before they kill me.

I live in the upper midwest where it snows 6 months of the year, so owning a set of high performance tires that drive well in the snow is a top priority. This is my third winter with these tires and I trust them with my life. They've gotten me out of bad situations before where other drivers have gotten stuck.

My first winter with these tires we had a blizzard where it snowed 8-12 inches in one day, people were getting stuck in the parking lot at work trying to get out, but with a fresh set of these I was able to maneuver out of the parking lot, drive all the way home, before finally getting stuck in my driveway where it had snowed 8 inches. My car has never lost control with these tires, I've hit many patches of ice and never spun out, my car always drives straight and true. Starting and stopping in light snow is excellent, sometimes I'm so confident I hit the gas too hard and make the tires spin, but I never lose control.

As far as dry/wet traction, I feel absolutely confident on rainy days and even more so on normal days. The tires are quiet and comfortable, I've put on just over 32k miles on them and they still have another 16k to go before I buy my next set before the next winter.

Hands down the best tire I've owned so far. It handles the dry and wet very-very well, not so much in a deep snow or ice though. I've been rotating them every 5-7k and they still have plenty of tread life left. I haven't noticed any noise discomfort or anything else for that matter. It is a predictable and comfortable yet sporty tire that is definitely worth its price! Would buy it again.

...very noticeable ride improvement. They are much quieter and more compliant.

I'm a discerning new 3+ owner and they exceeded my expectation. I recently bought a 43000mi. certified M3 with brand new mpss's and ride noise and harshness issues. Not certain if it was the car or how much different the 3+'s could be, I waffled about buying another set of tires but got a good deal on the 3+'s so pulled the trigger.

Immediately very noticeable ride improvement. They are much quieter and more compliant. Two thumbs up here.

...Whether it's wet or dry, the ride quality is superior to anything I've ever driven. It absorbs bumps and is so smooth that you forget completely that the wheels are as large as they are...

It's early, but I still had to talk about these incredible tires. Michelin is just a notch above its competitors. The M Sport package really makes the tire a focal point of the driving experience (tuned suspension/larger, staggered fit wheels). If the tire has a weak point, it will show up. The A/S 3+ is brilliant because of the confidence it gives you no matter the conditions. In the dry, you can lean on it when cornering and know that as soon as you hit the throttle, the rear tires are going to grip every time and let you use all 450+ hp coming out of the turn. On a previous vehicle I also had 19 inch staggered fit wheels, but with a much cheaper/lower quality summer tire. I had to be so careful in the rain, and you felt every bump go up your back. The A/S 3+ channels moisture to the point that unless it's pouring down, you can drive the car without any reservations. I'm able to go 70-80 mph on the interstate and easily change lanes. Whether it's wet or dry, the ride quality is superior to anything I've ever driven. It absorbs bumps and is so smooth that you forget completely that the wheels are as large as they are. If you have a high performance car, you NEED this tire. It's strong all year round, it wears better than rival brands, and it rides so much better than a higher priced, run-flat tire. I will never buy another brand of tire, Michelin FTW!

To date, I think these Michelins are a very comfortable high-performance tire with excellent wet-weather traction. I I don't have enough miles or weather on them to evaluate longevity or snow performance, but I have driven them in dry and wet highway conditions, and they are very smooth-riding, have great wet and dry traction, and impart confidence in their handling. They corner extremely well, wet or dry. They are a little less precise in steering input than I expected, but they have a lot more tread than the tires they replaced,a set of Continental Pro Contact all-seasons, and the summer-only performance tires on my Porsche. The Contis were old, worn-out, and noisy, so there is no real comparison there, but my impression is that the Michelins are superior. My E350 is the sport version, but I must admit that when writing this review I realized my driving has gone from "spirited" to "average", especially in this vehicle. That said, I do have some experience driving competition vehicles with slicks, and Minnesota gives you a good opportunity to practice your car-handling skills, so this review is not entirely uninformed.

...It's way too soon to tell yet but the one area I think the Michelins will fall short is tread life. The Continentals were just shy of 60,000 miles when I pulled them and that was in spite of some occasional sporting driving. I don't think the Michelins will make that, in part because the tires encourage much more of that sporting driving ... they're that good.

Thus far to say I'm pleased is an understatement- the Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3+ (195/45R16 84V XL) is the best all season tire I've ever driven. They replaced the all season OEM Continental ContiProContacts on my 2013 FIAT 500 Sport and have transformed the car. Vs the OEM tires the transient steering response is much better, the tramlining I dealt with on a certain section of my daily drive has all but disappeared and they stick like glue in the dry and the wet. I drive through six roundabouts on the way to work and it's like being on a go kart track- these tires have an amazing level of grip. And for whatever reason (stiffer sidewalls I think) the car rides better as well. They make the car a LOT more fun to drive.

The real surprise for me was the winter performance. No all season tire that I'm aware of is a match for a dedicated winter tire in the snow but the Michelins are much better than I expected- they outperformed the OEM tires by a significant margin, especially in heavy, wet snow. I blasted through a 40' long, 8" to 12" deep snow drift in the last storm, a drift on my dead end road that's there almost every storm and one that's gotten me stuck several times with the OEM tires.

It's way too soon to tell yet but the one area I think the Michelins will fall short is tread life. The Continentals were just shy of 60,000 miles when I pulled them and that was in spite of some occasional "sporting" driving. I don't think the Michelins will make that, in part because the tires encourage much more of that "sporting" driving ... they're that good.

...So far treadwear is slow, predictable, and even...

I live in an area with four seasons that gets temps ranging from about 20 to 100 F. During the winter, it gets cold enough (even without snow) to where a summer tire will become so hard that using it is potentially dangerous. I have no place for two sets of wheels, and the winters are not so severe that one must run winter-only tires during the cold season, so I went for A/S 3+. In the context of an UHP all-season (AS) tire, this is the best I have ever used (and, given the price, it should be.) Compared to my previous use of the DWS/DWS 06 (great tire), I feel the A/S 3+ has made substantial performance improvements across the board (with the exception of snow performance.)

Both dry and wet traction are outstanding, cornering stability is excellent, and feedback is better than most other AS tires I've used (although still inferior to a good summer tire.) Of special note is that even in dry, cold 30-ish F weather and cold-wet right above freezing, the A/S 3+ still maintains outstanding performance capable of harder cornering, braking, and maneuvering. Road noise is very low and ride comfort is very good for a tire in this class. So far treadwear is slow, predictable, and even.

In several inches of snow on my RWD BRZ, these do a very good job if you drive sensibly (however, snow performance is inferior to the DWS 06.) In deeper snow, performance is mediocre (UHP AS' are not made for such a purpose.)

Obviously, like every all-season performance tire, there is a compromise. Compared to a solid summer-only tire, these wont provide the same level of responsiveness/feedback/cornering stability/etc. However, the degree of compromise that you make with the A/S 3+ is far less than the degree of compromise with other UHP A/S tires. If you live in an area that get enough winter weather to where a summer tire alone is insufficient, but not severe enough winters to where a winter-only tire is a necessity, and you are OK with the pricing, the A/S 3+ is a solid pick.
