The Pilot Sport Cup T is Michelin's Racetrack and Autocross Only tire developed for the drivers of touring vehicles competing in both sprint and endurance races. They're built to deliver stable dry handling, repeatable lap performance, high traction levels, and the durability required for competitive finishes.
The Pilot Sport Cup T uses a high-grip compound designed to quickly come up to ideal operating temperature. Michelin's Track Longevity 2.0 technology boosts durability over extended runs, while reinforced shoulders resist wear from hard, high-speed cornering. Michelin's Dynamic Response technology features a hybrid aramid/nylon reinforcement layer for enhanced steering. Built-in tread wear indicators on the tread face let drivers monitor remaining tread depth at a glance.
Pilot Sport Cup T tires are available in both M1 and H1 compounds to make the most of ambient temperatures, conditions, and racing locales.
If you use a heater cabinet or tire warmers: the maximum heating temperature must not exceed the internal rolling temperature of the tires.
Above this temperature, the properties of the rubber can change and thus degrade performance.
The minimum warm-up time is 45 minutes to reach stabilization. The maximum heating time is 2 hours (beyond this, there is a risk of the rubber changing).
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup T tires do not meet DOT requirements, and are not appropriate for roadway use. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup T tires are not intended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. Like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, Pilot Sport Cup T tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It's essential these tires be stored indoors according to Michelin recommendations.
On Storage: Tires must not be subject to:
- Direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight
- Sources of extreme heat and humidity
- Solvents, lubricants, fuels and other chemicals
- Ozone emissions from equipment such as a transformer, welder, electric motor, etc.
- Long-term storage in a stack.
Note on Tire Aging: Michelin recommends using Michelin Competition tires within a maximum of 24 months following their date of purchase (within 4 months in the event of storage in severe tropical- type conditions) or within 12 months for wet tires.
