The Pilot Sport GT M+ is Michelin's Racetrack and Autocross Only tire engineered for vehicles requiring a long-lasting slick solution for endurance racing. It's developed to prioritize sustained dry handling, consistent lap repetition, dependable grip, and compound resilience throughout extended race events and endurance competition.
Constructed from a racing compound designed for maximum grip, the Pilot Sport GT M+ maintains reliable traction during prolonged race sessions. Drawing from World Endurance Championship tire design, it features an expanded contact patch to support grip under continuous load. Michelin's Track Longevity 2.0 technology enhances compound stability when exposed to elevated temperatures and mechanical stress over time, while reinforced shoulders help control wear from sustained lateral force. The hybrid aramid-and-nylon reinforcement improves steering consistency by supporting even pressure distribution. Integrated tread wear indicators provide fast, visual tracking of tread life, allowing teams to plan out their driving intervals and monitor tread depletion with precision.
Available in S8 and S9 compounds to support a multitude of race events in different locales or ambient conditions.
If you use a heater cabinet or tire warmers: the maximum heating temperature must not exceed the internal rolling temperature of the tires.
Above this temperature, the properties of the rubber can change and thus degrade performance.
The minimum warm-up time is 45 minutes to reach stabilization. The maximum heating time is 2 hours (beyond this, there is a risk of the rubber changing).
Michelin Pilot Sport GT M+ tires do not meet DOT requirements, and are not appropriate for roadway use. Michelin Pilot Sport GT M+ tires are not intended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. Like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, Pilot Sport GT M+ tires are not intended to be driven or serviced in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It's essential these tires be stored indoors according to Michelin recommendations.
On Storage: Tires must not be subject to:
- Direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight
- Sources of extreme heat and humidity
- Solvents, lubricants, fuels and other chemicals
- Ozone emissions from equipment such as a transformer, welder, electric motor, etc.
- Long-term storage in a stack.
Note on Tire Aging: Michelin recommends using Michelin Competition tires within a maximum of 24 months following their date of purchase (within 4 months in the event of storage in severe tropical- type conditions) or within 12 months for wet tires.
