Does this tire fit your vehicle?

Tires are designed specifically for different vehicles and wheel sizes. Tell us about your vehicle or the specific size you want so we can help find the right tires for you.

The Pilot Sport GT M is Michelin's Racetrack and Autocross Only tire developed for a wide variety of vehicles looking for maximum performance to match their race-ready vehicles. They're built to deliver stable dry handling, repeatable lap performance, high grip levels, and the durability required for prolonged race events.

The Pilot Sport GT M is constructed with a high-friction racing compound engineered to optimize traction through prolonged racing sessions. Michelin's Track Longevity 2.0 helps preserve compound integrity under heat and sustained mechanical load during extended sessions, while reinforced shoulder architecture minimizes wear during aggressive cornering. Dynamic Response technology integrates aramid and nylon materials in a hybrid reinforcement layer to enhance steering precision by optimizing force distribution across the contact patch. Integrated tread wear indicators on the tire surface allow for rapid visual assessment of remaining treadlife.

Available in S7, S8 and S9 compounds to support a multitude of race events in different locales or ambient conditions.

If you use a heater cabinet or tire warmers: the maximum heating temperature must not exceed the internal rolling temperature of the tires.

Above this temperature, the properties of the rubber can change and thus degrade performance.

The minimum warm-up time is 45 minutes to reach stabilization. The maximum heating time is 2 hours (beyond this, there is a risk of the rubber changing).

Michelin Pilot Sport GT M tires do not meet DOT requirements, and are not appropriate for roadway use. Michelin Pilot Sport GT M tires are not intended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. Like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, Pilot Sport GT M tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It's essential these tires be stored indoors according to Michelin recommendations.

On Storage: Tires must not be subject to:

  • Direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight
  • Sources of extreme heat and humidity
  • Solvents, lubricants, fuels and other chemicals
  • Ozone emissions from equipment such as a transformer, welder, electric motor, etc.
  • Long-term storage in a stack.

Note on Tire Aging: Michelin recommends using Michelin Competition tires within a maximum of 24 months following their date of purchase (within 4 months in the event of storage in severe tropical- type conditions) or within 12 months for wet tires.

Michelin Pilot Sport GT M vs Hoosier R7 – 2025 Test 4B (5:08)

Test 4B of the 2025 Tire Rack Testing Program is a first of its kind. We took a top-performing DOT Radial (commonly called R-Comp), the Hoosier R7, and compared it to a Circuit Race tire, a true “slick”, the Pilot Sport GT M. This particular GT M was outfitted in the S8 compound, as it comes in 3 different options. How much faster is a true racing slick? Watch to find out!
