The Pilot Sport R GT is Michelin's Racetrack and Autocross Only tire, engineered specifically for rally-style vehicles that demand a versatile, high-performance solution for asphalt special stage competition. It's designed to deliver consistent dry handling, repeatable lap times, dependable grip, and long-lasting compound performance throughout endurance events and extended race sessions.

Built with a rally-derived compound optimized for maximum grip, the Pilot Sport R GT maintains reliable traction under prolonged use. Its asymmetric tread pattern enhances adaptability, featuring broad outer shoulders with increased rubber contact for dry-road grip, and strategically placed inner channels for efficient water evacuation when conditions shift. Integrated tread wear indicators provide fast, visual tracking of tread life, allowing teams to plan and monitor accordingly.

Available in 11, 21, 32 and P01 (Rain) compounds to support a multitude of race events in different locales or ambient conditions.

If you use a heater cabinet or tire warmers: the maximum heating temperature must not exceed the internal rolling temperature of the tires. Above this temperature, the properties of the rubber can change and thus degrade performance. The minimum warm-up time is 45 minutes to reach stabilization. The maximum heating time is 2 hours (beyond this, there is a risk of the rubber changing).

Michelin Pilot Sport R GT tires do not meet DOT requirements, and are not appropriate for roadway use. Like all Racetrack & Autocross Only tires, Pilot Sport R GT tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. It's essential these tires be stored indoors according to Michelin recommendations.

On Storage: Tires must not be subject to:

  • Direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight
  • Sources of extreme heat and humidity
  • Solvents, lubricants, fuels and other chemicals
  • Ozone emissions from equipment such as a transformer, welder, electric motor, etc.
  • Long-term storage in a stack.

Non-compliance with these storage recommendations may significantly reduce the period over which the tire retains its performance. The storage location must be dry, ventilated, out of direct light and kept solely for tires. Racks allowing tires to be stored vertically are to be used in order to avoid tension on the casings.

Note on Tire Aging: Michelin recommends using Michelin Competition tires within a maximum of 24 months following their date of purchase (within 4 months in the event of storage in severe tropical- type conditions) or within 12 months for wet tires.
