Does this tire fit your vehicle?

Tires are designed specifically for different vehicles and wheel sizes. Tell us about your vehicle or the specific size you want so we can help find the right tires for you.

The D.O.T. Drag Radial 2 is Hoosier's redesigned Drag Racing Radial tire developed for drag racers that compete in sanctioned events at local strips. D.O.T. Drag Radials feature Hoosier's race-proven technology and compounds, making them ideal for competition classes that require street-legal tires.

WARNING: D.O.T. labeled Hoosier Racing Tires meet Department of Transportation requirements for marking and performance only and are NOT INTENDED FOR HIGHWAY USE. It is unsafe to operate any Hoosier Racing Tire, including DOT tires, on public roads. The prohibited use of Hoosier Racing Tires on public roadways may result in loss of traction, unexpected loss of vehicle control, or sudden loss of tire pressure, resulting in a vehicle crash and possible injury or death.

And like other Track & Competition DOT tires, these tires are not intended to be stored, serviced or driven in near- or below freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

D.O.T. Drag Radial 2 tires feature a special tread compound molded into a slick tread design interrupted only by five-dash circumferentially oriented grooves alternating outboard and inboard. Beginning with a molded tread depth of just 4/32", they are ready for competition after being scuffed-in. The tire features an improved tread profile to help deliver the best performance results. Its internal structure features symmetric nylon cord casing plies reinforced by two lightweight belts and spirally wrapped nylon reinforcement under the tread.

Hoosier's burnout procedure for most cars recommends rolling through the water box to wet the tires. Start the burnout. However once the tires begin to "haze", slow the burnout and proceed to the start line. The burnout's goal is to clean all debris off the tires and heat just the surface of the tread. Since most wear to the treadlife of a drag tire comes from too much time in the burnout procedure, shorten burnout time in the water box if you feel you are getting too much wear.

The D.O.T. Drag Radial 2's symmetric tread design and internal construction allows them to be installed on either side of the car. Hoosier suggests swapping tires from side-to-side on a regular basis to help smooth out and/or even treadwear. Side-to-side swapping also allows tires to run in both directions, thus causing the tire to wear differently, which helps clean up the tread. The tread surface should have a fine grain or velvet look.

The useful life of a tire, whether mounted or dismounted, is directly affected by storage conditions. Tires should always be stored indoors in a dark, cool, dry room. Remove the tires from the vehicle. Release the air pressure and lay the tires on their sides. Maintain the temperature range in the storage location between 40-90 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't store tires in sub-freezing temperatures for any length of time, as it will cause the rubber to freeze and possibly crack.

...Good wet and dry traction as well (as with anything, within limits - we are talking about a Prius here)...

As of this writing, there are about 46k miles on these tires. There is still approx. 5/32nds wear left on them, and I'm confident they will last through the fall before changing them out. Per other comments, noticed a slight drop in mpg with these. Also - given the tread wear, they aren't as great in the New England snow, so switched out to my studded snow tires this year ('11 / '12), which of course, caused weather patterns to shift and produce NO SNOW... But, they did fine in snow the first two years of ownership. Good wet and dry traction as well (as with anything, within limits - we are talking about a Prius here). All in all, I think this is a good tire for consideration...

Quiet, smooth ride, excellent wet,dry & winter conditions. Will definitely buy these tires for my 2009 Honda Accord LX when they need to be replaced. The 2009 requires 215 60 x 16 incch tires with at least least the H 94 speed rating.

...Traction is great in dry, wet and, most any snow if you use your head... These tires have performed very well in all conditions!...

I drive in the Chicago area on combined highway, city and suburban roads. Concider myself an average driver with the occasional need to have some fun. I purchased the Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires in January '08 and currently have 72,700 miles on them. I aquired the car "used" with 30,000 miles on it. It came with the Primacy MXV4 tires and I replace those at about 75,000 miles. I will get at least 80,000 miles on my current set. They have seen many pot holes and hard road bumps but they continue to perform well. I have been very happy with these tires as they are quiet (hate road noise) and provide a smoothe ride. Traction is great in dry, wet and, most any snow if you use your head. In snowy conditions slower starts and when stopping, I sometimes down shift a gear so the engine helps me slow down. These tires have performed very well in all conditions!

Tread wear is very even. I do notice a bit more wear about 1" in from the outside shoulder right at the first deep tread cut that circles the tires. I feel there is still good tread left as I am not down to the wear marks yet and my traction feels very good. Air is kept at 32psi all around. tires rotated about every 7,000 miles (give or take)as I think of it.

The reason I am even rating these tires is that I am looking for tires for my daughters 2002 Camry. Just had to see what was out there. And, after reading all these helpful reviews, decided to put my 2 cents worth in since I have high milage on my tires. I hope it helped.

I will buy these again and again.

...Last season, I never put on my winter General Arctic set because the Primacy MXV4 were as good for deep snow & ice traction and once the snow was cleared they were quite tires with low rolling resistance for better gas mileage. During several of our severe winter storms when traffic was restricted to emergency vehicles only, these tires got me to the hospital driving close to the posted speed limit (65mph) with snow accumulation of 6-8 inches and limited visibility due to the wind. I literally had the confidence to pass the snow plows...

22 years as a customer to Tirerack and I just found the best tires I've ever purchased. Between my wife and kids, we typically have 6 cars in the garage so I've gone through a few set of tires in my life. Bar none for Midwest driving, the Primacy MXV4 with the asymmetric tread pattern is the best all-season tire I've ever purchased. I would go one-step further, it's also the best snow tires I've ever purchased. Three of our vehicles have a dedicated winter set, Blizzaks, Firestone Winterforce & General Altimax Arctic. Last season, I never put on my winter General Arctic set because the Primacy MXV4 were as good for deep snow & ice traction and once the snow was cleared they were quite tires with low rolling resistance for better gas mileage. I drive 44 miles one-way to work and my confidence behind these tires is simply incredible. During several of our severe winter storms when traffic was restricted to emergency vehicles only, these tires got me to the hospital driving close to the posted speed limit (65mph) with snow accumulation of 6-8 inches and limited visibility due to the wind. I literally had the confidence to pass the snow plows. Usually, that kind of driving is reserved for my studded tires set but I'm totally sold on these MXV4s. No more buying winter sets for me. This tire is amazing! Almost 30,000 miles on them and still lots of tread-wear left. I hope they never discontinue these tires as the only improvement they can make is to prolong the tire-life.

...I have also had the opportunity to drive on these in rain, snow, & slush during two recent trips to Lake Tahoe. They are excellent in heavy rain and surpassed my expectations in light and heavy snow in mountain driving. Excellent traction and very predictable and steady during inclement weather driving scenarios...

Initial review for these tires with only 2k miles. I will provide another update on treadwear and performance down the road. My initial impression was the significant inprovement in ride comfort. LR2s come equipped with Continental CrossContact UHP street tires performance tires. Not the best ride, treadwear or wet performance. So it was immediately noticeable once riding on the MXV4s. I have also had the opportunity to drive on these in rain, snow, & slush druning two recent trips to Lake Tahoe. They are excellent in heavy rain and surpassed my expectations in light and heavy snow in mountain driving. Excellent traction and very predictable and steady during inclement weather driving scenarios. I highley recommend these tires for Land Rover LR2s owners even though they do not match the OEM speed rating guidelines. But I doubt very few people are ever driving their LR2 above 118 mph. Not sure what Land Rover was thinking.

...Quite simply, it responds to every situation a driver might ever face, even in severe winter driving.

I don't suppose anything is really perfect, but this Michelin tire is close enough to award it a 10. Quite simply, it responds to every situation a driver might ever face, even in severe winter driving. Noise is nonexistant and the comfort level at over 60,000 miles is still first class. I've never owned another tire and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one to anybody. It's that good.

Finally I made enough money to procure a set of Michelin! What a great tire compare to my OEM Yokohama. The ride is smooth and silent and you feel confident with its excellent dry traction. I have not yet drive it enough to provide more feedback, but so far, it is worth every penny spent on this expensive, but best of is kind tire.

I replaced the original factory tires with these at 30,000 miles. The original tires were worthless and wore terribly. These michelins are fantastic. My Prius handles great, rides much better, and I feel safe with these Michelins. I used the tire rack guide when deciding which tires to buy. I also used the customers reviews. Glad I did. These tires are worth the price.I am a very satisfied; just waiting for bad weather to see how they handle on ice and light snow.I am confident they will perform well.I highly recommend these tires.

This is truly an excellent tire. Very smooth, quiet, absorbs bumps very well and gives me a good mpg! My previous tire: the General Altimax HP was junk, in the sense that it produced so much noise (especially high pitch) that I could no longer bear it. I switched to this tire and noise levels have definitely gone down (although not completely eliminated as Mazda3s are known for their noisy cabins). The tire is very responsive to steering and doesn't seem to show a single sign of wear after 7000 miles :). Will update this review later.

This tire has a magical ability to ride well while providing my car with sharp, responsive handling. My car now feels much more refined. This tire is very quiet and smooth riding, yet maintains unbelievable grip on both dry and wet pavement. This all makes me wonder why Michelin bothers to build so many other slightly different types of tires with such close sounding names? The Primacy MXV4 does everything right.
