The Nomad Grappler is Nitto's On-Road All-Terrain tire developed for drivers of CUVs, SUVs, Jeeps, and pickup trucks seeking a versatile, stylish and comfortable on-road tire, also capable of light off-road duty. Engineered for traction in dry, wet, and loose surface conditions, the Nomad Grappler also provides light snow traction sufficient to earn the tire industry's severe snow service certification and three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The Nomad Grappler's all-season compound is molded into a symmetric tread pattern and a broad contact patch featuring interlocking tread blocks with tapered edges for additional bite and effective dry grip. Variable pitch tread blocks of slightly different sizes reduce road noise for enhanced on-road comfort. Two wide, staggered circumferential grooves efficiently evacuate water to lateral notches for hydroplaning resistance in wet weather. Triangular sipes within the tread blocks generate traction on wet and icy roads and assist light snow traction.
Internal Construction of the Nomad Grappler consists of a two-ply polyester casing engineered to provide comfort and reliability. Twin steel belts are wrapped with a single, nylon reinforcement ply for durability and high-speed capability.
As with all Grappler tires, each tire features two unique sidewall designs. One side resembles a mountain range, while the other is designed after a carabiner.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Great bargain for the price dry/wet traction is excellent. A bit noisy along the freeway which is expected in this type of tires. No ratings for snow/ice yet

The wet traction is much better than any other tire I've tried...
The third and best tire by far that I've had on this truck. The wet traction is much better than any other tire I've tried. And it did well in the sand at the beach. Maybe slightly noisier than some others but worth it. Still at least 50% tread left after 25,000 mi, so I expect it to outlast the previous tires also.

Excellent wet and Snow traction been into and out of several ski areas in snow already and also several rural trailheads off of dirt and gravel roads tires had plenty of traction. Turn in is much better than the OE yokohama tires that always felt like they were folding under

Winter traction is a standout strength, with most customers scoring 9s and 10s in snow and deep snow. Ice traction sees occasional 7s and 8s, but the tire delivers reliable all-terrain performance in winter conditions.

I did a lot of research before buying what I would personally consider an upgrade from the stock tires on my Forester Wilderness. I love how they look, and not long after the install, we got some snowy, sleeting, sloppy weather. My drive to work was challenging, since it involves a substantial increase in elevation on the way, and I was pleased how the Nitto Nomad Grapplers handled in the weather. Navigating the long, freezing rain/snowy road to the upper part of our complex that morning was easy, and I was very impressed. I commute this route every day, and so far, in the rain, or on dry pavement, the tires are well-mannered, quiet, and just seem to be built better than the stock tires they replaced. Often, my route to work is yet to be plowed on snowy days, and I have little doubt that in the coming months, when the weather gets really bad, I will have an easier time of getting to work and back than last winter. It's my first set of Nitto tires on any vehicle I've owned, but I'm sure it won't be the last. Thanks to Tire Rack for all the research tools you provided in helping me pick them out.

Very good ride quality and noise. These tires don’t feel like all-terrains on the road. Off-road they perform very well. Snow handling was also exceptional. Fuel economy may have dropped by 0.5-1 mpg but it’s too hard to tell as the temperature has dropped since owning them. Overall, these tires provide many advantages over stock all-seasons with essentially zero compromises. These tires are well worth it and I would definitely recommend them.

I took off my winter tires and installed these. The very next day we got snow and 2 days later ,more wet heavy snow and some ice. I was worried without my winter tires but these did great. I easily got out of my inclined drive way and my 20 mile drive to work was very good. When the pavement is just wet or dry they are also a quite riding tire. I would recommend them for a very good all season tire.

...Wet and dry traction are great...
I only drive this Jeep about 4000 miles in the summer months so a mileage assessment isn't possible. Haven't ventured off road yet but I'm sure I'll be pleased. Wet and dry traction are great. Road noise, absolutely none! For a tire this open that seems impossible, I guess the engineers got it right. I balanced the tires myself and they were among the best I've ever done for tires this size, requiring 2 oz. or less per tire. Hoping they will wear as good as they look. Definitely would recommend them!

...The driving response is excellent and smooth on highway, the ride is excellent and on dirt and gravel and rocky roads they have been superb...
These Nittos have been good tires so far. A bit more noisy than the Hankooks I replaced them with, but definitely better off road and you get some noise from combo tires; it is what it is, you can't have your cake and eat it too. One big selling point is that they are made in the USA. The driving response is excellent and smooth on highway, the ride is excellent and on dirt and gravel and rocky roads they have been superb. Great combo tire.

Excellent. Low road noise, very comfortable. Superior wet traction over stock. Right after I installed these I went on a road trip with 2k of highway, heavy rain, mud, snow and light off road /fire roads. Performed flawlessly. Will buy these again for all my SUV’s.

I can't say enough good things. I was starting to think my car just felt like crap driving. However, these tires have changed my driving experience so much, its ridiculous. I live on the moon (north east PA). I used to feel the craters adjusting my back. Now, the vehicle legitimately, feels brand new. I wish I was at all joking about this. Do I need tires this good, not really. I could prob get away with a decent set of a/s tires. Did I lose a MPG from upgrading to these, yes. They are but heavier than my old tires, if I coukd do it again. I might have put the less aggressive sidewall out, which may be the actual reason for the loss of a mpg. Is it at all a factor I would consider buying something different, heck no. Absolutely worth every penny. At first they were a little louder (by louder, I simply mean I was able to tell I had a NEW tire with deep tread, they were not at all in anyway distracting or even noticeable really) than my a/s's these replaced. After driving for a bit, they are absolutely silent. Idk, it changed my entire driving experience for the better. Going over bumps feels great. these tires eat anything on the road. I can probably hit a curb at 40 and it wouldn't do a ---- thing to the tire. These r not ur ordinary, subaru outback tire, thats for sure. If ur a truck, suv, or awd car owner and like peace of mind in a crappy road condition state that sees snow, these are definitely your tires. Its a good feeling being this confident in ur tires. In case anyone out there forgets, your tires are absolutely the most important, daily used, components of ur vehicle. Cheaping out in hard times is necessary on many things, I am a firm believer your tires are not one of them. Finally and most importantly, they have many places they make these tires, im sure. My set was made in the United States, which I had no idea they even made them here. That alone has given me peace of mind. Thankyou Nitto. Excellent tire you created here.😀😀

for a daily drive 50 miles per day. Street and highway road surfaces . they are a very nice and comfortable riding tire for an A/T tire. I like them in the wet as well. Although i haved winter tires i have driven these in the snow and they did very well.

Most customers rate treadwear as excellent, with scores of 9s and 10s dominating. The Nomad Grappler's durability shines in rugged all-terrain use, with many noting impressive longevity. A few 7-8 scores suggest minor variance, but overall performance aligns with expectations for an on-road all-terrain tire's long-lasting tread life.

...I will also say the tread wear is incredible and the 60k mile warranty is unbeatable...
These tires are the classic jack of all trades and master of none. They are quieter than just about any AT tires, but much louder than your average All Seassons. They are good enough in snow for to drive 50+ days a year over Colorado mountain passes during the worst snow storms of the year. But they still don't match a true winter tires capabilities on ice/light snow. Deep snow they are great but rarely do ypu run into deep snow on a road. These tires are very capable off road and felt very good in loose sand and small rocks. They would not be a great choice for a dedicated 4wd vehicle that spends the majority of it's time on dirt not asphalt. A true AT tire will still be better than these.
That all being said for someone like me that needs winter capable tires, goes light off roading a fee times a year and still wants something comfortable(but louder) on road tire these are simply the best. They do well enough in all 3 aspects that I can forgive the fact that I have to drive 5-10mph slower than those with winter tires in bad conditions. I am okay with the extra road noise because I know my camping spot choice is 4x that from when I had street tires on the same car. I will also say the tread wear is incredible and the 60k mile warranty is unbeatable.
If you want tires for 1 specific condition above all else get a tire that specializes in that. But if you want 1 set of tires to leave on all year for all your activites these are hard to beat.
