The NT555 G2 is Nitto's next-generation Ultra High Performance Summer tire, developed for drivers of muscle cars, sports cars, performance coupes and sedans, seeking optimal dry and wet traction in a true grip-focused tire. Like all summer tires, the NT555 G2 is not intended to be driven, stored, or serviced in near- or below-freezing temperatures, through snow, or on ice.

The Nitto NT555 G2's silica-reinforced high stiffness compound is molded into a directional tread pattern, featuring large, tapered tread blocks for optimum dry grip. Two circumferential solid ribs at the tire's center provide rigidity for straight-line stability during hard braking and acceleration, while reinforced shoulder blocks offer satisfying grip and cornering in both dry and wet conditions. Four wide circumferential grooves allow water to flow through the tread to lateral notches for water evacuation and hydroplaning resistance.

The internal construction of the Nitto NT555 G2 consists of a two-ply polyester casing for flexibility and stability. Its two wide steel belts are reinforced by 2 nylon cap plies for added durability and high-speed support.

Note: Ultra High Performance Summer tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Ultra High Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage. Tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.

...They are great in wet, great in snow, and great in mud, which I've had in 500 miles...

These tires are excellent. After leveling the truck I upsized to these tires. They are quiet, have good traction in all conditions, and are comfortable. There were only a couple of choices as I did not want an E rated tire and these are an excellent option. I am very pleased driving in town, on the highway, and in light off road/dirt roads. They are great in wet, snow, and mud, which I’ve had in 500 miles. Vey happy!

The road noise extremely low. The droning of the tires on the road are almost nonexistent. I am very please with these tires and I will continue to buy them until they stop making them.

...And these tires have outperformed the Toyo in every category... they don't squall in corners on dry asphalt...

I ran nittos on all my trucks up until they discontinued the grappler G2 and decided to try Toyo At3s. Those toyos only achieved 30k miles before they were unsafe to drive with. With no wet traction and barely any dry traction. So I then switched to these Recon Grapplers. And these tires have out performed the Toyo in every category. I have 14k more miles on these than I did the toyos and have more tread left, have 3x the traction in the rain and they don't squall in corners on dry asphalt. I will say, the ice traction and snow performance left a little to be desired, but they're not technically a snow rated tire so with that being said, I'm satisfied overall. Probably going to switch and try the falken wildpeaks next since they have a winter rating for snow but I'd definitely purchase this particular tire again for sure.

The tires I previously had on my jeep were Toyo Open Country RTs - this tire was very noisy, and made for an uncomfortable ride in that I couldn't carry on a conversation on the phone, or listen to my radio at a reasonable volume. I bought the Nitto RECON Grappler A/Ts, and all I can say is.... OH MY, why didn't I switch tires sooner? These tires are so much quieter for daily driving use, I can cruise around town with the top off, listen to the radio, and have nice conversation without all the tire noise. I haven't tested them in off road situations yet, or experienced them in the rain, but will update soon.

Good tire for the price and treadwear. Definitely quieter than some other all-terrain and hybrid-terrain tires. Make sure to rotate them periodically because they do have a tendency to wear unevenly, especially on HD trucks. I got about 50,000 miles on my first set, and I will be ordering the same tires again. They do a pretty good job in most conditions. They are average on really wet roads and in slick mud but excel in normal on-road conditions and most off-road conditions. I would recommend these tires to someone who does a little bit of offroading, but who primarily wants a tire that looks aggressive, with minimal road noise, and decent on-road performance. There are better tires for offroad (mud terrain) and there are better on-road tires (highway/street tires), but these are a good in-between. Never had any issues with punctures, lugs falling off or wearing wrong, or trouble balancing. They work good for HD/LT trucks. They are fairly firm, so I recommend running them around 65 psi on HD trucks for ride comfort and airing them up when towing or carrying a heavy payload.
