The Firestone Destination LE2, Firestone's Highway All-Season tire, was developed for the drivers of light-duty pickups, vans, crossovers and sport utility vehicles. It is designed to combine long wear, a comfortable ride and all-season traction, even in light snow.
The Destination LE2 uses a silica-enhanced light truck compound molded into a symmetric tread design that helps grip the road in dry, wet and wintry conditions. Notched shoulder blocks backed by continuous ribs work together to promote dry road handling, even wear and long treadlife. Circumferential and sweeping grooves across the tire's footprint help evacuate water to resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Cross grooves, stepped inside shoulder rib notches and zigzag sipes provide biting edges that promote traction in snow.
The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon to provide strength, uniformity and durability on top of a polyester cord body that helps cushion the ride.

Testing Highway All-Season Tires Designed to Tackle the Daily Drive (03:03)
You drive a pickup or an SUV, don't really drive off-road, and want a tire that delivers predictable handling, reasonable ride comfort, good treadlife, and traction in a variety of conditions.
That may be a lot to ask. But if it's what you're looking for, a Highway All-Season tire should fit your needs. So we hit the test track on the new General Grabber HTS 60.
Owners report excellent dry traction and wet performance, with scores consistently in the 9-10 range, highlighting confident handling and hydroplaning resistance. Winter traction earns praise for rugged conditions (7-9 range), though a few note reduced grip on ice. Ride comfort receives strong marks for smoothness, with many citing a quiet, composed feel. Treadwear scores 8-10, with users appreciating long-lasting performance in on-road and light off-road use. While most feedback aligns with its all-terrain purpose, occasional lower winter scores suggest prioritizing its strengths in dry/wet environments. Overall satisfaction reflects its capability as a durable, comfortable option for varied driving scenarios.

...Pirelli has done a great job with this tire, excellent in dry, excellent in rain, excellent in mud, and excellent in snow conditions...
After reading the reviews posted for this tire, I decided to purchase. Pirelli has done a great job with this tire, excellent in dry, rain, mud, and snow conditions. I have a 2" lift w/ HD springs in my Jeep and the tires really smoothed out the ride in city/highway driving. The sidewall design is a bit busy for my taste, however once the tires are on and the performance of them is experienced, they stand out!

Great tire, much better than Goodyear Wranglers(OEM). Aggressive look and feel on vehicle. Many comments and looks from others who see them. Most definitely would buy again. Absolutely great on the road; wet or dry.

Much better tire for snow and ice than my previous Bridgestones.Noise level just slightly higher but that is to be expected with an all terrain tread.Great wet weather traction. My Lexus rides like when it was new.Tim Marion,Ohio

Most customers rate the Scorpion ATR's winter traction highly, with snow and deep snow scores often 8-10. Ice traction sees solid 7-9 ratings, aligning well with its all-terrain design. A few lower scores note occasional challenges in extreme ice conditions.

...Performs well in winter conditions. Had only let me down on one occasion all winter, trying to go very steep hill on ice road...
Good wet traction and cornering stability. Performs well for AT tyre in winter conditions. Had only let me down on one occasion all winter, trying to go very steep hill on ice road. Ride comfort on as on highway tyre, had the Dueler HT before, but better then other AT's. Deep agressive protectors make it good going through muddy fields and deep or compacted snow. Overall very good AT tyre.

...So far I have been impressed by the Scorpion ATRs winter abilities. These tires superior on snow covered and icy roads-so much so that I would say they equal many common winter tires. I have been continually amazed by the grip from these Pirelli tires on packed snow and ice covered roads.
I bought this tire primarily as a compromise to achieve the best winter driving performance possible without springing for a dedicated winter tire. So far I have been impressed by the Scorpion ATRs winter abilities. These tires a superior on snow covered and icy roads-so much so that I would say they equal many common winter tires. I have been continually amazed by the grip from these Pirelli tires on packed snow and ice covered roads. I have used them extensively on mountain passes throughout the Rocky Mountain States and they lend a confidence to winter driving-just ask the people I passed over Teton Pass. The dry and wet pavement traction is better than I ever expected from a tire that is labeled as an All-Terrain. We almost need a new category to fit the Scorpion ATR-Performance All-Terrain. These tires allow me to flog my vehicle way-too-fast over harsh dirt roads and keep me between the ditches. After 5000 miles (90% highway) I see only minor wear at the tire's shoulders-most likely attributed to spirited cornering. An added plus is The Tire Rack's great price for these tires.

...I keep these on my truck through the winter and they also offered very good light snow and ice traction and acceptable traction in the occasional heavy snow...
Wet weather traction has always been a problem, because of the torque that comes with driving a diesel. These tires cut the wheel spin in the rain by more than 50%. I keep these on my truck through the winter and they also offered very good light snow and ice traction and acceptable traction in the occasional heavy snow. I do a lot of driving across Washington state and found the noise level and ride comfort to be very good with exceptional tread wear.

...They definitely provide less dry traction/performance than the ATRs but for my needs it is a perfect compromise as the ATRs were not good in snow...
This set of tires replaced my Pirelli Scorpion STRs, which were awsome highway tires. Since I am a skier, I needed a better tire for winter driving so I chose these (ATRs). I am extremely pleased with the overall performance in wed/dry/snow conditions. They are very comfortable and quiet. They definitely provide less dry traction/performance than the ATRs but for my needs it is a perfect compromise as the ATRs were not good in snow. I rotate and balance every 10K so I always get the max out of my tires. The STRs lasted for about 50,000 mi and the ATRs are curently showing minimal wear. Hightly recommend these to any SUV owner who wants all weather capabilities in a tire but is not looking for top performance on dry roads. Also did notice a slight decline in gas milage as compared to the STRs and the STRs were also a slightly harder ride. The STRs are definitely more performance oriented while the ATRs are more for comfort and all weather capability. Love-em to death!

...The tire does very well at speed in dry conditions...
We bought the car with this tire. It has preformed well, and I recently repurchased the tire after 50,000. I consider that good mileage on the tire based on the type of driving that I do. The tire preforms good (not excellent) in wet conditions, but we were looking for an upgrade in that department. Due to the size and speed rating we were not able to do so. The tire does very well at speed in dry conditions. Over the last 10,000 miles the tire has gotten noticibly louder and it was not a quiet tire to begin with. I have owned one other set of Pirellis and this tire was far superior (both were relatively loud). Only got 20,000 out of the last set on an Audi Allroad doing mostly city driving. That car chewed through a nice set of Michelins pretty fast as well.

I bought these tires in Maryland knowing I was moving to Nevada and on/off road conditions. This is the second winter with them in Northern Nevada and the snow has been heavy this year. Tire wear including towing horse trailers has been excellent. Dry and off road has been outstanding. You sacrafice a little in snow since they are all weather and not pure snow tires, but even with 50K on them I'm doing fine in 8-10" of snow this year. I just moved 5 140lb bales of hay from snow covered field storage to my horse with no problem and then drove into town on barely plowed roadways. Before NEXT winter they will have about 70K on them and I'll replace them with the same tire. If you don't think they do good in snow, buy a snow tire, if you only got 50K or less out of them, learn about taking care of your tires. I'll easily get through this winter of snow, all next summer, and that will include rough off road excursions. AWESOME TIRE! Great price, great wear, great ability. I drive over jack brush and don't worry about it.

...Road noise is nonexistent and comfort is on par with Toyo Open Country H/Ts, the Pirelli don't have the width the Toyos do even though they are the same size but for the price I paid I'm happy with them...
I’ve been very impressed. I don’t feel water on the road and they grip just as well as they do on dry pavement, there’s no “impact” when I hit standing water on the road and I haven’t experienced any hydroplaning. Road noise is nonexistent and comfort is on par with Toyo Open Country H/Ts, the Pirelli don’t have the width the Toyos do even though they are the same size but for the price I paid I’m happy with them. They handle beautifully, abrupt maneuvering is easy and confident. The white lettering is only visible when up close, the white scorpion looks like a sticker until you get close.

...If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable tire for city/highway use I highly recommend them. They are one of the quietest, most comfortable tires I've seen on a truck...
These are the stock tires on this F150. If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable tire for city/highway use I highly recommend them. They are one of the quietest, most comfortable tires I've seen on a truck. They are excellent tires...IF you do not live in a climate that gets snow or ice. If there is the least bit of snow or ice (or wet grass), the tires are terrible at best. The least bit of throttle has them spinning. I have to put the truck into 4wd just to get going. No tires are great on ice, but these take it to a new low level. Being in Minnesota, I will not let these tires see another winter. I've been driving 40+ years and I know about winter tires. Most people however want a tire that performs adequately year round and they don't change out tires for winter.

...I have done long highway in comfort and quiet, and every form of unpaved surface!...
Bought these after extensive research! Got it right! I have done long highway in comfort and quiet, and every form of unpaved surface! I do lots of off road events and LOTS of individual exploration. Do Snow, soft sand, slick mud, mossy rocks and fording water and they have been effective in all venues. After 40+k miles they are still well treaded for road use. Going to get a new set as we're off to the deep wilds again and I want the best!

...The treadwear is amazing i think i'm almost coming up to 40k miles on these and there is still plenty of tread left to go another 10k miles or so...
This is the second set of Pirelli Scorpions i have used on my Suburban 4X4 and the reasons being these tires are amazing especially for the price. My suburban every year does city/highway during the summer and snow and ice during the winters in Lake Tahoe and the tires have performed above and beyond my expectations. The tires look great on any truck and perform even better. Having a 6,000 lb truck you have to pick wisely what type of tires you put on as you don't want to be one of those people on the side of the road wondering why you made the choice to buy the cheapest tire that put you there in the first place. The aggresice tread pattern has taken me through ice, deep and light snow, lots of rains and deep puddles, off/road and lots of on/road and for the price you cannot beet these tires. Whatever you do make sure you are about a little under the recommended tire pressure and the tires will perform perfectly. The treadwear is amazing i think i'm almost coming up to 40k miles on these and there is still plenty of tread left to go another 10k miles or so. Great tire and awesome for the off-road and severe weather especially for a large suv like a suburban that will go no matter where you turn since it's so big and heavy but these tires really help the truck respnd to your touch. My hat off to the guys at Pirelli - no wonder their tires are picked for the best cars in the world.
