...Hydroplaning is minimal and wet grip is great...
I bought these in May 2021 to replace a set of Firestone Destination LE2s that were on my 2014 Touareg when I purchased the vehicle in 2020. As a first time Pirelli buyer, I found the Pirelli Scorpion Zero Run Flat to be very well planted in most conditions. I live in Maine and there were 3 major snowstorms including one icy morning school run where these tires performed better than I expected. Im generally a proponent of snow tires and used to switch out for the winter season on my previous cars. This set of Pirellis performed well enough that I bought 2 more and plan on buying another 2 for when this set wears out. After 8900miles, one year later in April 2022, they are still performing well, low noise and smooth rolling at 75mph highway speeds. Hydroplaning is minimal and wet grip is great. Dry traction is excellent even pushing on tight turn highway ramps. I've never doubted the grip on wet and dry and while I was being cautious, driving on frozen morning roads gave me no concern during the school run. One instance where I did break traction on ice at low speeds, the slide was minimal and very controllable. Treadwear is exceeding my expectations and I have not rotated them since installation. I expect to get at least another 15000 miles out of this set, easily. Probably more. I do short rural drives in the week and longer highway drives on the weekends over 100 miles at 75+mph. These have done well for me on unpaved gravel roads as well

Most customers rate winter traction highly (scores 8-10), with reliable snow and deep snow performance. Some noted lower ice grip, but overall positive feedback for all-season capability.

...It shouldnt be as good in winter conditions as it is, and I continue to be amazed by these tires in 2022-23 winter season... Make no mistake, this isnt a snow tire, so dont expect snow-cat like grip, but it does a remarkedly good job where it has no business performing.
I replaced a set of these exact same tires at 100k miles. Previous set had 22k miles on them at the time I replaced them (look for my previous review here.) I love this tire despite my suspicion that it wears more heavily during the hotter temps in the summer. This makes sense condsidering how well it performs in normal winter weather conditions for southern coastal Maine - a tire NOT rated with the severe snow service, 3 peaked mountain rating. I found this offers better performance for cooler seasons at the cost of wear in the hot summer months (coupled with the all wheel drive system providing additional wear). I am hoping for 25k miles on this set. I'll provide an update when they get down to the wear bars.
Awesome traction, feedback and control from new to worn out. It shouldnt be as good in winter conditions as it is, and I continue to be amazed by these tires in 2022-23 winter season. The wear was even on all 4 and there was no increase in noise or loss of performance at the end of the treadwear life (just over 2/32). Make no mistake, this isnt a snow tire, so dont expect snow-cat like grip, but it does a remarkedly good job where it has no business performing.

...I have driven in ice and snow as well as in heavy rain at highway speeds up to 80mph and these have never let me down or given me reason not to trust the grip. Outstanding.
This is my 2nd set of Pirelli Scorpion Zero Run Flats in 275/45R20. These are great tires on my 2014 Touareg and have performed all the way to end of tread life. In the last 100 miles at 26,300 they began to wear unevenly and need to be replaced. They remained quiet and responsive in all conditions worn well into the wear bars with at least 2 drives in rain and snow/ice after 26,000 miles. Though I wish they would last to 30,000 miles or more they perform so well that I continue to buy them as my only tire for Maine weather. I have driven in ice and snow as well as heavy rain at highway speeds up to 80mph and these have never let me down or given me reason not to trust the grip. Outstanding.

...with 3/32 left (almost to the wear bars) I drove through some snow covered roads with no issues... Had no issues in 3 inches of snow with 3/32 left. The AWD was definitely working, but no sliding or loss of control...
I reviewed these earlier with 8900miles on this set. Well, I made it to 22000 miles before putting another set of these on my 2014 Touareg. Even with 3/32 left (almost to the wear bars) I drove through some snow covered roads with no issues. There was more tendency to follow cracks in the road in the dry, but the tire was significantly worn and I knew I was only a week away from putting a fresh set on. Traction never gave out except in icy conditions. Had no issues in 3 inches of snow with 3/32 left. The AWD was definitely working, but no sliding or loss of control. Tire noise was minimal through to the end. This rubber compound works well in cold temps. I had mornings down to 19 degrees F. Drove 1800 miles round trip to South Carolina in 100 degree F at 80mph over this summer with more than half tread wear. Outstanding wear longevity even for a rubber hungry torsen awd system.

...I managed to squeeze in a spirited lap on the Nürburgring and an all-out track session at Hockenheimring. The Pirelli All-Seasons performed exceptionally well...
I've had the privilege to take my SRT Grand Cherokee with me on my last military assignment to Stuttgart, Germany. I managed to squeeze in a spirited lap on the Nrburgring and an all-out 15 min track session at Hockenheimring. The Pirelli All-Seasons performed exceptionally well. Wish I could say the same for the stock Brembo brakes :-(
I would say we maybe received 2-3 inches of snow at the most and I felt these tires gave me the plenty of confidence to drive on narrow German streets. The only drawback was the local requirement for three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) rated tires. If you have M+S rated tires, you will need to upgrade to the new rating by 2024.
Now that I'm back in the States, I recently replaced all four OEMs due to picking up screws and nails.

...Great traction... handle was supreme. Cornering was great...
These tires are still new, so of course it is great from the start. I used to use Quatrac 5 and had to switch to the Scorpion's. Took a nice rainy road trip and the tires responded very well! Great traction, water displacement was good and handle was supreme. Cornering was great and road noise was low. I will have to see how tires ride with 6-10K wear. Most tires ride well when extremely new!!

...Liked the old ones but these are much more responsive with a great ride. Thought I had gotten new shocks, but no, it was the Pirelli Scorpions.
Love these tires! Drive the same way every day to work and back and I can tell I needed new tires. My old tires hydroplaned once and time for new tires. Liked the old ones but these are much more responsive with a great ride. Thought I had gotten new shocks, but no, it was the Pirelli Scorpions.

...The road noise is minimal and ride is comfortable.
When shopping for run flat tires for my BMW X5 I was limited on brands. I ran two sets of Bridgestone Alenzas on it and wanted something different. They were okay but not great tires. I am very happy with these Pirelli's. With 23500 miles on them they still have a little less than half the tread left. The Bridgestone's only gave me about 27k miles before replacing. The Pirelli's drive great in wet and dry weather. The road noise is minimal and ride is comfortable. Handling in the snow is adequate but not the best I've ever experienced.
Overall, these are good tires and I will be putting them back on my BMW when it's time to replace them.

...It has shown little wear in over 15k miles of mostly highway driving... I expect to get around 40K miles out of the Pirellis on our X5 but may decide to replace them early with non runflats...
I had reservations about this tire but had no choice as they were installed at the factory in SC and the dealer said they would and could not swap them out for non runflats even though I ordered the spare tire kit and had a spare. That said, we have been more than pleased with this tire. It has performed flawlessly so far. It has shown little wear in over 15k miles of mostly highway driving. It is quiet and relatively smooth especially for a runflat. I am running slightly less than the BMW recommended tire pressures except when we take a long road trip on the interstate, then I increase the pressures by a couple psi. When it comes time to buy new tires I will probably switch to a non runflat passenger car tire like the Continental DWS06 or an SUV tire like the Pirelli Scorpion Verde. I put a set of the Pirellis on my wife's RX and they are performing very well. The ride is better and quieter than the DWS06s they replaced which we thought were better than the OEM Michelin SUV tires. I expect to get around 40K miles out of the Pirellis on our X5 but may decide to replace them early with non runflats. Time will tell.
