The Firehawk Indy 500 is designed to deliver impressive performance in wet and dry conditions.

Like all summer tires, Firehawk Indy 500 tires are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500The Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 uses a new, high-performance, silica-enhanced Long Link Carbon tread rubber compound molded into an aggressive-looking asymmetric tread design featuring large independent shoulder blocks designed to improve cornering and handling in dry conditions. The center circumferential groove features proprietary Pulse Groove Technology to enhance water evacuation, and combined with the new tread compound and two additional circumferential grooves, provides shorter stopping distances in the wet than its predecessor.

Pirelli Scorpion Zero Reviews

Customers think the Pirelli Scorpion Zero delivers excellent dry traction (scores 9-10) and confident wet grip with strong hydroplaning resistance (7-9), fitting its Street/Sport Truck All-Season role. Winter traction shows mixed results, with some drivers noting struggles in snow and ice (scores 3-6). Ride comfort earns praise for smoothness (7-9), though a few mention occasional road noise. Treadwear raises concerns, with many ratings below 6 suggesting shorter lifespan expectations. While it excels in dry/wet handling and stability for trucks/SUVs, buyers prioritizing winter performance or long-term durability may want to weigh alternatives.

Tire in Dry conditions can be noisy on dry pavement. Tire exceeds expectations in ANY type of wet weather, rain, snow, ice, fog you name it. That is when this tire performs as good as any Michelin Top of the line tire. As long as you get them rotated you should have no problem getting 50K miles out of this tire. Have driven Bridgestone, Firestone, Michelins , Continentals in comparison the this Pirelli Model Scorpion Zero . It has earned the right to be called Top Shelf material.

...Wet traction is outstanding; never felt uneasy on the roads regardless of the amount of moisture...

These were the O.E tires on my Rover. I've put roughly 9K miles on the tires since I purchased the vehicle. So far, I don't have any BIG complaints with the tires. They are a bit noisier than what I would have expected on a 'Luxury SUV', but it really doesn't bother me. Dry traction is what you come to expect from Pirelli tires. Wet traction is outstanding; never felt uneasy on the roads regardless of the amount of moisture.

The only thing that would keep me from purchasing these again would be the price. With so many comparable tires on the market, the high price may not be worth it.

...wet traction in the warm is quite good as well. no complaints about the tire, feels very well composed even under heavy rain conditions...

the Pirelli Scorpion Zero is a very good tire in many ways, and is better than most of its competitors. This set of tires lasted a very very long time but they started deteriorating at about 60,000 miles. they begun wearing very unevenly and cupped which caused very noisy highway miles (Alignment was checked and was perfect). I am on my second set as of this year now, and they are actually a really good tire when new.

Dry: warm, dry weather these are great. Even though my GL is quite a large vehicle I drive very spiritedly and these tires offer great feel and turn in composure as well as grip. they are not quiet even when new, but are acceptably loud for the first 40-60,000 miles. After that number of miles, the tires should be replaced anyways for safety. braking performance is also very good even with a heavy trailer load.

Wet: wet traction in the warm is quite good as well. no complaints about the tire, feels very well composed even under heavy rain conditions.

Winter: this is where this tire ( and most other so called all seasons ) fall on their face. they're almost unsafe when compared to my Nokian Hakkepeliita winter setup, but compared to other all-seasons, they are ok. ICE traction is where these are best in the winter. stopping is an issue with these, as is cornering. snow traction is very very poor (even when compared to rival all-season tires). anything up to 4" is ok, but sketchy in the stability department. anything above 6", even at low speeds, you aren't going anywhere. even with all-wheel drive. they lack a pliable compound and grooves to get the job done.

over all, it's one of the better all around tires, but I would consider it a three-season tire, and if you treat it as such, it is a fantastic set of rubber.

buy winter tires for winter if you live in such a climate.

...The traction and response of steering is impeccable...

These are the best tires I’ve ever had on a vehicle. Minimal road noise and such a smooth ride. You will be going 70 on the highway, and these tires make it feel like you are going 40. The traction and response of steering is impeccable. You may pay a premium for these, but if these traits listed above matter to you, it is worth it.

...The Volvo goes well with them in the snow and on wet and or dry pavement...

These Pirelli Scor[pion Zero tires were OEM standard on my Volvo XC60 T6 and have lasted 48,500. I will be replacing them with a new set as they have earned the reward. They are trouble free. Wear evenly, and are quiet. The Volvo goes well with them in the snow and on wet and or dry pavement. I will change them at the current mileage as winter is coming but if it were summer, I think I can get perhaps 5000 more miles on them. A really good tire.

...The comfort level is as good or better than the OEMs (Firestone) I had before...

So far so good. The tires have handled well in my opinion in both dry and wet weather conditions. The comfort level is as good or better than the OEMs (Firestone) I had before. Comments on tread life will have to be postponed until I put enough miles on it to fully evaluate. Hoping it can last beyond 40k to get my moneys worth. Otherwise, these Pirellis looks great on my Yukon.

These were standard on the Telluride, ride and handling in dry and wet conditions good. On even light snow (1-2 inches) car is all lover the road, very uncomfortable. In over 50 years of winter driving in northern Michigan these are the worst tires I've ever owned, I do not drive the car when there is snow on the roads. The tires were the OEM on my SUV ME/BE 2012 GL450 . These tires have worn out incredibly quickly. I have trouble driving my SUV in rain and snow. If I stop, it is too difficult to get started again if the ground is wet with snow. The traction is terrible. I feel very unsafe with these tires and would not recommend them to anyone. I have to replaced them. It rained the other day and I felt like I had no control over my SUV on the highway. I have 32K on these tires and i have to replaced them . Poor winter performance as they have aged, and I frankly no longer trust them in snow (or heavy rain) these tires .i Replace them with The Scorpion Verde All Season Plus. Hopefully they'll work better for me here in northern New Jersey.

My truck came with Continental Contact and I replaced at 27,435 miles in Dec 2015 only because I wanted a fresh tread for winter. The Perelli Scorpion Zero is a tire I previously had a good experience with on a Volvo XC 90. Fast forward, I am at 4mm on the tread indicator at 17,000 miles. So, while I have provided good ratings on handling, treadlife is poor. I'm putting the Continental's back on as I write.
