The Raptor HR is RIKEN's H-speed rated Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, minivans and crossover vehicles. Designed as a sport-touring tire, the Raptor HR combines good handling performance with year-round traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, including light snow.
Featuring an all-season tread compound molded into a symmetric design, the Raptor HR utilizes a continuous center rib for constant rubber-to-road contact that delivers solid on-center feel and steering response. Multiple lateral notches work in conjunction with the four wide, circumferential grooves to move water away from the contact patch and resist hydroplaning, while in-block sipes provide the biting edges needed to generate all-season traction.

...In the wet and in snow I have been very impressed. I have had no issues in the wet and they are very confidence inspiring...
These tires have pleasantly surprised me. I dont have power steering and the inputs feel a little too light and unresponsive, but not enough to be dangerous or problematic. They handle pretty well in the dry and provide decent sportiness for a cheap all season, but it is nothing to blow me out of the water. In the wet and snow I have been very impressed. I have had no issues in the wet and they are very confidence inspiring. In the few times I've driven them in snow they've gotten me everywhere I've needed to go with perfectly acceptible slippage and brakeing. I don't have ABS so the braking performance is greatly impacted by my abilities, but I found that, assuming I left decent following distance, I've never feared I wouldn't stop in time and I've made it up some decent snowy hills. They're not perfect, but they're very impressive for the price.

...On road, the 2 hour drive to the track was very comfortable given the 60 series sidewall. Noise was not an issue and the tires responded well to my steering and braking inputs...
It is very difficult to find factory sized 215/60 15 tires for my 1983 Porsche 944. A fellow 944 enthusiast recommended these tires so I bought them. I had a HPDE event approaching and needed tires. I was skeptical of how well the tires would grip on the track given the very high treadwear rating of over 500. On road, the 2 hour drive to the track was very comfortable given the 60 series sidewall. Noise was not an issue and the tires responded well to my steering and braking inputs. On track, I lowered air pressures to 31psi and the car handled very well. There was no over nor understeer and no wheel lock up under braking. The car is rather under powered at a factory rating of 143hp so there was no wheel spin on corner exits as well. I rebuilt the suspension specifically for street / track use. Koni yellow adjustable shocks /struts, larger sway bars, polyurethane bushings, 200lb coil over front springs, strut tower brace, and the stock rear torsion bars. The car has a road friendly alignment and stock ride he ight. These tires suit my needs quite well. If I tracked this car competitively, I would most certainly purchase a 200tw track tire.

...I'm at 48,500 miles after 5 years and the tread is getting thin...
Riken's have always had a reputation with me as a great "value tire". I had them years ago on a Fox Body 5.0 Mustang and loved them. This time I grabbed them off Tire Rack for my Saturn Twin Cam. THE TITLE STILL APPLIES! I'm at 48,500 miles after 5 years and the tread is getting thin. I may buy my tires locally but wanted to let people know about my experience. They're not primo tires that are super quiet or handle perfect. If you want those, pony up the currency for some Michelins! Haha If you want good, safe tires that will last and you're a "bargain vulture" like me, then this is the tire for you.

I bought this tire mainly because of the price. I am impressed with the tread wear. The road noise is noticeable but not distracting. I understand with lower cost comes less performance but I prefer a stronger sidewall.
