The Raptor VR is RIKEN's V-speed rated Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sedans, coupes, minivans and crossover vehicles. Designed as a sport-touring tire, the Raptor VR combines good handling performance with year-round traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, including light snow.
Featuring an all-season tread compound molded into a symmetric design, the Raptor VR utilizes a continuous center rib for constant rubber-to-road contact that delivers solid on-center feel and steering response. Multiple lateral notches work in conjunction with the four wide, circumferential grooves to move water away from the contact patch and resist hydroplaning, while in-block sipes provide the biting edges needed to generate all-season traction.

These tires look great, and get awesome traction in wet or dry conditions. I only had one incident of hydroplaning and that's only because I forced it to by exceeding the speed limit by 20 mph. Even then it was a slight pull to the right after hitting the puddle.
These tires look great, and get awesome traction in wet or dry conditions. I only had one incident of hydroplaning and that's only because I forced it to by exceeding the speed limit by 20 mph. Even then it was a slight pull to the right after hitting the puddle. I haven't been in too many icy conditions with these tires, but the past couple of months have been pretty icy. They get pretty good traction in the ice even though I wasn't using chains, cables, or Steel cleats. I didn't get it to break traction in the ice under normal driving and slightly under the speed limit, but you can feel it wouldn't take much to be sent into a 4 wheel drift. Overall, I highly recommend these tires to anyone that has a spirited to aggressive driving style. I will definitely be ordering these again.

...These tires seam to wear very quickly but at least on an all wheel drive are amazing in snow...
BMW’s are known to wear ot tires very quickly even with alignments twice a year . Running staggered sizes doesn’t allow for rotation so it compounds the water issue. These tires seam to wear very quickly but at least on an all wheel drive are amazing in snow . On dry pavement they ride smoothly and cornering is exceptional . If these were priced higher then I would not recommend them but at the price point Tire Rack has them they are a great value .

I have had these tires on my Honda Civic Si and Audi S3 for 5+ years at this point. I have gone through two sets on my Civic and have been blow away by them. I got caught in snow several times with my civic (3-4 inches) and although they did slip on hard acceleration, they had no problem getting traction. Just give yourself some distance when stopping as you may slide a little. They are of the softer compound which lets them wear a littler faster than most A/S, but they perform extremely well during in the summer months for spirited driving. There is almost little to no hydroplaning with these due to the V-shaped tread design. I am not sure how well they hold up on an autocross track, but would imagine they would perform well for a session or two. I will be running these tires for as long as they manufacture them, especially at the cost you can't beat it. Just be prepared to replace them a little sooner than other A/S tires.

...I haven't been driving through a lot of rain so I can't comment on wet traction but with on dry roads, I am very happy with these tires so far...
My 91 Mustang is riding on Koni STRT/Koni orange. The car feels much better and smoother during cornering. I paired them with a set of Steeda lowering springs with a progressive rate and it definitely lowered the car by 1.25-.15 inches. The car is sitting on the stock 16inch Pony rims and I have no rubbing issues so far. I haven't been driving through a lot of rain so I can't comment on wet traction but with dry roads, I am very happy with these tires so far. With 3k miles on them, I see minimal to no wear yet. I wanted these tires for performance but also having an all season option for the winter.

...Little noise, comfortable ride, excellent on turns and sharp response...
The first thing that caught my attn on these tires was the tread design-sporty. The second was the price for the quality. After 1000 miles on the Saturn Sky, they have been very impressive. Little noise, comfortable ride, excellent on turns and sharp response. So far, I have not experienced any of the few complaints in other comments. We''ll see how they are after some more treadwear and another summer on them. This is a 6 months only vehicle and will never see snow or ice. I hope tire rack has these in stock when I am ready for another set

...From what I read, it's only flaw might be tread wear. I'm only putting 500 miles per year on them. So they'll get replaced in 8 years because of age, not tread wear.
There were only 2 choices for the size I needed. This one was 50% less expensive. But for the money, it's probably only slightly less quality. From what I read, it's only flaw might be tread wear. I'm only putting 500 miles per year on them. So they'll get replaced in 8 years because of age, not tread wear.
