I went with 235/40 18 instead of the recommended 225/40 18 to have more sidewall for spirited cornering on back roads and they have exceeded my expectations (for a wannabe rally driver). A number of years ago, these tires were recommended to me by a tire tech at a Subaru dealership as the best lowest cost option for my Impreza Sport. I'm on my second set. For the money, I have no complaints. They are a little noisy and likely almost useless in ice and moderate snow. This is my secondary vehicle and I live on the Texas Gulf Coast, so snow and ice are not a major concern. Tread wear has been what I would consider average. I'm very happy with what I get for the money.
