The Ecsta PA31 (Performance
All-Season) is Kumho's High Performance All-Season tire
developed for drivers of mid-level sports cars, sporty coupes and
high-performance sedans looking to combine everyday street performance
with treadwear. Designed to provide high performance handling in wet and
dry conditions, the Ecsta PA31 delivers Kumho's unparalleled combination
of ride comfort, low noise and all-season traction, even in light
snow.
Ecsta PA31 tires feature an advanced technology tread
compound that blends high performance handling and all-season traction
with long treadwear. Its compound is molded into a mildly directional
tread design that promotes even wear, responsive steering, cornering
stability and braking traction in all-season conditions. The directional
tread design's four circumferential and multiple cross grooves help
expel water quickly to resist hydroplaning and improving wet weather
traction while high sipe density and tread block edges enhance wet
weather handling and wintertime snow traction.
The tire's internal
structure features Kumho's ESCOT Technology to enhance steering response
and increase treadlife by optimizing cord tension distribution in the
sidewall.
flanco o pared.

...Wet traction is phenomenal, much higher than I expected for a this tire and the category in general, recently had driven during a rain storm, lots of standing water pooling on the road and just very soaked conditions, this tire plowed right through all of it, could hardly tell the roads were wet, very impressive...
Definitely impressed with this tire. Wet traction is phenomenal, much higher than I expected for a this tire and the category in general, recently had driven during a rain storm, lots of standing water pooling on the road and just very soaked conditions, this tire plowed right through all of it, could hardly tell the roads were wet, very impressive. The dry traction is solid, par for the course of a high performance all season tire, steering response could be a little bit more engaging, but I would say it's responsiveness is exactly what I'd expect from a high performance all season. Similarly the ride quality is also not bad at all, I would say slightly above average ride comfort, with some very slight road noise, couldn't really hear it until I turned off the radio/AC/ etc. Had to look for it to find it. Overall a phenomenal deal, high quality tire for a very attractive price compared to some of its competition.

...Wet weather driving is excellent and VERY predictable...
I went with a 'Plus-0' fitment on my owned-since-new 2002 Sonata GLS (205/60R-16 to 225/55R-16, as I have done on pretty much any and everything for 40 years. I had Z-rated 205 'off brand' tires on it that handled better than the OE H-rated Michelins and subsequent Kuhmo replacements, but was blown away by the change going to these tires. Wet weather driving is excellent and VERY predictable and the aggressive tread tackled a light snow like a dedicated snow tire. The tires fit fine on the stock 16x6 rims and after much measuring, thankfully cleared an inner upper control arm that concerned me and kept me from upgrading away from the OE size for years. Most any new tire is 'smooth' compared to the semi-dry-rotted and worn-out tires you replace, but was also very surprised at how quiet these tires were at any speed despite the aggressive tread pattern. A simple 20mm wider tire (that matched OE height spec), Z-rated, and an aggressive directional tread made this cheap commuter think its was a BMW on turns and cloverleafs! Awesome tire!

...I have try to get these tires to break loose in wet conditions and they won't... track great on wet...
These tires have been fantastic. Living in Pittsburgh there are lots of different surfaces including brick. I have try to get these tires to break loose in wet conditions and they won't. I have these tires on both of my sons cars quiet on dry roads and track great on wet. Great deal for the money. Would buy again.

...good in deeper we snow...
Got the tires on sale for 78$ a pice. SO far got about 17,000 miles on them and good tread remains. good in deeper we snow and not bad in rain. Over all a good set of tires. Don't forget a good alignment, tire rotation, balance and normal driving will have your tires last long.

Found these tires to be an EXCELLENT value for the performance you get. Not the Best. Not the worst. Good ride. Good snow traction. Can corner fast with them. So far tires are wearing good. Bought another set for my 2012 Honda Accord sedan.

...Tolerable in very light snow, driven gently. Fair to poor in just 2 or 3 inches of snow...
13000 miles currently. They were new on a Certified used Scion xD from a dealer. They are quiet, have very good dry road traction, good wet road manners and decent turn in. Tolerable in very light snow, driven gently. Fair to poor in just 2 or 3 inches of snow. Tread wear has been rapid for the mileage and I don't see them making more than 20,000 miles. I didn't expect great treadwear from a semi performance tire but this is below expectations. They were cheap tires, but not so cheap anymore. My driving is primarily country and suburban roads with an occasional interstate dash. My next tires on this car will be General Altimax RT43's in 205/55/16, the only viable size substitute on the narrow OEM 6 inch wheels. I used that tire on several other cars ( H speed rating) and like them. Above average all around performance, 35k mileage , moderate priced and above average snow grip ( for a all-season touring tire).

...They were predictable, responsive and quiet...
I am running the staggered set of MK3 wheels on my MK1 MR2. 185/55/15 front and 205/50/15 rear. There are not more than 3 options on the tire rack. The setup is not something you can rotate front to back. These tires indicated that they are directional so side to side swapping is out (although the tread pattern looks like it would be no big deal.). All that said, these tires were great for the application. They were predictable, responsive and quiet. My only bother is that the rears did not last more than 18 months (down to wires but worn evenly) while the front tires were only about 1/2 worn or less. I think my right foot has something to do with that so I bought more. Zoomzoom

...So far these have been great, very comfortable and I feel like I can trust them in a hard turn.
I selected the All-Season just in case of rain. Since my miata will be a garage princess, and never driven in any rain, I am select summer tires next time. So far these have been great, very comfortable and I feel like I can trust them in a hard turn.

Good comfort. Great for dirt, tail of the dragon, not so much. A little slick in the wet corners. I recently drove from South Carolina to Alaska on the Kumho PA31. This tire is superb for rough roads, not so much for Midnight Club. This tire still had great control while screaming like a banshee!!! I noticed that the tire has delayed response during turn in.

...When I had them taken off earlier last year, my installer said they wouldn't even put them back on the car for next year, since there's only about 3/32. Thankfully they're warrantied at 50K, so hopefully I'll get some credit back for this garbage set of tires.
I bought a set of these to use as winter tires, since the brilliant minds at Subaru equipped all the new STi's with summer-only tires. They were on for 3 winters, totaling 27,278 miles.
