The Eagle Exhilarate is Goodyear's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for drivers of modern muscle cars, sports sedans and sporty coupes looking for tires that deliver the high-speed traction and handling they want in dry conditions combined with secure grip in inclement weather, including rain and light snow.

The Eagle Exhilarate molds an all-season compound into an asymmetric, five-rib tread pattern. Goodyear's ActiveGrip Technology ensures even pressure distribution in the footprint, and ActiveBraking Technology uses an innovative tread block design to increase contact with the road during hard braking, resulting in enhanced handling and braking traction in dry and wet conditions. The high-silica tread compound improves wet traction, and wide lateral notches and four circumferential grooves evacuate water from the footprint to aid hydroplaning resistance. Sipes and grooves in the tread pattern help provide grip in slippery conditions, including on ice and in light snow.

The internal construction of the Eagle Exhilarate consists of a two-ply polyester cord casing and lightweight, high tensile strength steel belt wire for strong, light construction, while two polyamide reinforcement plies increase high-speed capability.

Goodyear Reviews

Ratings data demonstrates the Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate delivers excellent dry traction (frequent 9-10 scores) with precise steering and confident cornering, aligning with its ultra-high-performance design. Wet traction earns strong praise (8-10 range) for grip and hydroplaning resistance. Winter performance shows variability: many report solid snow capability (7-8 scores), but ice traction receives lower marks (3-5 in some cases), suggesting cautious use in severe icy conditions. A generally comfortable ride (7-10) is noted, though a few mention moderate road noise. Treadwear ratings (7-10) indicate respectable longevity for an all-season performance tire, with some variability depending on driving style. ...The lateral grip in corners and wet grip when it's raining is superb.

I run a staggered set. 245/40/19 and 275/35/19. They are excellent and out performed my expectations for an all season tire. The lateral grip in corners and wet grip when it’s raining is superb. I was shocked how well these worked for all seasons. I don’t drive in the winter so no ice/snow. The rears just wore down to where you can no longer see the number 8. I am sure I will be buying another set of rears before the fronts wear. This is just an unbelievable all season tire that redefines how all season tires should feel.

These are also made in the USA. To some this matters. I also cannot compare these to a summer tire as I haven’t had them on this car but if you don’t want a summer only tire and looking for an all season that doesn’t give up much of anything this is the tire to get! You won’t be disappointed.

For my 2011 BMW 535i Sport, here in Minneapolis MN, this set of Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate is quieter and has better ice/snow/wet traction than my previous set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+. I'd consider them Grand Touring vs Ultra High Performance. Would definitely consider buying them again.

...They have similar wet traction acceleration and cornering stick, but Michelins handle standing water( hydroplaning) better. The Goodyears get a little light feeling in puddles...

11' G37 sedan with sport package/staggered fit.
This review will be a comparison to my previous tires: Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+. Overall, this is a VERY good UHP all season tire and exceeded my expectations. The "heavier" steering wheel feel as compared to the Michelins is what stood out for me the most and as why i favor these over the Michelins. The Michelins may have a hair advantage on cornering and turn-in but with that comes a lighter steering wheel feel. The Goodyears give me more predictability and because of the "heavier' steering wheel , more confidence . There is no delay or steering wheel dead-spot(like Conti Extreme Contact DWS06) when turning or cornering. They have very good dry grip for a UHP, but the Michelins are slightly stickier. Spirited backroads driving, the traction control kicks in a shade more with the Goodyears but no deal breaker. The area where I thought the Goodyears would beat out the Michelins but it did not is wet traction. They have similar wet traction acceleration and cornering stick, but Michelins handle standing water(hydroplaning)better. The Goodyears get a little light feeling in puddles.

The Goodyears are the clear winner in the ride comfort category. They are quieter(both tread growl and white noise) than the Michelins. Ride quality is a huge improvement. Much more refined than the Michelins as they take bumps and road imperfections NOTICEABLY better with no sacrifice to performance or a soft side wall feel. These tires have very close performance and feel to the discontinued Bridgestone Potenzas 970 A/S which I rate as still best overall I've have for my car. The Goodyears are a definite buy again!

...Winter performance - I probably have the least experience so far... We just got hit with our first real snow storm of the season. It started as rain, then changed to about 6-8" snow. This created a slushy ice mix with a snow layer on top. The tires maintained control fairly well on the icy portions, and I had no issues snow plowing my front end through the deep snow sections on side streets...

I have ben really impressed with these tires so far. I live in Michigan, and I drive about 90 miles a day to/from work on combined city and highway. I also am a very spirited driver, and allegedly have ran them at speeds > 100mph. I decided on these to avoid having to have a set of both winter and summer tires for my daily driver.

Amazing summer dry performance for a All-Season tire. The tires are surprisingly (& awesomely) sticky once warmed up and will pick up any little bit of gravel or road debris and flick it up into your wheel well. Driving through my neighborhoods paved street going ~25mph, I was surprised when it sounded like I was driving my truck or jeep down a dirt road.

Wet performance is also great. Good hydroplaning resistance even at highway speeds, and can still take tight corners. Between my cars AWD system and these tires, rain & wet conditions have almost become no factor whatsoever.

Winter performance - I probably have the least experience so far. This is my first winter since purchasing them over the summer. We just got hit with our first real snow storm of the season. It started as rain, then changed to about 6-8" snow. This created a slushy ice mix with a nice snow layer on top. The tires seemed to maintain control fairly well on the icy portions, and I had no issues snow plowing my front end through the deep snow sections on side streets. So far, for not being a true "winter snow tire" I will give them a solid 7.5/10.

Just about to take it in for the first rotation, I will come back and update this later on about treadwear. So far I have not noticed any uneven or fast wearing that some others have mentioned.

...They're extremely grippy on wet roads and have better snow/ice traction than a lot of OEM and replacement all-season tires I've driven. Again, that was my biggest concern and anyone else worried about Winter roads would probably be satisfied with these...

Installed mid December 23 to replace worn OEM Kumho tires around 42k miles on parent's 19 Forte. Initially was upset these 'performance' tires were bought instead of a standard all-season with presumed better tread life, ride quality and snow traction and intended to return them under the 60-day guarantee. Living in Cleveland, OH, my primary concern was winter traction in snow and ice and, before driving these, presumed it would generally worse than a good non-performance all-season that isn't marketed for performance. I thought it was ridiculous that they were sold these 'ultra-performance' tires for an economy car with 140HP instead of an Assurance or similar and I've learned to be very particular with Tires as quality/durability are all over the place and extremely inconsistent between models.

After driving these tires in the wet and snow, my main concerns about wet/snow/ice traction and ride quality have been mostly alleviated and I'd be pretty satisfied provided these tires make it to 40k miles. They're extremely grippy on wet roads and have better snow/ice traction than a lot of OEM and replacement all-season tires I've driven. Again, that was my biggest concern and anyone else worried about Winter roads would probably be satisfied with these. Steering feel is a bit heavier, and turn-in is incredibly responsive (minor steering inputs seem to turn more) if anyone cares/wants that. Road noise on the Freeway isn't great, but it's not terrible either and it's hard to say how much is from being relatively low-profile (225/45/17) and how much is the tire itself. Overall, noise and road imperfection damping is pretty good and unobtrusive, but this feels like the area most compromised. Road imperfections are felt, but damped/quieted pretty well and they definitely are better than a lot of tires with some wear.

To conclude, this is overall a very good all-season in snowy climates provided they last the tread warranty. If they last 40k, it's a good tire.

...The Goodyear is certainly superior in rain and snow, with a very good character in other categories... In summer temps a summer tire or slick is still better for obvious reasons but I have gotten comfortable leaving them on year round...

Perhaps the singular best tire overall I have ever had experience with. For an all season it does perform a bit less prominent than a summer tire for highly spirited actions, that said it also surprises me how well it will perform in auto cross and similar club racing. So what I have noticed is the tire performs very tightly right up to the limit with little warning versus say pirelli or Michelin which also perform well. The Goodyear is certainly superior in rain and snow, with a very good character in other categories. In summer temps a summer tire or slick is still better for obvious reasons but I have gotten comfortable leaving them on year round.

For economy I saw no losses, do not notice tire on commutes. Of special note on a few occasions I picked up nails or bolts and tire remained inflatable to be found on balancing or inspection when I had a hard time with tire pressure. To say I am impressed is an understatement. Does wear quickly with advanced suspension but that is acceptable with rotations it lasts nearly whole warranty period. Track sets I do not count, rotated back to street set. After 4 snow performance is dismal and hydro planning does tick up to happens in deeper occurrences common to my area, not enough to panic, but enough to know a set needs to change.

It was a toss up between these and the the Michelin Crossclimate2/Pirelli Weatheractive, but based on the number of miles I drive per year the Goodyear Exhilarates suited me much better for mpg. These are certainly quieter than I was expecting based on other reviews, certainly had the Crossclimate2/Weatheractive beat there regardless. I know the ice/snow traction won't be as great as the alternatives considered but I'm in Texas. The wet weather handling is superb; I was parting the waters like Moses with no slippage during a couple heavy downpours. The dry traction is great as expected with Goodyear. After first install I was on the highway and the car autobraked due to driver in front hitting the brakes; these tires have some bite. Overall, I would buy these tires again, they have exceeded expectations, now we will see if they actually get the tread life promised out of these. One should also check with wheel/tire insurance because these Goodyear tires are replaced at 2/32, while writing in the policy says coverage to 3/32 or 4/32 depending on underwriter.

I bought these to replace the Bridgestone summer OEM tires, with the intention of extending my driving season into the cold New England winter whenever the roads are clear of snow. My driving doesn’t include autocross or track time, but is spirited enough to generate a little bit of tire squeal or slide the rear end a bit from time to time when conditions and surroundings are appropriate to do so. Having driven though one winter and one summer at this point, I’m quite pleased with the ride, grip, noise level, and steering feel in both hot or cold conditions and in the wet as well as the dry. Sure, there may be better-performing tires available, but for my needs my Miata is still a joy to drive, feels nimble and communicative like it should, and capably handles all of the rural/suburban/urban driving conditions I encounter year-round other than snow. Overall, I’m very happy with my choice.

Tires have performed great for the first 7k miles. They're quiet, feel very connected to the road and have great wet traction, along with dry. Treadwear as far as I can tell has been about what is expected. This is also on a 5,000 lb Tesla. Only knock and this is expected with a tire that grips better than energy efficient tires, is that efficiency is about 10% lower than my previous tires. Any tire in this category that leans towards performance will tend to give about 10% less efficiency vs. Grand Touring tires that are more about longevity and efficiency. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and with the promotions that are readily available for these tires, they're a very good deal.
