The HTR Enhance LX2 is Sumitomo's Standard Touring All-Season tire designed for the drivers of coupes, family sedans and small crossovers and was developed to combine responsive handling and long life with all-season traction, even in light snow.
A high-silica, super microparticulate carbon compound enhances both strength and flexibility for improvements in wear and wet traction, while the asymmetric tread pattern focuses on all-season performance and reliable handling even as the tire wears. Optimized groove depth and even pressure distribution throughout the contact patch help prevent irregular wear, improving the usable life. The compound's high silica content enhances grip in wet conditions, while the straight, circumferential grooves and wide, lateral notches evacuate water from the contact patch for hydroplaning resistance. An increased number of sipes in the tread pattern create more biting edges for traction in snow and on ice, and utilizing 3D zigzag sipes helps retain tread block rigidity for handling, while cross-designed chamfers retain snow in the tread for snow-to-snow traction.
The internal construction of the HTR Enhance LX2 consists of a 2-ply polyester casing beneath two wide, high-rigidity steel belts. A spirally wound, nylon reinforcement enhances high-speed stability, and the high modulus bead insert improves steering response.

I have had 2 sets of Michelin tires on this car, first set were great. Second set were disappointing in wet weather, even when new. These tires have excellent dry and wet grip. In addition, they have a very quiet ride, which was a nice surprise. I have only put about 1000 miles on them, but so far I am very pleased.

pleasantly surprised. Great tires for daily. Do well in temps close to freezing as well as in heat. No issues in the wet. Even, steady wear. No issues with balance. Relatively quiet tire. Will buy again if they last.

...Was nervous about the drive with the tires but they did great. I ran these tires all winter and never had an issue even on untouched country roads or a terribly maintained highway...
Great tire for the price. Was going to put snow tires on like I do every year then a surprise snow storm happened and had to get to work. Was nervous about the drive with the tires but they did great. I ran these tires all winter and never had an issue even on untouched country roads or a terribly maintained highway. Definitely recommend.

...It doesn't have the sharpest feel, but it more than makes up for that with comfort...
Traction isn't the best, but breakaway is very predictable and it slips more under acceleration than braking. It doesn't have the sharpest feel, but it more than makes up for that with comfort. I'm interested in a set for my NA Miata, it's a very likeable tire, and if you get them on special it's very affordable. Treadwear is exceptional for a Sumi/Falken.
