They are not intended for mud, heavy snow, or ice, so their performance in those conditions is not great. On a Subaru Crosstrek they handle mud, gravel, and moderate snow OK. I purchased a size slightly larger than OEM and they fit fine and look great. If we start XC skiing more this winter and spend more time on Grand Mesa or the Ouray area, we'll probably slap some Blizzaks on again, at least for October thru March. Blizzaks on a Subaru stick like Velcro on snow/ice/mud, but they don't last very long.
