The Zeon RS3-G1 is Cooper's Ultra High Performance All-Season tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes and performance sedans looking for a tire to match the personality of their performance vehicles. The Zeon RS3-G1 is designed to deliver impressive handling and traction in dry and wet conditions, while still maintaining year-round capability, even in light snow.
The coupled silica tread compound of the Zeon RS3-G1 is specially formulated to provide maximum dry and wet traction and is molded into an asymmetric pattern with a focus on cornering grip and minimizing tire noise. Wide lateral notches and four deep, circumferential grooves allow water to flow away from the contact patch to resist hydroplaning. Traction in slippery conditions and light snow is aided by the 3-D Micro Gauge sipes, which create the biting edges needed for grip in addition to interlocking below the surface to stabilize the tread and enhance handling in all conditions.
Internal construction of the Zeon RS3-G1 consists of a two-ply polyester casing to maintain the balance between handling and ride quality. The high-stiffness bead filler resists distortion for quick steering response, and the twin steel belts are reinforced by a spirally wound, nylon wrap for high-speed capability.

Testing Two of the Newest Ultra High Performance All-Season Tires(04:54)
In a competitive Ultra High Performance All-Season category focused on crisp, responsive handling, high-speed traction and all-season capability, nearly every brand has an entry. With every new release the current leader is the benchmark and it's a constant game of leapfrog.
Here's how two of the newest stack up against the latest and the greatest in the category.
User feedback reveals the Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 excels in dry traction, with consistent 9-10 scores for confident cornering and responsive handling. Wet performance is also strong, earning 8-10 ratings for grip and hydroplaning resistance. Winter traction shows mixed results-most rate snow capability 6-8, but ice scores dip to 2-5, suggesting cautious use in severe winter conditions. Comfort receives praise for smooth ride quality (7-10), though a few note moderate road noise. Treadwear scores 7-10 highlight durability, aligning well with all-season expectations. While icy performance is a noted limitation, the tire delivers reliable year-round capability for drivers prioritizing dry and wet handling.

Excellent traction in both wet and dry conditions. Very crisp response - better than the OE Bridgestone RE050A and the Federal 595 RS-Rs. I haven't used these tires in the Winter, yet, but they seem to work very well in cold (near freezing) wet conditions. Ride is firm over bumps, like most UHP tires, but not uncomfortable. Noise level is low. Overall, a very impressive tire!

...The Cooper Zeon has the best rain/wet traction of any tire I've ever driven. A few months after I got the Zeons, I had an emergency situation on the interstate where I was about to get sideways at close to 70mph. The Zeons held.
These tires have amazing grip for my LS Camaro. When new, I had to really try to get them to break free. The Cooper Zeon has the best rain/wet traction of any tire I've ever driven.
A few months after I got the Zeons, I had an emergency situation on the interstate where I was about to get sideways at close to 70mph. The Zeons held. I didn't lose traction and was able to drive out of the situation. That was one of several times where I was certain, without a doubt, I'd have been in serious trouble on the Toyo Extensa's that were on the car when I got it.
The trade off for all that grip is that it's now a year later, maybe 45-50k miles on the Zeons and I'm shopping for new tires. I'm sure my driving style and the atrocious condition of the highway I have to drive are contributors to the relatively early wear.
There it is - amazing tires with less than average life span with "spirited driving" (lol) .

...The Zeon has fantastic traction in the dry and wet conditions. Really impressed in those areas as it has nearly the same limit traction as the Michellin AS-3, but not as fast turn in...
I would say the Zeon is an excellent 3-season tire, but really falls short of some of the competition in the winter and snowy conditions. These tires replaced a set of Michellin Pilot Sport AS-3's and I have also had Continental DWS06 as well on my audi's.
The Zeon has fantastic traction in the dry and wet conditions. Really impressed in those areas as it has nearly the same limit traction as the Michellin AS-3, but not as fast turn in. Ride quality is smoother however so I assume you give up those last few percentage points on hard turn-in and responsiveness for a little more comfort on the ride.
I intentionally left the Zeon's on during Denver's snowy October to see if they could be as good as the Continental DWS06 in terms of all year driving. Unfortunately, they didn't have near the bite in the snow/ice/slush as I hoped for. I immediately switched them off to my winter wheels. I would say they are on par, or just slightly worse than the Michelin's in winters, but nothing close to the continentals.
All in all, you could run them all year in snowy conditions, but note they do not have high levels of snow grip or even moderate levels so be careful.

Absolute fantastic. I drive a 2015 Civic Si which is no Ferrari, but still puts these tires to the test. I am currently driving them in an Idaho winter, and they are fantastic. I drive pretty aggressive, and they only spin a little when it¿s about 40 degrees or less. I am very impressed with how they handle snow and ice. I drove on them 17 hours In the middle of the night on an ice covered road in 10 degrees, and they held perfectly. Didn¿t fish tail a single time. Definetly the best tire I¿ve ever had.

Replaced the Brigdestone UHP All Seasons and the day the new Cooper tires were installed I had to drive over a snow covered mountain. I was not expecting them to do so well in snow but they didn't even slip as I passed several SUV's that had slid off the road. Wet traction is also excellent. The tire feels a little soft to me, a bit of sidewall flex in dry cornering but grip is great. For a smooth ride that can handle rain and light snow this is a great bargain tire for a sport sedan. If they last 30-40K miles they are well worth the price.

Great tire. Not sure if it’s my AWD or the tires or combination of both but these tires are great in the rain, snow and even better in dry conditions. Some reviewers with FWD or RWD may not like these but I cannot speculate or comment on their cars. I know that if you have an AWD car, these tires are a beast!!

...The traction I get on dry roads feels like stuck to the pavement in the best way possible...
First set of Cooper tires I've purchased and I am very impressed. These tires drive incredibly smooth and are extremely quiet.
The traction I get on dry roads feels like I'm stuck to the pavement in the best way possible.
The traction I get on wet roads is equally incredible. I have no fear of sliding through turns or when braking hard. Driving through puddles on my old tires would pull my car hard one way or the other. With these tires, I cut through puddles like they aren't even there--even ones several inches deep.
I'd buy these things again in a heartbeat and recommend them to anyone. I don't know if I'll ever buy another brand of tire again after these.

...Handling of the SHO is markedly more crisp but not jittery. Car goes precisely where I point it...
Purchased this tire to replace Conti ExtremeContacts, which were great tires. I know this is right after install, so I will update as we go. Initial impression...Excellent Tire! All four balanced right up without any drama. I was very impressed with the tread pattern and the overall look of the tire. Looks great....for a tire. Sidewalls are stiffer than the Conti's, I like that, we live in a hilly rural area with lots of curvy roads that are fun to drive with good tires, these tires. Traction so far, excellent. Haven't driven in anything extreme like pouring rain or snow, but wet roads give these tires no problems. One thing I did notice immediately was the smoothness of the ride. Really nice. No harshness, no booming over road joints or small bumps. Maybe because of tread depth, but these tires seem to make minor road-surface differences disappear. Very nice. Noisy? Nope. Not on the T-SHO. I detected a different noise pattern than the previous shoes, but not any louder or annoying, just a different, subtle hum over 35mph, but doesn't get louder with speed. Handling of the SHO is markedly more crisp but not jittery. Car goes precisely where I point it. So far....love the Coopers. Will update after the snow flies but I expect these Zeon's to do well.

High ratings highlight a smooth, quiet driving experience, excelling in all-season conditions. A few lower noise scores (4-6) exist but don't overshadow the overwhelmingly positive feedback.

...The Zeons ride 300% better, smoother, quieter, good response in all situations... In any situation, driving these make you feel more comfortable at the wheel, in more control...
Had Goodyears on before pretty well worn out. The Zeons ride 300% better, smoother, quieter , good response in all situations. The outside tread looks different, but they channel the water away from under the tire giving you more confidence. In any situation, , driving these make you feel more comfortable at the wheel, in more control. I highly reccomend these even if they are not run flats, add towing to your insurance, small price to pay or as i did buy a small air inflator and a tire plug kit. On a twisty road, spirited driving, my wife was leaning in the curves for how well these tires were holding the line. would defintely buy again, make my c6 vert feel like a new car again.

...The Cooper performs similar to the Continental but with way more comfort...
I got this tire this summer , I had before the continental pure tech and before that the Good year RS A. The Cooper performs similar to the Continental but with way more comfort, however the snow performance was not as good as the continental ,the Goodyear was only better at dry conditions ,it was horrible at wet or snow,so i would recommend the cooper

...Quiet, comfortable, they grip well, all good...
I live in an area where it rains a lot, so I wanted a tire that had excellent wet and dry traction first, and good enough snow and ice traction to get by on the few days a year we get snow. They're lovely in the dry. I'd give them 10/10, but the steering is just a bit too twitchy for my liking, otherwise no complaints. Quiet, comfortable, they grip well, all good. Haven't had them long enough to see about treadwear. They're disappointing in the wet. If it's not too much rain, they're fine, but as soon as there's a good downpour, or standing water, they feel very prone to hydroplaning. Last rainy season, I had my Michelin X-Ices on the whole time, and they may as well have been glued to the pavement, no matter how much rain and standing water there was. I was hoping to not need my winter tires anymore, but these are so comically bad in the snow that I'll stick to summer tires for spring/summer/fall, and winters in the winter, despite how little snow we get. I wish I could give them an even lower rating for snow/ice traction. They're serviceable in slush, but as soon as there's a layer of snow involved, AWD is the only thing giving me any control. Even crawling around corners at 10km/h and I'm understeering and fishtailing. They'll find some traction in a straight line, and on flat ground, but that's it. They shouldn't advertise any light snow ability, I would hate to attempt going anywhere in snow without AWD. Useless. So yeah. If it never snowed at all here, I'd consider buying them again if they were better in the wet, but if you live somewhere where it rains often, and snows sometimes, don't bother with these. If it's usually dry, and rains sometimes, these would be perfect.

...Usually get between 8k-12k out of tires and NEVER more regardless of the car or rotation frequency which is frequently. That was true, till I bought a lightly used set of these tires already on some wheels I wanted... These have been the best and longest lasting set of tires I've ever owned...
The highest mileage I've ever gotten out of a set of tires. There wasn't an option for 'out in the boonies' for drive location, but that's where I drive. Two lane roads through Appalachia turn into a racetrack and have my whole life. Usually get between 8k-12k out of tires and NEVER more regardless of the car or rotation frequency which is frequently. That was true, till I bought a lightly used set of these tires already on some wheels I wanted. Nearly sold them as they tend to lightly scrub under high suspension compression or in a fully cut turn of the wheelbsince they're not meant for my vehicle, but thank goodness I didn't. These have been the best and longest lasting set of tires I've ever owned. Stick to a curve like a tick to a hound. They are relatively quiet up till about 75 or 80. Not terrible thereafter though. I've had some front end issues too, so I think the resonance is not from fault of the tires. Do very well with wet conditions, however my only wreck was on a rainy day, and I'm not big on pushing it in those conditions anymore understandably. Only issue is they are not great under 20°f. They get rather hard and aren't anywhere near as good for cornering, which is what I would expect in those conditions. Overall, I love them.
