The Geolandar CV G058 is Yokohama's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of crossovers, small- and medium-sized utility vehicles and minivans looking for reassuring year round traction combined with a comfortable, quiet ride. The Geolandar CV G058 is designed to deliver balanced dry performance with dependable wet and wintertime traction and long treadlife, providing a confident drive, even in light snow.
An advanced CV-2 compound featuring Micro Silica is molded into a five-rib, symmetric pattern, utilizing chamfered edges and rounded rib blocks on the shoulders and intermediate ribs. This carefully constructed block profile increases dry traction and spreads out load characteristics, promoting even and longer treadlife. The Geolandar CV G058 is designed with a distinctive, five-pitch variation pattern to help cancel noise that naturally develops as the tread elements roll along the road surface. Hydroplaning resistance is managed by large circumferential and Pass Thru grooves, which are constructed to efficiently evacuate large amounts of water from the tread face. A combination of 2D and 3D sipes work in conjunction with the wet-focused CV-2 compound to boost traction in slippery conditions. The biting edges created by the sipes combine with serrated outer grooves to promote wintertime traction and stability.
Internal construction of the Geolandar CV G058 consists of a two-ply polyester casing providing a robust and responsive package. Twin steel belts are reinforced by a nylon cap ply to further enhance handling and high-speed stability.

All-Season vs. All-Weather Tires: What’s the Best Touring Tire for Premium CUVs? – 2024 Test 2 – With Winter Update(22:11)
We’ve tested Touring All-Season tires before, but never like this! Eight Touring tires, the best of the best, both 3PMSF branded [all-weather] and traditional all-season options, take to the street and the track to see how they stack up. Using our new Alfa Romeo Stelvio to represent the popular CUV segment, TJ and Brent put these eight contenders through the paces on the road, on the track, and in the winter elements to get a read on what to consider when comparing all-weather vs. all-season tires.
Customers praise the Yokohama Geolandar CV G058 for its excellent comfort, with many highlighting a smooth, quiet ride that enhances daily driving. Treadwear scores consistently land in the 8-10 range, showing strong durability for an all-season crossover/SUV tire. Winter traction earns positive marks overall, though a few note reduced confidence on ice. Wet performance stands out with high scores for hydroplaning resistance and grip, while dry traction receives near-perfect ratings for stability and responsiveness. Drivers appreciate its balanced all-season capability, with many emphasizing reliability in varied conditions and long-term value from extended tread life.

...Also, very good wet traction when accelerating from a stop...
Good all around tire. I've had michelin, pirelli & goodyear on this vehicle, and those always had vibration at highway speed even with balance rechecked. The Yoko's have been to over 100mph and smooth as glass. Also, very good wet traction when accelerating from a stop. Sweeping off ramp turns at high speed and no squealing. Tread wear has been good so far in 13,000 miles. Very pleased with these tires.

...They respond very well on wet roads and performed efficiently on winter weather...
First time buying this set of tires and I have no complaints about it, they were exactly what I expected based on reviews from previous owners. They respond very well on wet roads and performed efficiently on winter weather. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a good experience.

Tire is responsive and has excellent wear characteristics. Good grip on snow and ice and in the light rain, high speeds and heavy rain tends to a little bit of instability but nothing attentive driving can't overcome. Front tire shoulders wore evenly but a little faster than the tread. Rotating regularly solves the problem. Excellent overall tire.

...Excellent dry and wet traction...
What's not to like. Great ride quality, very low noise. Excellent dry and wet traction, OK snow traction. Low rolling resistance gets about 2MPG better than the cheapies I took off.

The tires are quiet and comfortable. Good traction in dry and wet conditions. Probably not the tire you select if you value performance over comfort but if you are looking for solid, quiet and decent handling tires, these fit the bill.

...We've only had these approximately 5000 miles but I see no weird or abnormal wearing. I hope to get 40K-45K miles out of these...
Always bought Michelin for the last 20 yrs. My mechanic talked me into the Yokohamas. I am extremely impressed especially with the quietness of the tires. These have significantly less road noise with a very smooth comfortable ride. We were driving back from Colorado to Indiana and got caught in a pretty wicked downpour. I experienced zero hydroplaning and the car always felt well under me in control. We've only had these approximately 5000 miles but I see no weird or abnormal wearing. I hope to get 40K-45K miles out of these. We will see but at this point I would highly recommend these and most likely there is no going back to Michelins for me.

...I've managed several times to get 50-60k miles on cheap tires too. My experience here tells me they can last upwards of 80k miles before being done-done...
I purchased Yokohama Geolandars for my 2007 Toyota RAV4 and my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. Of all the tires I've ever purchased for my cars, I have to say Geolandars are well worth the money.
I've gone the cheap route before and paid the price for failing lesser quality tires in the past, but I have yet to have a single Geolandar of the 6 I currently have fail on me. (3 more on the way to complete the switch over at the time of writing this)... I've managed several times to get 50-60k miles on cheap tires too. My experience here tells me they can last upwards of 80k miles before being done-done
My driving takes me into many large apartments where road cleanup is not great as well as salvage yard frequently. Not to mention in town and highway driving. These tires are no joke good.
My only "Complaint" with them is they're not stellar with snow or icy conditions but keep in mind my truck is rear wheel only... My car is front wheel only. So I have experienced some icy conditions with both types of drives. This "May" just be as simple as my cars not having 4WD or AWD.
Also one last thing to mention. I'm a very apprehensive person who reads reviews with a grain of salt and I'm skeptical about a lot of things... When I'm enthusiastic about a product it's because it's a VERY good product. I can tell you that I will be back when the time comes and I will be sticking with the Geolandar series. Buy into the Geolandar series and you very likely won't have to worry about them failing prematurely.
Thanks for reading and I sincerely hope everyone who buys these for their SUVs or Trucks have the same great experience with these tires.
