The Wrangler Workhorse AT is Goodyear's Off-Road All-Terrain tire developed for drivers of pickup trucks, Jeeps, crossovers and SUVs who want a dependable tire with consistent traction and predictable handling no matter the conditions. Built to provide the toughness to tame the terrain along with confident control for inclement weather, the Wrangler Workhorse AT features wintertime traction sufficient to earn the tire industry's severe snow service certification and three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.

Utilizing advanced compounding technology, the Wrangler Workhorse AT is built to provide good dry and wet road handling with consistent wear and long tread life. Additionally, the tread blocks have been engineered to offer enhanced cut-and-chip resistance and durability in off-road conditions and over rugged surfaces. Extended shoulder elements help prevent external damage while providing added traction on loose terrain. The large tread blocks help produce aggressive traction capabilities while providing deep channels for hydroplaning resistance. The tread pattern's purposeful design utilizes numerous block angles that create high numbers of biting edges across the contact patch, which helps produce light snow traction that meets the tire industry's severe snow service requirements.

Internal construction of the Wrangler Workhorse AT utilizes a durable, two-ply polyester casing designed to balance reliability and comfort along with twin, high-strength steel belts providing a robust foundation.

Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.

Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse AT Reviews

Customer surveys indicate the Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse AT delivers excellent dry traction (scores 8-10) and strong wet performance with reliable hydroplaning resistance, fitting its all-terrain purpose. Winter capabilities show robust deep snow traction, though some note reduced confidence on ice. Riders praise the comfortable, quiet experience for an off-road tire, with noise levels often scoring 8-10. Treadwear ratings (8-10) highlight durable construction suited for rugged use. While most categories perform well within intended off-road conditions, a few lower winter scores suggest varying experiences in extreme ice scenarios.

...Rain and wet driving provides the same comfort as dry driving and I have only had one instance of extreme hydroplaning... Otherwise, the tires have no problem traversing standard amounts of water on the road...

These tires caught my attention because of the more moderate All-Terrain tread pattern vs. the more aggressive Duratrac and more highway orientated All-Terrain Adventure w/Kevlar. I have had both and experienced different traits with both. Duratrac wears horribly uneven on the lugs unless you rotate them every 2500 miles. All-Terrain Adventure w/Kevlar was a great all around seasonal tire, with a tread pattern more designed for highway only driving - in my opinion.

The Workhorse AT delivers a tread pattern similar or almost Identical to the discontinued Trailrunner AT. It has proven to be a great choice for my location and the adverse weather we encounter. it can be over 100 F in the summer and a has been to -30 F in the winter. I drive on snow every winter, I have 2 mountain passes I have to drive through on occasion. Having the peace of mind of a high quality tire is always appreciated.

Summer driving is mostly highway and unimproved gravel / chip seal / compact dirt roads. These tires excel in all aspects.

Rain and wet driving provides the same comfort as dry driving and I have only had one instance of extreme hydroplaning. The rain was out of control on that day and the freeway had plugged drainage system. There was numerous places with over 3 inch deep puddles that immediately sent the pickup off course. 60mph into a small lake will do that to any tire. Otherwise, the tires have no problem traversing standard amounts of water on the road.

Winter and snow driving is great. We get mixed results with how our highway is plowed, scraped, graveled or de-iced. As any tire on direct ice, these will travel a bit, but on compact snow, deep snow, graveled highway etc. Theses tires pass my scrutiny well.

Overall I'm happy with the purchase, and will definitely consider this tire again in the future. Granted, I have only gone 6000 miles with this vehicle in one year, which is half the national average, I expect them to continue to serve my needs well.

I've not had a lot of time with them yet, but they are soooo quiet. That is my biggest need. It does rain a lot where I live and I've noticed an increased level of control with traction and control.

...Only weak point is wet traction, while acceptable and safe, I have noticed a bit less traction in wet conditions vs my OEM Hankook Dynapro AT2...

Tires are all about offs, consider your individual needs and conditions when buying. These workhorse ATS are a great winter tire and work well with my truck. I was impressed by this tire in subzero conditions and roads COVERED in snow and ice. Traction both accelerating and stopping was very good. Dry road manners are good as well. I live on a hard pack dirt road and have been happy with the traction. Highway noise is very good (for an AT tire). Only weak point is wet traction, while acceptable and safe, I have noticed a bit less traction in wet conditions vs my OEM Hankook Dynapro AT2. But the increase in off road, dirt, and winter conditions is worth the trade off for my conditions. My tires say they are made in Mexico (if that matters to you). I tow as well (~8000 lbs) and these tires have performed well and have a strong load rating. Overall I am very happy with this tire, but if I lived in Florida for example I would look elsewhere for better wet traction. If you live in a 4 season climate and genuinely need to buy a snowblower, this tire is a great well rounded option.

...Took them out in a fresh 13" snow and experienced no slipping or sliding...wasn't doing anything crazy just normal driving.

I normally go with General Grabbers but do to availability issues I went with the Wrangler Workhorse ATs. Been thru one winter and have about 15K on them. So far they have met all my expectations and I would purchase again. I live in the mountains and I drive on dirt/gravel/rocky forest roads daily. I normally ran them slightly under inflated and I experienced no issues. Took them out in a fresh 13" snow and experienced no slipping or sliding....wasn't doing anything crazy just normal driving.

These tires were mounted the Friday before the blizzard that hit us starting late Saturday night through to early Monday morning. Had about one and a half feet of snow over an 1/8 inch layer of ice (freezing rain hit us first). Drove into work that Monday morning and the tires performed exceptionally well too and from, over a couple hills and at intersections (stopping and starting). Very happy with this composition of tires, will absolutely buy again when these are worn out. Should note that I was running them about -3 PSI in the snow and ice.

These tires are great in dry conditions...

These tires are great in dry conditions, and decent off road. However, they break loose easy in the rain. They’re just OK in snow and horrible in ice and windy conditions. They will let the truck move side-to-side in windy conditions I hadn’t noticed as much on other tires.

Keep looking for other tires.

I cannot believe how quiet and comfortable these tires are. Like driving on grand touring tires, but they are light truck tires. Because I live in a state that you literally can go from rain snow and any other weather conditions all in one day. I really got to try these out in the rain on the coast, mountain pass snow and dry roads. They did great. Glad to have great tires.

Pure enjoyment driving with these tires. They are quiet, smooth, effortlessly easy to grip onto pavement or gravel roads and country back roads with uneven pavement, rocks, and mud. This is the ultimate all terrain tire. Goes without saying, this tire keeps everyone super safe and confident during the WORST untreated blizzard snow storms. I do tow frequently with it. No issues with treadwear. Just a astonishing tire overall for drivers who want to drive with a purpose and be safe at all times. You are the most precious cargo! Always remember! These tires will serve all of this. Not sure why it is not rated higher.

...Also the road noise is not bad at all and I think they were quieter than the stock tires!...

Have them on my Ford Transit (RWD+LSD) converter camper van, driven all across USA over last year on them; 25k miles. Taken it up and down steep gravel/dirt/rocky roads and never had an issue on that terrain. Also drove it in some sandy conditions and it did great, I carried speed and had no issues. Only had one really muddy road and tires spun but with traction control I got out fine. They also work really well in snow. I've driven up snowy mountain roads with a few inches of powder no problem. The only trouble I've had in snow is reversing (slightly) uphill out of a spot, the tires would usually just spin. They're also not amazing in icy conditions or heavy wet snow at low speeds, but plowed roads or a few inches are no problem. I think on a awd/4wd vehicle they'd be amazing! Also the road noise is not bad at all and I think they were quieter than the stock tires! Also I did not notice a change in MPG from my stock tires either, and these were MUCH more capable. Overall would definitely recommend, especially for the price! At 25,000 miles on them now and they are still in the green (tread remaining), but almost in the yellow. FYI my vehicle is pretty heavy at ~8000lbs
