The Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 is Pirelli's Street/Sport Truck All-Season tire, part of the ongoing evolution of Pirelli's popular Scorpion Zero line. Engineered for the specific needs of drivers that demand performance all year long from their crossovers, SUVs, and light trucks without having to worry about swapping out their tires from season-to-season. Dry, rain, or even light snow, the Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 was designed to handle all of it.

Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 callouts

The Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 features an asymmetric tread pattern molded from an all-season compound aimed at delivering year-round performance in any condition while maximizing comfort and longevity. Designed to wear with the tire, full-depth sipe features work with the numerous grooves and channels for predictable wet performance and hydroplaning resistance long into the tire's lifespan. The Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 employs a variety of 3D sipes focused on holding on to traction in slippery and inclement winter weather with increased biting edges while retaining reliable clear road handling characteristics.

The tire's internal structure features a dual-ply polyester body with twin steel belts for increased responsiveness to driver input, while two polyamide reinforcement plies offer the reinforcement needed to maintain predictable handling and durability at high speed.

Popular Tires for America's Most Popular Vehicles – 2025 Test 8 - With Winter Update(39:51)

The Crossover, or CUV, is hands-down the most popular vehicle in America. Last year in our CUV test, we used the Alfa Romeo Stelvio to test all-season and all-weather touring tires. This year, the field expanded to include all-terrain and performance truck products, representing the full range of tires drivers are installing on these vehicles. Obviously, with a test this diverse, it’s not so much about which one tire rises to the top, but rather how each category brings its own strengths to the table. When comparing multiple tires from one category, it's how they stack up against each other. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy Test 8!

Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 Reviews

Ratings data demonstrates the Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 excels as a street-focused all-season tire, with 9-10 ratings dominating dry traction, cornering stability, and steering responsiveness. Wet performance earns consistent praise for grip and hydroplaning resistance, with most scores at 9-10. Winter traction shows strong results in snow (frequent 9-10 scores), though ice ratings show minor variability. Comfort receives high marks for ride smoothness, though noise levels have some minor variance. Treadwear is generally rated 8-10, with many customers highlighting durable performance. As soon as I got them mounted I even went through a 3 hour road trip through torrential rain: tires were incredible...

As a long time car enthusiast - I debated for weeks about what tires to go with on my Porsche Macan Sport Edition - Do I go with the stock Michelin''s again? or go with something else? Although the Michelin''s are N rated, they are incredibly old tire technology at this point and my stock tires were feathering/chipping at the edges which I guess they all do, and I just could not pull the trigger on such tires again. So I researched at no end. I have Michelin Pilot Sport 4s''s on my e46 M3 and debated about those, but considering the Macan is my daily for my business, I could not justify the tread wear and performance focus. I went back and forth between this tire and the Michelin All Season 4 (all other choices seemed trash for all-seasons) - but the price difference for this specific Pirelli was just too good (at the time, the price difference was over $600+ to go with the Michelin All season 4 versus this tire). I decided to go with this tire and I am glad I did. This tire is phenomenal on the Macan! As soon as I got them mounted I even went through a 3 hour road trip through torrential rain: tires were incredible. Beyond that, I''ve put 2k miles on them and they are: incredibly quiet, perform insanely well in the canyons in Sport+ mode (well beyond my expecations) and I''ll never go back to the stock N rated Michelin to say the least. I believe these are so well priced, perform incredibly well, and would I even notice a difference between these and the All Season 4''s in daily driving use? For saving $600+, I don''t even care to answer that question. These tires are the ones for the Macan, and if Porsche would re-rate tires for this gen Macan, I believe these would be N rated. For those that need to hear this as well: make sure when getting these mounted to get them road force balanced, NOT static balanced! I''ve read comments about tire where and vibrations: this has to do with mounting and balancing, not the tire! Highly recommend!

...Very confidence inspiring in the wet...

I like these enough to take the time to write a positive review. These have been so pleasantly good! The best combo of noise, handling, comfort and life span so far. And unfortunately, I've tried several options. This review applies across all weather conditions. Very confidence inspiring in the wet. Competent in snow. Longevity looks pretty good at 10 k. Will buy again

Tires handle very well in dry and wet conditions. These were installed on a lease in November to be used over the winter until next year when the lease is up - so I didn't plan on having dedicated winter tires. Overall, these tires seem to be pretty good in snowy conditions (rural roads) between unplowed and plowed with sand only (not road salt). OEM tires tended to get a bit better traction when they were new, which I find odd, especially since these had better ratings. However, for all-season tires - they provide excellent grip, very quiet, and handle acceleration and corning very well. I would definitely purchase these again when I purchase my next vehicle, but will get a dedicated set of winter tires to compliment them.

...We only tested them in some trace flurries for a bit, but they did fine...

Just got back from a 2k mile drive from Georgia to Massachusetts and back, along with some around town miles. Overall, these tires are really nice. The OEM tires (Michelin Primacy Tour A/S) were decent for my needs, but road noise got considerably worse. I replaced them around 30k miles with about 5/32 left on each, and even with tread left they were getting noisy. They were also never great in wet conditions, often spinning a bit with moderate acceleration. The Pirellis have been amazing in both wet and rainy conditions, not losing traction once. They truly do hug the road. We only tested them in some trace flurries for a bit, but they did fine.
These tires are also whisper quite. They are amazing at noise dampening, making the respectably quiet Michelin's (when new) seem like amplifiers.
On the other side, being more performance oriented, the ride is definitely stiffer. The Michelin's felt like clouds comparatively. The Pirelli's are much more responsive and offer better feedback, but they also fail to shield any bumps or uneven pavement.
The rolling resistance is nicely tuned, to the point where I haven't noticed any decrease in the efficiency, still floating in the 3.2 mi/kwh range for highway driving. Admirable for a sportier tire. The braking distance (including with HDA enabled) does need a bit more space, though no major issue.
The rub is that the Scorpions will be a great tire depending on what you prioritize. I like them a lot, but wish the ride was slightly softer (especially on longer road trips). Being performance tires, I did expect a dip in ride quality. But as for wet performance and noise reduction, these are top notch and likely top of class.

...For an all season high-performance Tire, however, these are exceptional.

The only downside is that these tires do exhibit, a large amount of road force, which means that there’s a little bit of vibration that feels like a tire is out of balance for the 1st mile or so, especially when they are cold. This rolls out, so to speak, and they become perfectly fine thereafter. The only reason I did not rate them higher for steering response is that they are not summer tires, which obviously would rate a 10. For an all season high-performance Tire, however, these are exceptional.

...Wet and dry traction are excellent, ride is comfortable and quit, and handling, especially turn in, is very good.

I replaced the factory Continental tires at 11,000 miles. Between the noise and handling issues they were not meeting my needs. I owned Pirelli tires on my last vehicle and really liked them.
Wet and dry traction are excellent, ride is comfortable and quit, and handling, especially turn in, is very good.

...the ride quality, noise and road control were highly rated so I bought them... the ride is smooth as glass...

I used TireRack's tire review reports and found these Pirelli tires. I had never owned Pirelli before but the ride quality, noise and road control were highly rated so I bought them. I knew my OEM Continental tires were getting noisy and unreliable on wet roads but I didn't realize how bad it had gotten until I got these Pitelli's. I was at 48K on my OEM tires so it was time. Wow, what a difference. Noise has dropped significantly, wet road control is fantastic and the ride is smooth as glass. I can recommend these to anyone.

...The thing I notice most about the Pirelli's is the deeper tread depth and how quiet the ride is...

This car came with OEM Pirelli run flats, and I swapped them out for non-run flat tires (mainly b/c I thought the run flats were noisy). Mistake. The tires I purchased (Continentals) wore within the first year (<10,000 miles on them) and I was having trouble with hydroplaning within 14 months of purchase. It was getting unsafe, so I worked with an agent from Tire Rack and they recommended going back with Pirelli's and I chose the Scorpions. They're excellent. The day I put them on it was raining hard, and the ride to the shop (on the old tires-- where I couldn't drive the speed limit even b/c of how badly the back tires "walked" on the wet pavement) and the grip of the Pirelli's once I got the new tires mounted was night and day. The thing I notice most about the Pirelli's is the deeper tread depth and how quiet the ride is. I've only had them on the car for a few weeks, but so far, I'm very impressed and completely relieved to be rid of my old tires.

The previous set only lasted 32000 miles so I'm hoping these last longer.

The tire are replacements of previously installed Pirelli tires. Haven’t had time to test in winter conditions, but dry and wet are great. Slight noise when wet, but it is just the tire channeling away the water. The previous set only lasted 32000 miles so I’m hoping these last longer.
