The Transforce HT w/UNI-T is Firestone's Commercial Highway All-Season tire developed to combine comfort with light truck tire capability for sport utility vehicle, pickup, van and commercial vehicle drivers. The Transforce HT is designed primarily for on-road use by providing predictable handling and year-round traction on dry and wet roads, as well as in light snow.

On the outside, Transforce HT radials feature an all-season Long Link Carbon tread compound molded into a symmetric tread design that uses notched shoulders, independent intermediate tread blocks and a continuous center rib to blend handling, foul weather traction and straight line tracking. Wide circumferential grooves provide hydroplaning resistance while lateral grooves and multiple sipes provide the biting edges needed to enhance light snow traction. On the inside, twin steel belts reinforced by spiral-wrapped nylon help maintain the tire's shape to enhance performance at highway speeds while a polyester cord body enhances ride quality.

Firestone Transforce HT Reviews

User feedback reveals the Firestone Transforce HT excels in treadwear and comfort, with many customers reporting excellent tread life (scores 9-10) and a smooth, quiet ride (scores 8-10). Dry traction and cornering stability earn strong marks (7-10 range), with drivers praising confident handling on highways. Wet performance shows variability, with hydroplaning resistance rated 7-10 but some lower scores (5-6) in heavy rain. Winter traction receives mixed feedback, with scores dipping to 0-4 in icy conditions, highlighting limitations for severe winter use. While most appreciate its all-season versatility, a subset notes reduced snow/ice capability compared to dedicated winter tires, aligning with its highway-focused design.

...I enjoy the quietness of the tires and good traction in snow and rain.

These tires lasted much longer than I expected. 75,000 miles and still tread on the tires. I enjoy the quietness of the tires and good traction in snow and rain.

I have driven in pouring rain at 65 mph without incident...

I have been very happy with these tires. I pull a 30' travel trailer that weighs about 9500 lb. I also pull a 25' box trailer that weighs about 10500 lb when full. These tires have nice stiff sidewalls and good traction in any reasonable road condition. I have driven in pouring rain at 65 mph without incident. I have driven off-road, but only in grass and other easy surfaces without problems. The ride is a little stiff when the unloaded, but the tradeoff for the increased stability when towing the trailer is well worth it. These tires were made in the US. The tires went on at about 38k miles and just came off at 97k miles. They were almost down to the wear bars. On this car, the wear was very even. I kept the tires inflated to about 65 psi when not towing, but increased to the 80 psi when towing. The tires have been very quiet throughout their life. The tires would have lasted an additional 5000-8000 miles before they were totally to the wear bars, but with winter coming, they needed replaced.
I replaced them with the same tire that I purchased through the local Firestone dealer. I was dismayed to find out that the ones that they sold me were made in Costa Rica! There is a lot riding on these tires when we are traveling at 65 mph with the entire family onboard pulling our camping trailer. Hopefully things will go well. In retrospect, I wish that I had the US made tires from Tire Rack shipped in to a local installer. I recommend these tires.

...so far seem to hold their own on wet surfaces snow and ice...

I have a Nissan 2012 NV 2500 HD so these Firestone TransForce HT tires came with my vehicle. I have 13,400 miles on them over a 4yr period tires still look new, I carry about 2500 hundred pounds of weight in the vehicle since I got the vehicle. I use the vehicle for my business carpet cleaning equipment. On the highway the tires are great smooth ride, not much road noise, and so far seem to hold their own on wet surfaces snow and ice. Haven't had much experience with them off-road cos vehicle just too heavy to do that. Have notice that on some back road that are not well taken care of, can be a little bumpy noisy and rough, but I attribute that more so to bad road. Overall can't really complain I would give these tires 3 stars out of 5. Have read other reviews and am a little perplexed cos seems to be 60 percent bad reviews and about 40 percent good reviews. I must be in that 40 percent good review group. I must say I am an easy going driver, and keep tires inflated at 80 psi back two tires and rotate and balance them every 6000 miles. Maybe that's the difference good maintenance. From what I can see these tires should go 40,000 or 50,000 miles pretty easy, but at the rate I'm traveling per yr may not get there for another 8yrs, and a lot can happen between now and then. Over-all good tire so far, hope this has been helpful.

...Handling and hydroplaning resistance is good, and there was no measurable loss in fuel economy...

The company I work for owns a fleet of GMC pickups and vans ranging from 2005 to 2016. They all run these tires. The one I drive is a '14 Sierra pickup. We deliver parts for big rigs and are constantly on the road, often with very heavy loads. The OE General grabber HTSs wore out at 55k and on went a set of these. It should be noted that my truck calls for 255 width but my boss opted for 245s, which is the size all the other trucks run to keep it simple. I can't tell a difference. On to the review:

Overall, these are long lasting tires. We inflate to 50PSI all around. The current set on the truck I drive every day now has 65,000 miles on it, and still has about 5/32 tread left. Should easily make it to 80k, possibly more. It should be noted that rotations are not done as often as they should be. My set has had 2, maybe 3 in the 65k they've been on there. The rears are starting to cup a little. We haul very heavy loads and this is not uncommon. One truck ate through it's 2 rear tires in just 20k miles because it hauls the most weight (certainly more than our trucks are rated for). One of my tires had a manufacturing defect and had to be replaced 2 days after purchase, the tire place handled the warranty and my employer only lost the downtime.

Ride quality and quietness start off excellent when new, but degrade over time. These tires will definitely need rebalancing over their lifetimes. My truck shakes at highway speeds now, just the same as it did with the generals before they were replaced. Still ride better over bumps than those rock hard generals though. Handling and hydroplaning resistance is good, and there was no measurable loss in fuel economy.

Overall, if I owned one of these trucks and didn't haul much, I'd put a set of these on it. They last a long time and the price is right.

...Even on dry pavement they have no grip...

Really tough and durable tires but traction is horrible in any condition. Even on dry pavement they have no grip. I couldn't even back up on dry grass. The only good thing is they last for a very long time and can handle a lot of weight. I wouldn't put another set on if they were given to me.

...If you can deal with a rough riding tire I highly recommend these to anyone that just needs a set of good tires for a work truck that goes off-road when needed.

Perfect work/farm truck tire. I do a lot of towing and my fair share off road and these tires continues to impress me. Even with a 7k pound trailer with the truck and trailer sunk to the rims in a sandy clay mud they pull better than the previous set of a/ts I had even with them being almost bald. If you can deal with a rough riding tire I highly recommend these to anyone that just needs a set of good tires for a work truck that goes off-road when needed.

...On ICE these tires are a death trap, even with 4x4. Light and deep snow, even in 4x4 you better drive like your driving on a steep downhill grade on ICE at all times...

These are possibly the worst set of tires I've ever driven on. Why Ram would choose to put these on their new Trucks is beyond me, they are so bad they make you think Rams 4x4 trucks handle terrible in rain snow and Ice. I'll start off with they are quite but I have a ram 2500 so road noise is hardly a concern. On dry roads they are ok, they wander a little and will chirp on hard turns so not the best. On ICE these tires are a death trap, even with 4x4. Light and deep snow, even in 4x4 you better drive like your driving on a steep downhill grade on ICE at all times. Perhaps if I lived in a warm climate Id be fine with these but living in NY, these ----. Even in summer on damp dirt or sand, no traction. Not to mention the tread wear is crap. Anyway, unless you are driving on highways only, in the south stay away from these tires.

...live in an area that gets a little snow is a disaster in snow.

this came with my new truck a diesel only 7500 miles and less than 20% remaining on them. Spend 60,000 on a truck and they put this garbage on them. Called Firestone they said the dealer ordered these with truck and are made not to perform as good as others they sell.
Do not drive hard at all but live in an area that gets a little snow is a disaster in snow. Would not put on truck if they were given for free and the dealer charged me an upgrade on these garbage. Will not go to dealer again if they don't make right by me or ever buy a Firestone again. Tires are to of an important part of the truck to chance them. hunter Ram should be punished for ordering such a cheap tire for an expensive truck my dream retirement truck. Been a big rig truck driver all my life and my personal transportation has always been a truck.
